The way Dan tells about the history feels personal at times. Like he was there. His words, demeanor and tone is perfect for this stuff. Like your literally getting a first hand account from someone who witnessed it.

I could listen to Mr. Dan talk all day. He certainly knows the history of the area. Too bad someone can't repair the grave stones and clean up a little bit.

I LOVE when you have Dan with you. Such a bundle of knowledge,a very good storyteller and a valuable historian. But I really appreciate the way you always read the gravestones out loud now too. You have become a very valuable asset to the genealogical world.

Y’all really Need a drone with a good camera. Mainly for surveying areas from above. Just by being able to see geographical formations from above will help you find certain locations. You could literally be standing where a home was and not really know unless you were able to see it from an above view and plus it could be fun scouting locations from above looking for certain indicators that say humans were around that area.

Hi Robert and Dan I don't blame the hall family picking the place to be buried at it seems so peaceful and quiet all the best Andrew south wales 🇬🇧 😀 👍

Awesome, more of the Rough Edge area. That book looks like it has great descriptions and information. A new place to Dan, that is surprising. With the clear cutting and the strange fence line, very mysterious. This is where it would be great to have a drone to fly over the clear cut area, and back to the fence line - for shots and whatever discoveries could be made. But, I know, not enough hours in the day, correct? This was a bonus episode today. I enjoyed it!! ❣️👍👍
@sandysue2022 жыл бұрын
I thought about a drone, too. Especially in the winter and early spring before all the vegetation gets going strong. But, they are expensive and there is a learning curve to them to accomplish their use. This was a great video!
@SondraD76762 жыл бұрын
@@sandysue202👍Yes, the FAA classes that are required and testing are time consuming. The expense is secondary when a person's schedule is so full. 👍

Very sad, these headstones have layed in the dirt since at least the 1960s and no one has tried to right them. Guess that happens with no family

Thank you guys, so good to see that the Halls still have that old wrought iron fence still intact . Incredible when you think about it. It would be good if you could cut those sapling trees that are growing inside the fence as they will ultimately destroy the Halls resting place in time.👍

I have a LOT of Hall Families in my own genealogy, from my grandmother's side [ my father's mother ] and also have Hall family on my half brother's father's side of the family, coming mainly form Kentucky area. Makes me wonder IF some of the Georgia Halls, were related, since my father's mother side moved form Kentucky, to parts of Indiana, and Missouri, but a lot stayed around the Kentucky area as well. Interesting. Thank you and Dan both for sharing.

This is definitely a mysterious cemetery. I wonder if the wife chose the fence surrounding her husband's grave. Perhaps she was no longer living on what was left of the plantation when she passed. Once eras have passed, there's not much left.
@maryohare41412 жыл бұрын
That iron fence was beautiful! Made me wonder how expensive it must have been, especially after Civil War and Southern money being worthless. Mrs. Hall must have really loved her husband to make that resting place so beautiful.
