Playing Helldivers 2 with my Marine Corps buddy / best friend . I don't know why I have to say this but he is African-American like I am. God this game is so much fun, I did not expect this at all if you haven't picked it up you need to grab it (even though the servers are crap right now)

The gameplay is amazing, feels like playing a movie. FYI you can access a weapon menu if you hold down reload that allows you to adjust ROF for machine guns and turn off the power safety on the Railgun by setting it to "unsafe" you can do even more damage per shot but make sure to shoot it in first person view so you can see the charge gauge because if you top it out you blow up lol. This also allows you to turn weapon lights off or on since if you're stealthy like crouching or using smoke grenades you can avoid spending ammo on unnecessary (but still fun!) fights.

I've played the game about 25 hours now, and -- I still get excited, just watching your second mission here. A few hours ago, I went on a ridiculously hard mission with 3 other guys. One by one, near the exit, we dropped. "DEAD" it read. Finally, we were all watching ONE GUY who was alive. If he died, that'd be it. We watched as he, surrounded by bugs everywhere, not only made it to the exit ship, and just barely made it inside. Insanely epic. What an incredible game!!!

I can offer some helpful advise! Would you like to know more? #1 Callouts and planning. Theres a compass with °degrees so you can callout on coms points and targets of interest. Also on the map if you hold down a button while you have the map up you can mark things on the map, if you have a special light armor punging the map can 'UAV' light up targets for you. #2 Before you reload throwing a granade and or a offensive stratagem like a bomb or turret is extremely handy for creative space/cover to reload. #3 if both are running then both arnt shooting. Once the enemies spot you and swarms start happening either bring down thunder with heavy air/arty support and book it 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ OR Leapfroging 1 part peels off the other covers. If you do neither of the above youll just snowball ur troubles without dishing enough hurt out to solve them. #4 there is a hidden premise to this game in most levels where you go from A to B adventuring that not having the bad guys know about you stops them calling in infinite waves, THEY WONT STOP TILL UR DEAD OR FLED, so most times only make ANY noise or run risky open if you have to. Note, none of that really applies on the hold out kill 500 of em or defend 'x' type missions. #5 you can reload basic weapons primary and side arm ON THE RUN and some of the heavy tier weapons, you can also reload them mid air with the jump-pack. #6 try as best you can to 'contain' the fight area so nearby hordes dont get latched on to their buddies and join the shitshow. Try either running in medium tight circles or holding out in good terrain till the enemies you got coming are cleared QUICKLY so you have a breather, else its a never ending shit show. #7 the small ○ when you aim is the direction your barrels pointing so it bobs and jumps whenever your hosing gotta correct with tap fire or pulling the aim down or aiming first person. Thats all off the top of my head, hope it helps you. PS I was impressed that you lived through the openi g tutorial MINIGUN turret moment :D

I've never felt this enthralled and Fuzed with a game since Halo 2... like I arranged my life arround playing Halo2 more.... now I'm arranging my life to play Helldivers.... I think this type of game only comes arround once every 10ish years.... one that actually impacts society and the gaming community, as Halo changed the way people played multiplayer. Helldivers is defining what good live service game is and what many people want...as other live service feels scummy I dont feel that way playing Helldivers and its popularity shows.

the grenade aim in helldivers 2 has been calibrated for civilian use, you want to smoke out a hole, aim into it, and the highly trained helldiver will baseball pitch that thing in 90% of the time. the remaining 10% is right when a bug comes out and it bounces.

The worst part about fighting the bugs is how they slip INTO your range. It's not always the big bugs you gotta worry about, it's the little ones that creep up on you and close the gap, thus opening up the big ones to finish you. Lots of strategy involved.

I'm a Marine Vet and my buddy is an Army Vet... We spent a long time talking about how we have basically heard like 90% of the lines, some of them word for word, while we were deployed.
