1: this dude ages so well, I'm like whats the point of my life? 2: The fact that he took the time to read the book, makes him way more likeable to all those other writers and actors, that haven't even glanced at the source material. I salute you General J Rico.
@camerapasteurize72159 ай бұрын
What's crazy is that the director of the Starship Troopers infamously didn't even bother to read the book. I believe he claimed it was just fascist propaganda. Which is ironic because, from what I've heard, the book is nothing like the movie and is super libertarian and about personal liberty and responsibility. Edit: fixed a word
@114Riggs9 ай бұрын
@@camerapasteurize7215 ironically Verhoeven accidentally portrayed the Federation in a libertarian way like the book. But yeah pretty dumb of him to dismiss the book as Fascist
@firstandlastname61949 ай бұрын
@@114Riggs Verhoeven was right, he had it pegged from the beginning. I've read the book. Its a little bit like the bits of 1984 By George Orwell that mention the endless war but actually sincere about the legitimacy of it. As former infantry the idea of veterans running a country is fucking terrifying. If you've ever been in the military you know they are not fit to run a civil society, it takes a little while for you to be fit to transition back into one.

This is so cool, I haven't even played Helldivers, but some of my friends do. Months ago, when I saw the game, I immediately associated it with Starship Troopers and mentioned it to them. They hadn't even seen the movie and didn't know what I was talking about. Now, while I'm taking a dump, KZbin recommends me this video, and it actually makes me want to play the game.

Why the hell is he not voice acting in this game???? Devs, PLZ. Also, I love that he still gets so excited about ST. Love it when actors are so passionate about the roles we love them for.

Best reaction video ever! As a kid, I read the book and then when the film came out, I watched it over and over and over. When i got old, I had the chance to meet Casper at both Comic-Con and Wondercon in California. He's a great guy, and his movie Starship Troopers is still as entertaining as ever. Now as a Helldivers 2 player, I only wish that Casper could have seen the Bile Spewers shooting out their rears (aka Plasma bugs), or the maniacal laughter from someone shooting a machine gun non-stop screaming phrases that could only have come from Starship Troopers. Even better, sitting on the bridge of your ship when you are above the Automaton planet and now the bots are shooting up towards the ships and causing some of them to explode! If Casper had seen videos of what I've described, his mind would have been even more blown!
