As someone moving to DE soon, it is concerning. There needs to be environmental impact studies done in addition to everything you mentioned.

They are done as part of the process, and the Cool Spring development has been denied 3 times already for exactly that reason, but they keep re-trying. I’m hoping it does not get the green light.

These projects are too big. I live on 9 and its already impossible in the summer

@MylesMcPartland it’s good to see the public start to resist some of these mega-projects. I’m all for sustainable growth, but these seem to be the opposite of that.

Thanks for the updates. How can the average resident oppose to these developments. I was told once the development offer “affordable homes”; the development cannot be protested. Note: there is a similar project on Durham Road - 84 apartments

These communities go before county commissions & are open meetings. Keep your eye on the cape gazette newspaper as those meetings will show up in there

There are some plans to make some changes, but the cool spring development has been turned down now 3 times & met with a ton of opposition from residents. I have a hard time believing that one will pass

That traffic is going to be unbearable. People need to say no to the developers or you are going to look like ocean city, md pretty soon.

We are over developing Sussex County. We don't have the infrastructure to support anymore growth. We are destroying the environment. Greedy developers will get their way as usual. Our Republican govermental representatives will get their payola as usual from the developers.

Certainly an interesting path forward. Eastern Sussex county has gone through massive growth while western Sussex is still mostly farmland. Unfortunately the beaches are the big draw & where everyone wants to be, leading to more growth than feasible
