Two Men in a Punt - part 3 of 4

In part 3 Ron Morrison takes us up the Gordon River to search for 'The Lawn' logging camp, last used in the 1930's. We also learn about pining in the Denison River in the 1960's and the building of the mighty 'Denison Star', pride of the Gordon.

What a great clip and story, look at that fella Reg Morrison here, born the same year as my father 1919, I'll tell you those men were something else, what they achieved and went through is remarkable. Look at the old fella Reg Morrison in this clip, born 1919 and he looks fit and his cognitive ability is sharp. He's not hunched over, he looks in real good shape for a man born 1919 and worked like he would've as a logger. Those early generations were special, tough single minded go getters, impressive on many levels

Absolutely loved watching, my grandfather Dick Clark lived in Strahan he used to tell some stories about those days, he also fixed up punts for mates around the town, as we inherited his punt and big boat which dad bought back after grandad died, looking forward to getting them both back in the water
