The Patel family of India owns 90% of these small motels. They buy them, fire all staff and bring in family to live and work there. The gov. allows them to operate tax free for 5 yrs. At the 5th year, they sell it to another relative and re start the process. They also own Holiday Inn express, and Dunkins. They are not the cleanest hotels.

Motel 6 ,stopped leaving the light on for us a long time ago. I use to love M6, now it's a shack I pass up when traveling. I've stayed in my car over checking in to a M6.

I can honestly say that every Motel 6 I've stay in was very good. Although the on in Winston Salem had very thin walls. The couple next-door were going at it all night long. You go Charles, you the man.

She called me about a month later screaming mad, saying she was having to spend several thousand dollars for the bug man to come in there and get rid of them😮

I agree I got a hotel years ago and them bedbugs put me in the emergency room I swelled up like the elephant man that literally was my 1st time seeing them I always thought it was just a nursery rhyme 😂😂😂I kept itching like never before I was going crazy and decided to strip the bed and damn there they was so I went to the front desk and got the owner and he talking about giving me another room hell nah I want a refund so I can get the hell away from here

I love motel reviews! The first motel has those horrid "Platform" beds, with mattresses that were too small. The way I toss and turn, I would have been bruised. At the second motel, you were going to use the black light, (which I love) but you didn't have to. Mr. roach made his appearance. I'm glad you got out of there, and I hope you were refunded for your room. Thanks Lamont

I just read a story you should talk about it happened two days ago in Orlando Florida were a pregnant woman got stabbed 14 times by a pizza delivery driver over a two dollar tip and she said that she came back to the hotel room and broke in the room with another guy and stabbed her in front of her kids lucky she survived

Fun fact : Motel 6 will " leave the light on for ya" to scare the roaches and bed bugs away. That is a king size wooden platform .That mattress is supposed to be king size to cover the whole surface That's a full size mattress .Ridiculous. Probably a remote foreign investor who went as cheap as possible ..

Yes I am in a motel 6 right now in Alabama and I have the same bed set up ,not only to you constantly bang into it,the bed slides on that wood if you sit up on the mattress.

Bare bones motels and hotels are depressing because there is nothing fun about them and they are often near busy highways and streets with lots of noise. When you stay over night you want a pleasant experience and not one where it looks like your first night in prison.

My husband an ,I and another couple were on ore way to Port Aransas. When we got to San Antonio we decided to stop for the night and get an early start the next morning. Our friends got a room next to ours but, something I had never had to do was put up a deposit. The next morning they came to inspect our rooms. There were a few things that was broken which was already broken when we got there.Mind you we are all elderly people and all we needed was a bed to rest for the night. They kept our deposit and it was a Motel 6.

Stayed at one in Akron. You could see crowbar marks on the door. My wife and I didn't even get under the covers. We just made a vow to stay alive and never, ever, stay at a motel six again.

I would not pay 6 nights upfront at an extremely cheap hotel. I'd pay only one night and want to look at the place first. Also, foam ear plugs are the way to go for blocking out sound when you sleep. I have an air purifier too but I know this would be hard to lug around to a motel.

Okay I just have one question. You spent $40 on a room? What did you expect? Seriously, you're spending $40 a room. You can't be expecting five-star treatment. If I pay only $40 for a room, I'm going to be expecting some of the nastiest f****** rooms I can expect. I probably expect to see dirt and grime and who knows what the f*** cockroaches bed bugs I'm telling you. I sure in the hell wouldn't be expecting anything nice.. Now maybe it's just me, but I'd rather spend an extra $100 or something so I know I'm going to have a better room. I know it's going to be clean. I can expect a little better service. There's no way I would stay in a room that only cost $40 a night. Not ever !
