Two New DJI Drones Coming?! + A Rant About Drone Leakers

I believe that many of these leaks are just part of the company’s marketing strategy. They love to stoke interest in upcoming releases. It’s cheap and effective. Seems to be working great for DJI for instance. Why would they change? Sending you, your wife and family positive vibes Russ!

Really sucks when they do this - hold off on new units until after all of the Holiday sales to sell off the old units, and then get the customer wishing they had waited half a year for the new one. 3d printer manufacturers doing the same thing. Only think worse than spending $2k on a unit is finding out that they already have a replacement made for it and are just holding back to maximize profit from the current one.

No it's a group of people who do this with multiple channels in multiple niches and it's all fake. It generates alot of income. There's documentaries on it here on yt. It's kinda crazy. Dead internet theory is real bro, been that way for almost a decade now.

Thoughts and prayers for your wife and family. And as far as the drone leaks going from the main two or three, they are so accurate most times that they must being coming from inside DJI. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I think leaks have become a bigger part of society overall, just they just be following the trends. Great video Russ, thanks for sharing.

LEAKS / leaks are the least of my problems / I'm a total beginner and only tried to fly mine two times ( and I did buy a cheap one ). I crashed both times. Trust me when you hear, give yourself some room to fly it ( GIVE YOURSELF A LOT OF ROOM ) like a football field. I have a pool in my backyard and it was only up about six inches. I nearly did a splashdown. Practice makes perfect, and I'm not giving up. And DON'T give up.

So interesting to come back to watch this. When I first viewed it it caused me to not buy the Neo drone. It was hard not to pull the trigger but I did. Now today 1/14/24 you introduced the Flip and I couldn’t be happier that I waited. (I’m guess the Flip is 1 of the 2 new drones?) Now I’m wondering if I should wait to see what the second drone has…BUT the way you described them I think the Flip would better fit my situation and wallet. Thanks from one Russ to another.

I learned patience with DJI purchases Air2 then Air2s then Mini 3 pro. The new batch of drones are not compatible with my old ones so I will need that major upgrade before I upgrade😅 A new friend flew with me yesterday and asked what should he buy he currently has a $50 toy drone. We watched a number of your full videos reviews. THEN I suggested he ask me again in 2 months because some of these leaks look good. But I can't recommend anything until I see your early review. (And 2 other youtubers I follow😢)

I agree with the suggestion of NDA ending. We rely on Reviewers to tell us about the product when it is in their hands. The leaks do nothing for us in truth, other than to know something is incoming. We need to know what it is, how it works, what quirks and problems have been found. Flight tests, practical experience. So yeah, let's do this!

First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with your wife for a successful surgery and for your entire family. Regarding your video let me say a few things. The leaks that come out do so with the manufacturers blessing. Someone described it as "smart, free marketing" and I agree. Jasper & Igor & OsitaLV only are sharing with us the information that has been presented to them. The excitement is still there. Viewership on my weekly shows skyrocket when there is news of a new drone. My follow up videos attract a lot of attention. Speculation about pricing, specs, and availability are discussed under the caveat of "our educated guesses based on what we know". Release "parties" if you will continue the excitement on launch day. Unboxing and first flight videos are doing well. All of this excitement is a win for everyone. The two new rumors you talked about are actually on the FCC database so they are real. It's just a matter of time until DJI releases the product. All the best to you and your family.

I have and will more than ever, pray for your wife and you. Since yesterday, I’ve been hearing drips and drabs about the M4. As much as I would love to grab it as soon as it comes out. I’m not. Watching things over the years pretty much since the release of the original DJI FPV goggles and Air Units. Pretty much every major DJI release has followed the same steps. 1 - Rumours of drone 2 - leak images of drone in testing, not close ups. 3 - better leaked images 4 - Leaks of specs 5 - Leaks of packages It’s pretty clear all this information is getting released in order repeatedly it actually coming out of DJI for marketing. Otherwise DJI would of would of actively tried to shut down those leaks

You're absolutely right about the leakers. A drone hits the market, and almost all the details are already known. Still, the product launch itself remains the highlight. In the influencer era, this is actually the ideal approach: the goal is to get as many people as possible aware that something new is coming soon. The official NDA signatories have an additional role. They are the real beta testers. They play an absolutely crucial role and, of course, have the honor of contributing in a small way to the development. This feedback is extremely important and can also be seen as a pulse check for the product. Here, you need people who know what they’re doing - real social media professionals who understand the importance of their responsibility. The other matter isn't as serious as it seems. With the Neo, I noticed something interesting: someone got ahead of Jasper. I also saw the Jasper image myself, without his watermark. You need reach to effectively spread such an initial piece of information. Without Jasper, such info would literally get lost. This became clear with a product from a competing company. There was a leak about the launch of a new drone from Autel Robotics. It was essentially a modified Lite+ with a thermal imaging camera, receiving C1 classification for the European market - a first on the drone market. Yet this leak went unnoticed for about two weeks, until Jasper picked it up. Even then, the spread was sluggish, but it still hit the mark. The product is now on the market, but it's just not a DJI. Despite everything, I'm really looking forward to the two new DJI drones. In my view, the Mavic 4 is overdue since the Mavic 3 series has been flying with the same main camera/body. I see the Flip in an entirely different segment. To me, it’s the successor to the RoboMaster TT. And every now and then, speculation can be exciting too…

the mavic 4 is already registered with the FCC so it is considered an existing drone, it will not be affected by any upcoming changes.
