Aww, Kyle, Torie, a new baby! Tommy is really cute, and he looks very healthy. Torie is definitely the baby vervet whisperer, when he fell asleep on her neck, he looked like, 'momma, I missed you!". I love learning new things and Kyle you always teach me something. I knew nothing about bush babies, I didn't realize how tiny they are! I don't know about the Vervet monkey species in particular but if I judged by what I have learned with Macaques, are the chances good that the new baby was from a high rank. He's VERY well fed and cared for, bold and demanding. The baby monkeys I have learned about (via years of video and documentaries alone), most of the ones found in such good shape had to have had good care. Maybe humans had kept it as a pet and actually cared for it but if so, they sure let him go awefl fast.

Look at those ears!!! He is so very cute! How do you guys do it? I can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt or kill these beautiful monkeys. Even when they are adults they are beautiful. I have been an animal advocate and worked for the humane society for over 14 years and still to this day can't figure out for the life why anyone could deliberately hurt animals or just not care enough about them or their habitats to consider they where there first, way before those farmers and people. All animals have a place in this world and are so important to the eco system in their original home land. My heart fills to big sometimes and I get so discouraged when I see or deal with people who just don't get it. There are mean and next to sadistic evil comments and I wonder what this world is coming to? Sometimes feel that some people just don't care enough and it is so exhausting to deal with hateful people. I wish more people cared more.
