The average return for institutional investments (professionals dealing with billions of dollars) is 9.5%. The average return for professional asset managers is slightly higher at 10.5%. These people do nothing but analyze data, market movements, and even then their predictions are not that great. I don’t know how these regular Chinese people who probably can’t even read a company’s financial reports would think they will make a killing in the stock market.

I have most of my money on a stock that goes up and down like a yo-yo. But. It pays great dividends and is a solid company so I buy more when it goes down and pocket the dividend. I have a few more white hairs but so far so good.

Honestly it is very unlikely. Japan took 30 years to bounce back fully and their stock market has never been that strong. Unlike Japan China does the opposite of what every financial expert says you should. They panic sell on afternoon drops and load up on exit pumps, and they all seem to try and do it at exactly the same time. That's not how the stock market works. For example: if an individual stock price falls, it means there are more sellers than buyers and the market maker has to lower the bid price. It will continually adjust the price to meet the share demand. There is no transfer of money. The price is purely based off supply and demand of the market. That's why in normal markets ie the US, high volume days usually represent negative days. Even a reasonably up trend, the volume doesn't spike to the highs.
