You just do great job and are a lot of help. I think I can sharpen my tools now and got laguna 15-24 and now maybe I can start turning
@MikePeaceWoodturning3 жыл бұрын
You can do it!

Great piece of educational instruction, Mike, and a great project. I sincerely look forward to watching you add the threaded insert at the top. I'm assuming that the threads will be from black plumbing fixtures?
@MikePeaceWoodturning3 жыл бұрын
No, I did an earlier video using threaded plumbing fittings. This one will wooden threads.

I got my new PM 3520C a few weeks ago. This project is one that I've been wanting to do, but couldn't quite get that accomplished on my little Nova Comet II. As always, thanks for this excellent video!

Excellent! I know you will enjoy it. I am trying to decide if selling my B model and getting a C model is worth it.

@@MikePeaceWoodturning Mike FWIW ... I teach at a college with 8 B-models in the shop, and I have a C at home. Once you turn on a C, you'll never want to go back the B's!

I demonstrated on one at the Portlad Symposium and really like it.

Hi Mike -- this is a great way to do a big hollowing project, thanks for the idea. I assume the urn will change shape when it dries -- go more oval in cross section? Do you plan to do anything to deal with the shape change when you start working on it after it dries?
@MikePeaceWoodturning3 жыл бұрын
We shall see. With the pith going thrugh the middle, I would not expect much shape change other than shrinkage around the opening which needs to be stable when I add the collar.

Mike, good video, but what is the HF that you mention in your title ?
@MikePeaceWoodturning3 жыл бұрын
Hollow Form. My bad for assuming someone wood know all of the acronyms. I updated the title. Thanks for catching that.

@@MikePeaceWoodturning Thanks Mike for the clarification. I apologize for missing such an obvious acronym, however I do draw blanks sometimes.

I wish you could have cored that and not wasted the middle. Nice piece though, looking forward to seeing it finished.

Not sure why I would want an end grain core. Coring systems are expensive. I do not turn large bowls so do not need one.
