I loved your description on how you felt passing a totally mature awesome deer. “I feel sick.” I’m definitely not to that stage. I pass a lot of deer many would shoot but not a mature deer. Great job.

Thanks at the time I had my heart set on that big big buck I call gimpy.. so passing these nice mature bucks is always a tough thing and I did feel sick. I'm not going to lie I would had never killed eaither one I couldn't had passed the big 20 inch wide 8pt on the first kill I'm a sucker 4 big 8pts that's my weakness lol and the 2nd hunt I couldn't had passed that buck with the doe eaither lol my hats off to u takes alot to b able to pass mature bucks like that but u knew what u wanted.. congratulations again bro awesome job

Yeah I was chasing a couple different ones than the ones I got and passed a bunch along the way.. but old father time was getting to me and I still wanted to harvest a couple mature bucks so I shifted gears and hunted the most killable bucks... thanks for watching man!

Congrats on those 2 awesome buck I'm hoping to lay eyes on some Giants in Kansas this year it will be my first time going to Kansas any advice for a fellow bowhunter how to hunt Kansas

For me it's really dead or really good. I just pick 2 or 3 stand locations and wait it out.. I had 3 days of nothing then on the 15th like I said in the video the same stand was fire I saw a ton. I feel like the deer have a long range there where I hunt because there's isn't big woodlots.. it's dried up creek bottoms that are lined with trees and then mostly Crp fields.. I usually just hunt the creek bottoms where they y out or split and I sit it out even if I don't see anything. Eventually they will be there from my experience.. this year will be much tougher because of the trail cam ban.. but it'll still be good

The best advise is valid anywhere you hunt, and that is not to overlook less traditional habitat. Open plains bucks versus hill country deer versus dairyland, versus nomadic Northwoods ranging deer… each space holds deer, you just need to think less and observe more. Overthinking can stress out your experience and push you to sit the types of spots you expect deer to be rather than observing hot fresh sign from boots on the ground or distant visual observation and hunting where that sign is telling you to setup.

Yeah I'm 41, been hunting with her for a while now.. I do the scouting and what not for her, set the stands mostly for her and she seems to get it done.. she drew a tag for iowa here in 2023 so I went down with her, it was our first time to Iowa and she tagged out on a great public buck! That video is coming out this fall!

@@josephbraund3483 that’s AWSOME these are the memories that no one can replace or take from us. My daughter left for the Air-Force and is stationed in Italy until 2029 she was my hunting buddy. Now I started traveling out of state chasing whitetails on my own. I started in Ohio last year what a blast for eight days. This year I’m going to start learning how to film as well. I’m applying for Iowa and Kansas next month.

I wish I had friends that would travel to chase monster whitetails but my friends say there happy shooting 2yr old bucks there not paying to travel to shoot an animal they can shoot in there back yard. So I’m venturing to Ohio this November to start my quest. Good luck this season bud Archery season
