@@mrstarlord for me, eliminating gluten and sugar has improved my sinus congestion, that's why keto works. For some people, dairy free makes a difference to control symptoms, especially if you're Lactose intolerant. Lactose is a milk sugar and is just as bad as added sugar in your diet and you can continue to have symptoms. Hard cheeses, butter, heavy whipping cream are not a problem for most people, but milk, yogurt, and soft cheese can be more of a problem, possibly an allergy to casein, as well as lactose. Start keto and see what happens.

Iv'e had a lifelong problem with sinusitis having had two nasal polyp removal operations. Yes, the foods that we eat have had a lot to do with my up and down condition. Can you imagine that for most of my adult life that I've been a mouth breather all because of a stack of dormant polyps that enlarge once infected by the common cold. And I've had no sense of smell for as long as I can remember. But just this last year I started eating Almond nuts and more recently Walnut halves, and all of a sudden my nasal passages are totally clear. And today when I was out and about I could actually pick up smells and aromas in my Street of local shops. And last week I bought a Mint plant which I can smell, be it 75% of smelling sensation. It was wonderful. So a few weeks ago I stopped eating those nuts as an experiment, and yes it was back to full nasal blockage. By consuming the Almond nuts Iv'e noticed that I start to get a runny nose. This I can only guess is what must be nasal drainage taking place and then I start to once again breathe through my nose. Also I quit sugar several years ago replacing it with honey ( for tea or coffee) but funniest of all I use only bottled water in my morning daily cereal breakfast....not milk. Dairy has been the biggest evil in my lifetime of Sinusitis. And the worst offender to this ailment is cheese. Today I'm smelling my Mint plant with clear nasal passages. But I can't help think that it has much to do with these nuts, and particularly my recovery has sped up with the discovery and addition of Walnuts along with hot lemon and honey drinks ( Vitamin C). I refuse to spend a life on tablets and medication. There's something to be said for wonder foods. I think that many people's ailments can be set off by the wrong foods.

I have suffered from Sinusitis due to DNS and also carried it hereditarily. Suffered in silence for years with no treatment. Over the years i started doing some research on myself. I realised that fungus loves an acidic medium , so i alkalize and hydrate my body with vegetables and fruits that have water content. This has helped. I have noticed that certain foods activate the dormant fungus in the sinus and ear canal. I crave iron at that time. The healthly mucosal lining is inflamed and its very painful . Anti inflammatories to the rescue until the fungus completes its lifecycle. The horrendous saga lasts for about a week. So now I always watch what I eat .The best way is to deprive the fungus of it's food which is sugar , dairy and carbs feed ut on bittergourd once a week coz it's intolerant to bitter foods. Zero sugar, dairy free for 20 years now and very little carb in a day. Complex carbs and veggies, lentils and nuts have kept me going. Unlike the monthly sinus saga, now sinusitis is probably down to once in 6 months on average.... Thank you dr.Berg . I have been trying in vain to explain this to doctors so they can treat me with the appropriate medication to eradicate the fungus once and for all but they simply refuse to believe that its a fungual infection in the first place and had always put me on antibiotics which weakened my immune system. You are the only doctor who has identified sinusitis as a fungal infection. You are my go to man for all my health issues coz you speak with logic and reasoning and are constantly helping people who seek answers and solutions.

I've had sinus, ear, and allergies since I was a child. I also have autoimmune disease. A few years ago I suffered from sinusitis, took antibiotics for 4 months, without relief. I also had a CT scan that showed chronic inflammation. During that same time I was reading about eliminating gluten to help reduce inflammation related to thyroid disease and improve symptoms of fatigue (yes, I had low iron), digestive problems, brain fog, etc. After 1 month gluten free, my sinus problems were gone! No antibiotic could cure what I had, but eating gluten free made a huge difference. I stayed gluten free for over a year, until my GI doctor told me I tested negative for Celiac disease and shouldn't bother eating gluten free. Of course I slowly started eating gluten again, even though I felt better gluten free. That was in 2007. I've been on and off gluten free over the years, but realized gluten out of my diet makes a difference in how I feel, and I probably have gluten intolerance. Over the last 4 years, I've had a few bad episodes of ear infections, the last one being in January 2019, when I was having not only sinus problems, but having a bald spot on the top of my head. The dermatologist said I had an "inflamed" scalp. That was the light bulb moment when I realized I was having inflammation issues again related to my diet. I eliminated gluten again, but also started keto diet in August 2019. I no longer have any sinus problems, but I'm seeing an ENT doctor regularly, using a saline rinse, I take a daily allergy pill, plus 2 nasal inhalers. At this point I'm maintaining and avoiding any surgical procedures. With Thanksgiving holiday last week, I indulged in some higher carb options (sweet potato, butternut squash, gf apple pie, gf pumpkin pie). I started having nasal congestion that night, even though I'm gf, on meds! Two days of indulging and I was already having symptoms. I'm better now, but it took a couple more days on strict keto to get back on track. For me gluten and sugar is a trigger to eat more carbs (I'm also insulin resistant) and negatively affects my mucus membranes. I'm definitely lactose intolerant and have occasional grated cheese with certain dishes, but use 1/4 tbsp of butter (Kerrygold brand) in my coffee, plus hwc. Changing my diet has helped tremendously with my inflammation and reduced symptoms, plus weightloss!

I started suffering from allergies/sinus problems back in 2016. All I’ve done to try & fix it was take antibiotics & take an antihistamine once a day. Well I got the flu in November of 2022…then a clogged ear…then an ear infection, was diagnosed with ETD, then caught COVID, now I have a sinus infection. This is the absolute worse that I’ve ever felt. I have a CT Sinus done & my ENT Specialist said that I have Sinus Disease. I heard “disease” & my mind went blank. I wanted to cry so bad bc I don’t want to have surgery, I’m terrified. May nasal passages are very inflamed. What can I do naturally to cure this? I am going to schedule an appointment with someone else for a second opinion. I just want this GONE or much better. I’ve neglected this for too long & now I have to do something about it. I’m so scared. Please, what can I do?
@cm_mb Жыл бұрын
@@Unek0777 have you read my original post up above? I had the same problems you are experiencing and suffered for many years. The only thing that helped break the inflammation cycle was gluten and sugar free. You have to change your diet if you want to be healthier. It starts from there, but it might take 2 to 4 months. I experienced relief in the first week. Give it a good 6 months to heal, if necessary. If all else fails, try whatever the doctor recommends. Getting a second opinion might be worth it, but try dietary changes first. It might be worth seeing an allergist as well, to see what offending items in your life can be eliminated. Maybe it's not gluten, but something else. Also, what is ETD?

After a few years went on for hardcore sutra neti, now I have a headache once per month when I drink beer, or do some vigorous exercise but nearly always manageable without tablets. One thing that helps me to calm any pain is to breathe deeply through one nostril only, alternate about 10 times, preferably outside. Doing a prolonged 'aum' also helps against congestion, I can sense everything vibrate aroung my temple when I do the sound, and that helps to get the mucous to flow down. Maybe people who think yoga is some form of paganism won't like to do this, but for all other persons who don't mind, that is a very powerful and healing sound.

Since starting Keto, I"ve noticed that I do not wake up with stuffed sinuses anymore. If I slip and have too many carbs, I will pay for it in the morning by trying to clear the back of my nose for an hour in the morning. I've only been on Keto a couple of weeks, and I have experienced so many benefits already.

Dr. Berg! Help!!! I have tried many forms of vitamin D and Zinc and they always make me feel sick. Nausea and sometimes vomiting. I have tried taking them with food. I have tried before a meal, during and after. I have tried lower doses! Is it possible to get enough from food as a vegetarian??? What’s wrong with me and why can’t I take these vitamins? I have even tried your brand. Please help!!!!
@angelhelp3 жыл бұрын
Breathing through my nose is the exception rather than the rule. I started keto last Ash Wednesday and have seen minor improvement at best. Zinc makes me nauseous. Using a neti pot or otherwise physically adding liquid to that part of my body is a guaranteed way to make me vomit. Eating garlic is something I’ve done for the past 30+ years. Taking vitamin D began with the pandemic. That leaves fasting... we shall see. It takes at least an hour after going to bed before the post-nasal drip slows enough to allow me to fall asleep, but what’s really happening is the downhill side of my head is filling with snot. When I roll to my other side, the post-nasal drip resumes its usual intensity, and it can be another hour or more before I can ease back into sleep. I take a decongestant 3x a day just to stay functional enough to get through a day. I’d have to take diphenhydramine to dry the secretions enough to bypass the post-nasal drip somewhat, but then the sinuses fill to very uncomfortable levels and once again prevent proper sleep. One day, if I’m lucky, I may actually get enough sleep to feel rested as opposed to being awake due to life’s obligations.
@bethmiller68273 жыл бұрын
You need to cut back, then eliminate decongestants. Rebound effect is causing your symptoms, probably.. Cut out all sugar, dairy and wheat.

I had been a sinus sufferer since I was in my late 20’s (now 61). Two sinus surgeries and all the sinus infections with antibiotics, too many to count. About six months ago, I saw a video from Dr. Allan Mandell about aspirating kimchi juice. Within a week I was clear, and my ears were popping for the first time in a long time. Kimchi juice has been a life changer for me!

It's more than that....the headaches can be really bad, and you feel pain behind your nose and eyes...sore throat sometimes.. The congestion does not only mean a stuffy nose.
