The kind of mum-of-the-year that would stand close and watch her kids eaten by a bear. When a seal is captured, they die. Thats the natural way of things. They are not equipped to understand the concept of their kids being rescued.

I am 61 yrs old. Im from Nebraska and I have been hardened to the core from my lifes experiences. Watching what you guys do for these creatures, asking nothing in return made me cry today. I haven't done that in 30 yrs. Keep up the great work and may God love you all.

Agreed! The tools survive sweat, salt water, sand, and plastic and goop, day after day. Just folding and unfolding them, the sand grit inside the moveable parts has to be brutal. I am always surprised the net zippers don’t just fall apart in their hands, after all the abrasion!

I'm pretty sure they're medical grade scissors. The ones paramedics and emergency services use to cut away clothing during a rescue. They're heavy duty quality and absolutely fantastic.

Thank you for all you do. Used to get mad at the fishermen for this. Then seen videos of tsunamis, no wonder so much trash in the oceans. Would be nice if countries from around the world that are along oceans could mount an effort to try and cleanup some of this garbage. Won't happen but at least a good thought? ♥️🦭🦭♥️

It seems like the seals are getting less afraid of you... Several times now a seal/seals you are not freeing have stayed nearby during the rescue rather than going into the sea. They are figuring out you are the good guys!

Nature has this mechanism where if animals help each other for long enough in mutual interest, they develop in symbiosis. If they keep it up long enough and with many of them, they might not run, but that's a very long term Investment.

Two young friends were commiserating on the beach until two men ran after and caught them. The pup with the bigger entanglement turned out to be the easier to take off while the other was a bit more problematic but resolved. Tension off, do well, young seals. Thanks, Naude and Denzil.

The two pups had no idea they were going to be rescued from that horrible entanglement. Very happy the other seal pup is healed up. Your job is the most important job you do 🙂 for the seals.

Watched this months ago, twice, happily, so I watched it again. Great teamwork. I don't think I caught the mother seal the other times while the rescue was ongoing. Had to rewind to see her curiously watching. Love it when I catch something I did not the first time I view it. I know she was shown at the end but seeing her before that was a treat.
