Probably more along the lines of "Ow! My tongue! You jerk! ...Wait... what are you doing? This makes no sense. You aren't going to eat me now? Are you toying with me? Will you just grab me again if I run, and eat me later? What kind of twisted predators are you, letting your prey think they can escape? Okay, you don't look so smart... I'll just lull you into thinking I'm beaten and accepted my fate as dinner, wait for you to grunt some more to each other... and... Ha! Speed mode on! I'm away like a speeding shark! Can't catch me! Bye, losers! No dinner for you!"

Mike Jensen - Please look up personification and projection. There’s a much larger chance those seals are thinking “why is this thing chasing me, is it going to eat me? Wait... I feel better now! I’m O.K.! I’m FREE! I’m outta here!” Some humans are predators like you describe, but those humans have nothing to do with “these humans” who are “seal angels.” 😁

I have livestock. Chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, etc. I have often run into a flock or herd and had to single out one animal to catch with a net. After doing this on a regular basis for many years now, I will say, these dudes are freaking amazing. That is absolutely difficult to do, even with animals that are regularly fed and cared for by humans. I can't even imagine being able to do this with wild animals. These guys do an amazing job.

Not to downplay this effort by the OCN team in any way. The cameras used are GoPros which have a very wide angle lense which makes the seals appear further away than they really are. None the less, it is still an awesome feat of team work, strength and dedication to find, capture and treat these seals. Pretty sure none of the OCN has the desire to go to the gym for a workout after work…. 😉

That was so interesting with number 9. He was so mad at first and snapping at you all but it was like he knew you were helping him and just let you do what you needed to, even felt comfortable enough not to panic and scatter immediately after you let go. Amazing animals!

@BaldUglyMonkey There is a world between humanizing animals and thinking humans are completely unique in every single way. Elephants have been shown to be able to mourn the death, dolphins can recognize there own mirror image etc. Honestly is it to far fetched to think this seal realised he was being helped, instead of attacked?
