@@Bubby1100 That would be awesome, super stealth. I wonder how that works though, is there a camera inside the glasses or it beams the video somewhere else? Either way I'm guessing they aren't cheap. If it was a realistic possibility I would certainly consider it.

The best way is to befriend some locals, have some convos and drinks with them. They will be open up, take you around and be ok to be filmed. Maybe they will take you to other people you can interview and chat. If you point the camera at strangers people get defensive. It is always best to talk first without a camera and explain the purpose, let the locals know what aspects of their culture you appreciate. I was once in Jamaica, where an old schoolmate moved from Europe and bought a small hotel. It was in Negril and too touristy. he had told me locals did not like to be photographed. I rented a bike and went to the countryside. The people were amazing. I took a lot of photos and they were all OK. Jamaica is similar to Antigua, with less infrastructure and a little rougher. Human interaction is always best before camera interaction, especially in the Caribbean.

as world travelers we always have spontaneous and down to earth, real conversations with so many interesting people. Those authentic reactions are what allow people's true character to come out... and getting those on camera can be really difficult or invasive. Usually older people don't notice any different and there's a a certain way to do it, and younger people might notice and get nervous or start to act different. Anways, respect. Many traveler Vloggers are always patronizing towards the locals but you're never that way.

As an Antiguan, here's a few Creole "Broken English" slang words and phrases I can teach you: I'm not going to take it, in our dialect, is phrased "ME NAH TEKK UM!" Thief or steal is pronounced in our dialect as "TIEF"... just take the H out. We pronounce Eat It as "NYAM UM" We say Yes as HOW and No "TARLL", taking it from "Not at all." Just a few... hope it helps. By the way, I enjoyed watching this video, and I hope you enjoyed Antigua 🇦🇬!

Antigua was the home port of French pirates in the 18th century. Later taken by the British. The fort is mainly for spottng pirate ships. Just like the Venician forts on the Greek coastline. The cliffs of these beaches could be raised coral reefs.

Regarding that about filming and getting some ugly stares or comments about being filmed is annoying. I have had it happen to me quite a lot recently but I keep on walking like Johnny Walker. Nice ruins at the top there with an unreal site GABE. How often are you uploading content these days Gabe and are you happy doing it as such? Gabe in the futureyou could look up the the access to beaches as in some countries it´s illegal to restrict public access to beaches. In Tulum, Mexico I was told it was illegal to prohibit that access but those beach front hotels were doing it anyway. In Playa Del Carmen they cannot don that as much as they would love to. The Paradisus hotel beach resort cannot do that and everyone walks or jogs along the beach or swims in it. I did it like 8 times.

Why Dickenson's Beach? Did poet Emily Dickenson visit Antigua and work on her writing there? 140 a night, how much is that in US dollars?

I'm curious about your New York video as to where it fits in. Was that stop on your way to Antigua from Ireland? Keep up the great work Gabe.

This video was when I flew from Ireland to New York: kzbin.info/www/bejne/anXPpXegqJKrp5o At the beginning I mention that I was only there for one night and had a flight the next morning. That was my flight to Antigua. After spending nine days in Antigua I caught a flight back to New York City and filmed one more video there, which will be the next video.
