Thanks! I'll have to rewatch it and see what I did to make it helpful, but short, ha! Enjoy #GettingSeattime & Stay #Stoked! 🤘🏻🤙🏻⚡️

Great job! I do it that way on all my YZs.

What sort of torch should be used please? Propane? Apparently Butane won't heat the pipe enough.
@SeatTime11 ай бұрын
I started using MAP because it burns hotter. Good for metal on the bike and bearings, worthy of being cautious when using it in the pipe (thinner metal)!

Yeah i don’t think i’ll ever forget my first time. I made a homemade tool to seal the ends and it blew off, still unsure if i got compressed air under my skin 😬
@SeatTimeАй бұрын
WOW! Using this tool scares me enough. I don't think I'd EVER try a home made version of blowing out a pipe!!!!!

There is a kit which uses water instead of heated air. It’s way safer. Hydra Force.

I’ve seen it, and want to give it a try. But I also had to try the more dangerous version as well!

Does the blue outter line around the dent from the heat end up disappearing or does it stay there forever
@SeatTime4 ай бұрын
Sometimes you'll see them fade away, but I typically see them to some degree after blowing out a massive dent.
@didumss5 ай бұрын
Hey team do you have to take the pipe off to be able to heat and pop the dents out or can you leave it on the bike while doing it? Thanks!!
@SeatTime5 ай бұрын
You’ve got to take it off so you can cap off the end. Whether using water or heat, you’ll need it off the bike.

haha, dude, SO SKETCHY! And I already have to do it again :|

Maybe a body hammer would work with those little dents. The pointed side is for shrinking metal. That body and metal bending is hard to master from what I've heard. Done some cold bending and have straighten a sub frame from a loop out. Its hard!
@SeatTime Жыл бұрын
I think you're right. Maybe for the next pipe I'll get a bi more crafty. Hopefully I don't blow anything up... 💥

Damn looks cool! Was the process add heat add pressure add heat add pressure until it popped back?
@SeatTime Жыл бұрын
That was the process in the beginning. On the later on dents, I started bringing the pressure up to about 70-80, heating, and if I really needed too, adding more pressure up to 90psi. I REALLY didn't want to go over 90psi...
@TheChaz81 Жыл бұрын
@@SeatTime so boom straight to 80 and heat. Then at 10 more on the tuff ones!

I don’t know that it’s that cut and dry, but maybe it’s a good place to start. The small, sharper dents were certainly tough to get out. I feel those might need a bit more love and finesse.

Heat and shrink the small sharp dents
@SeatTime Жыл бұрын
Talk me through what that might look like.
@anthonyleary72714 ай бұрын
@@SeatTime smaller sharp dent you can heat until dull red then use a cloth soaked in ice water this will shrink the metal structure. With dents you'll need to do it several times but it will help with the odd wrinkles as the metal gets stretched when it is dented. a bit of warning it can and will also move the pipe around as it shrinks one spot it can pull a bend so things don't line up. Look up heat straightening of tubing and rolls its often used on industrial machine rolls

wow, I pumped up to 140psi lol

Caution: it can burst like compressor tank.
@SeatTime3 ай бұрын
I have a friend who did that EXACT thing. SCARY MOMENTS. I'm trying to watch the pressure gauge like a hawk!!!
@krazed045111 ай бұрын
PSI = Pounds per Square Inch... More surface area, more pressure pushing the metal ;-)
