Absolute kickass bike. I've got an '05 YZ125 and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up also getting a YZ250 at some point, and this is the pinnacle dream configuration for one to have. Didn't know about that RTech plastic kit. I have the UFO restyle kit on mine, which I like, but since it still uses the stock tank which has graphics on it, the white accents on my tank graphics have turned yellow. Ditching the stock tank would be a treat.
@yamahakid450f2 жыл бұрын
There's 10k or more plus the bike cost... but damn is it gorgeous. Better than a new YZ! Infact, only thing different on the 2022 to the 2006 is in the airbox and intake to get more air. Idk if it would but since the frame should be the same, he could get an intake off a 22 YZ and get more air to the big bore, or just drill some holes as long as he doesnt go over board. The brakes are slightly different in stock trim compared to the 06 but he took care of that and then some... best thing about a YZ/F, SSS forks! I've had bone stock SSS suspension straight off the showroom without even touching clickers and they were better than most of my bikes that I've had sent to Marshall Plumb. And he does amazing work. If you get some SSS suspension and send his way, it'll blow your mind when you get it back. Those forks were way ahead of their time when they came out in 2006, still the best stock fork by far in my opinion. It's hard to get a fork that plush snd still have hold up

What a top bloke for letting you ride it i gotta take my hat off to him and like you said i wouldn't want to get it dirty, i have done something similar with my 99 model cr125 but haven't gone as far as titanium bolt's and it's nearly finished and im so scared to get it dirty or scratch my sm pro platinum rim's with the talon hubs ,it sounds like me and him had something similar happen, i brought the bike and apparently it had just had this and that done to it and won't have to fix a thing well that was all bullshit and everything i touched or looked at needed fixing or replacing so the nut and bolt restoration began but atleast i have a basically brand new bike even though it's 20 something years old it looks like a sexy bit of a bike

Kudos on the complete rebuild! Quick question: I saw another 325 big bore review, and one of the negatives was that there was noticeably more shake around the handlebars because of the larger displacement. Was that effect noticeable on this build? and can you compare it to other comparable models (e.g., other big bores and the KTM 300sx? stock or modded) Thanks again! I really love these 2-strokes. I guess it's because they're all I know (rode in the 90s), but I also cannot get my head around the steep price/maintenance and weight of 4-strokes.

I had a 2019 yz125 and a 2021 yz125x. Kept fouling plugs in both bikes continually and not because I can't ride. Maybe the new design with the new carb will be different. Not going fuel injected in my opinion is a mistake.
