Minder stupide inderdaad. Er is toch wel wat mis met onze romantische droom, hoor... Hij is gewoon onbereikbaar. De realisatie hiervan betekent dat we minder teleurstellingen hoeven te verwerken. Daar gaat deze episode ook over. En dat is dus goed voor ons.

Heya Robbie, yes this might be considered as part 1 of a conclusion. Part 2 is in the making. And whenever I film myself in the mirror (usually not even on purpose), I always say to the reflection: "O Hi Hitchcock".

Thanks for the comliment! We are here to stay. Been busy with our familyhouse. This eats alomost all of our time. And yes, there are many sites/fora and many people that share their thoughts and experiences. But we can share our findings first hand. It is a pattern we discovered through experience.

Hi Chromeluxx. Indeed, alas our site is currently down. One of the wordpress plugins is infected with malicious code. We are working on it aws. to get it up and running.

Honestly, why wouldn't good houses go to locals? Do you think that if it was the other way around locals would be happy about you being there, like it's happening in Spain, with people getting angry already? The only sensible approach, IMO, is to buy a place that locals won't and turn it into something valuable. Then you're bringing something into the community, otherwise you're just helicoptering money.

Large chunks of Italy are filled with towns that once held thousands and now only have a few hundred inhabitants. Italy is begging for people to move into them and re-energize them. This will provide more jobs and draw families once again to live there. It's a win-win situation. Most Italians do not want the larger, derelict properties. Not only are they expensive to renovate, the taxes on your land footprint are very high. In fact, the tax rate for Italians making over €50k is approximately 43% and land tax is high. Facts matter, my friend.

Hi Susanne, thanks for your kind and wise words. We film as we experince the properties, we also don't know what we can expect and we can't turn a viewing into a fimset. But yes, you are right...we could do with some light. And us in the mirror...it is a kind of thing from us. Can't resist the temptation. All the music is our own, so we kinda like it. It also helps with the rhythm.
