This is my 3rd track day of 2022 (Note: I made a mistake on the date in the video. This day was not 7/16/22, but 9/16/22.) and it was awesome. Why? Well, I was blessed with an opportunity to meet a Club Racer and he gave me two tips that completely changed how comfortable I was in the braking zone on the track. The 1st tip was to drop down one extra gear in the slower corners (from 3rd to 2nd), and 2nd was to down shift a fraction of a second before going to the brakes. Things I've heard before, but for whatever reason it clicked when he said it. I don't know why. Mo...thank you sir, you have helped me more than you might ever realized. Long Distance "High 5" brother!! Once I get comfortable utilizing these suggestions my timing and pace into the corners will get a lot better and I can't wait.
My Stuff:
2016 Yamaha R1, FlashTune ECU (Bikeside Harness), Graves Performance Carbon Fiber SlipOns w/MJS mid-pipe and some other cool stuff. Most HP Gain came from Red R1 Brake Res. Cover, which got worn out.
LS2 Helmet
Hero 7 Helmet Cam w/Insta 360 for the bike
Alpinestar Perforated Jacket (red and white)
Sidi Boots (white leather), with those strapy things
Alpinestar Gloves, with those strapy things
Resolve 17 Studio Editing software
Badass Gaming PC (Windows 10)
and of course Dees
BF4 Gamer tag I_am_la11 (oh and BF1 sucks)
"WALL" clan cuz this World is made of WALLS and those WALLS need to be defended by men with guns.
Oh, and don't forget to New Jack Swing on Dees

In all honesty this is was probably my 9th or 10th track day, but this one was the one I feel I got the most out of. They are were awesome, but this one I was finally able to feel like I was braking under control, thanks to Mo's tips. Now I feel like my improvement going forward will be a lot better. Thanks again for commenting...it means a lot.

Your body position looks very good. Not sure your experience level but some of the best technique info i found on youtube which helped me move from beginner to intermediate to advanced to podium finish racer came from Simon Crafer on his motovudu channel. He has a series of 36 videos i think which provide a wealth of info. Maybe you have seen it already, idk. There is only one thing he teaches which i believe is outdated The rest of the info is spot on. The one outdated piece is related to sliding forward against the tank during hard braking and through the turn. I believe ycrs teaches that best by having me sit with a small gap between crotch and tank as opposed to being all the way forward against the tank.

Hey man, thank you so much for your comment and your input. I have only had, I believe 9 track days, and I ride very conservative on the street, so I would say ... I am not too experienced, especially going fast leaned over. I really appreciate the tip on SImon. I have seen a ton of his videos, but most of his tips probably went right over my head. I need to go back thru them with an intend to learn vs just for entertainment. BTW, thank you for watching to the end of my video and seeing my pics of my BP. At this stage, my BP is the one thing I can practice on consistently HaHa. I think, with the help of Mo, that my corner entry is going to get a lot better, so really focusing on hitting those Apexes (which I don't do very often LOL) and developing bigger balls to take corners a little faster is my next real choir. Be good and be kind brother. I will be watching your channel. God speed. La

Nice dude. Looking good. Your T3 is actually really good. A lot of people struggle on right handers.

Bro...thank you so much for the compliment my man...it means a lot. I know I have a long way to go, but I am really hoping I can make some headway, now that I think I might have a little easier time in the braking zone. It is funning you mentioned "right handers" because, for whatever reason, I have always been a little more comfortable going right then left, though that has kinda balanced out a little now that I am using my eyes a little better. Please keep posting your races man...I am enjoying the view and trying to learn as much as I can from ya. Be safe man... La

I am sure u notice all the little things I am doing wrong😂😂. If I can see them, you certainly can. The one thing you probably can't see is the difference in confidence you provided to me in the braking zone. It is gonna take me a while to get the timing down now on corner entry, considering I now feel more in control and can slow down better, but that's a good problem to have. I know I have a long way to go and am truly hopeful that we can somehow find a way to be at the track again on the same day. Until then, be good bro... La

@@IamLaR1 We'll talk scheduling soon and make it a point to get a day in for improvement. To be honest, you have a solid base to build on. Your body positioning is correct and brake/throttle applications are smooth! It's always best to have those established first, as many riders (myself included) make or have made the mistake of adding those fundamentals after speed instead of prior to. And it's never so easy to teach new tricks behind bad habits... so you are going the right direction at the right time. I look forward to seeing you out there next season, and always a pleasure to help a fellow Yamaha guy 😉

Hey man, thanks for commenting...I too have no ego. I have found that ego is the destroyer of all relationships, especially that most important one with our good lord. Anyway, I am trying to get faster, but its not that big of a goal. Meeting new people and making new riding buddies will always be more important.
