Seeing Jonathan’s portrayal of Jesus in this makes my heart break, I have never seen Jesus portrayed in such a humble way that makes you feel like you’re right in the action like in The Chosen. As many times as I have seen the crucifixion portrayed throughout my church and bible college history, this made me catch my breath...more incredible acting by Roumie...we need more of these types of films/shows to remind us of all He sacrificed for us. In that moment Jesus felt the pain from every human. He felt it from every human to know the thieve on his left was forgiven. That the thief on his left learned on this earth. That the pain he underwent grew his soul. He showed him proof that he knew his pain. “Lord, why have you forsaken me”. The man then asked why it is that he doesn’t tell the people they are wrong. “Forgive them, for they know not what they do” And that’s when he knew that he was the messiah. Because that answer wasn’t human, it was divine.

Dallas has a way of bringing such emotion and faith to the screen. His love of The Lord shines as always. Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus shows such love and compassion. His faith oozes through every action, line, and even the moments of silence.

I do want to point out the incredible acting of the two thieves. I would be so happy to see them continue in the chosen as the two thieves. This was so well done. I don’t know what I expected but when I heard him said “you are going with the carpenter” my jaw dropped and I was like “nooooooo” knowing what this suddenly meant. When he said “as this for a carpenter…” I felt that. So good

One of the men in the cell at the beginning of this movie is the same man who played Moses in The Chosen - when the Old Testament scenes starts the episode starts. Forgot the Episode - I think it was a scene early in Season 2, I think. Overall this is soooo good and touching as ALWAYS. YAH BE PRAISED!

So heartbreaking but I can't help but believe Jonathan was born to play this role. Seems his portrayal is divinely guided... I've never seen anyone that can make you feel like you're really there with the real Yehoshua, like Jonathan does. Truly a gift from God. N I feel the very same way about Dallas Jenkins n his writing of these stories n of the Chosen. Don't see how anyone could watch n not believe God is directing this Himself, so we all have one last chance to see n believe, before it's too late, n He calls us Home, n leave the rest behind for good.... we'll never know until we meet Him, but my heart is sure every bit of this has God's hand directly in all of it.

The interruptions, especially during the Crucifixion scene, are horribly placed. I had a Lume commercial. Like really? Talking about pits and privates when Jesus was speaking to the thief....ugh. @@EHV8R That's not necessarily true. Content creators are free to choose _not to monetize_ a video which eliminates commercials. Obviously we want our content creators to get paid and depending on who's doing the funding, you can choose to have _all_ of your ads placed in the beginning, middle or the end of your video. I know some creators in the True Crime space do this, so as not to have interruptions during their documentary. To maximize monetization potential, you'd want to allow mid-roll ads placed at natural breaks in your videos. However, in a film such as this, _depending on the creators intention,_ it is sometimes better to forfeit the monetization knowing that your reward will be greater in Heaven. Again, it boils down to where their heart is in the matter. For example, a random director (not a Christian) could choose to make a film about Jesus the historical figure, and treat it as they would _any_ film they'd hope to make a profit on. Or, they might be a Christian creating a film about Jesus _with the explicit intention to further the Gospel_ (which is our duty as Christians) and having no desire to profit on Earth but rather to profit in Heaven. Regarding "rewards in Heaven" that a born-again Christian can earn, the Bible tells us in Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Stella, I was meaning that since they didn’t like the ad that they could pay to not have to be interrupted and the content creators do not determine the ad that they see. Now to say that they should be happy with their reward in heaven instead of a financial gain would eliminate ANY ministry from being paid for the same reason, and Dallas NEVER claimed to be a ministry! It’s wrong for you to suggest that Christians shouldn’t have to support Christian ministry with generous financial giving, and to expect it to be borne by someone else! Even only 5% of the people who watch The Chosen help financially and THAT is to the shame of those who don’t! What you don’t support goes away! If Christians were not so selfish there would be no reason for ads to support the work they put into their creation.

People are worshiping Jonathan who is a great actor, but he's not Jesus--nowhere close. None of us are. Remember, this is acting. Christ went through so much more then what is portrayed in acted roles. These films should inspire people to get into the word of God more. Don't stop at the films. Don't fall in love with Jonathan the actor, fall in love with Christ our Savior. Or you've made Jonathan your idol.

A thought provoking production in which logically such events outside of the crucifixion could have happened. Three guys in prison, one is freed the other two are also crucified. A little liberty is taken with the dialogues on the cross but in context to the thieves previous lives . Personalities of that day were well captured in this short movie. Thank you for making this video. It does give thoughts to ponder. A friend always !

This isn't how it went. The bible says both of the thieves mocked Jesus and cursed him but this shows only one of them doing that while the other one wasnt harsh with Jesus

I grew up around religion and rules...when I met Jesus, I was honestly angry because I'd been lied to. Id been told He was a gavel-banging killjoy that had lists of rules for me to follow....not the gracious, loving, absolutely amazing, holy God I met who just destroyed my pride by His amazing goodness and love. Believe on The Lord Jesus, and you WILL, not MAYBE be saved.

Thank you Jesus for setting us free from being slaves to laws. Making us slaves to death and hell. You forgive sin and set us all free and that is the real true blessing we all have. I have learned, all sin is forgiven, all the world is forgiven. Do you want to know why people go to hell? Because they do not want to be with God and that is why. They run from God and hate God and can go to heaven, even in sin as we are free from that because of God's sacrifice. But most do not want to go back home to God. When My eyes were open to this fact, i worried less and I prayed God my father even more. Sin is not a factor any longer and Jesus even said so. Now, it comes down to a choice. That is how much god loves us all. He gave The devil a choice and he choose his path. Now choose good and be with God.
