Q: Why are cars towed from your lot?
A: Because they're parked illegally and take up space our customers need, 24 hours.
Q: But it's night-time. Businesses are closed at night. Do you really have to tow at night?
A: Yes. This business is NOT closed at night. It's very common for techs to visit in the overnight times in order to do maintenance on servers and systems. It's also possible that deliveries may need to be made during after-hours times.
Q: You suck.
A: That's not a question, but I get the point. And I've heard it all before. I understand you think you've got a witty, original insult for me. You probably don't. Save yourself the humiliation.
Q: Do you read the comments?
A: Sometimes against my better judgement, generally, yes.
Q: Why don't you just rent out spaces and make money?
A: Because that would eliminate parking spaces for the real customers of the business. It's not worth the few bucks.
Q: Do you get paid a fee or kickback for the towed cars?
A: No.
Q: Are there signs posted about not to park?
A: Yes. No fewer than 6. Usually more if they're not damaged or destroyed.
Q: How many cameras do you have?
A: More than 60. Some you can see, some are hidden.
Q: What kind of cameras do you use?
A: A lot of different kinds, based on the application.
Q: Do you feel bad for these people who get towed?
A: Most of the time, not really.
Q: Why are you making fun of the people who get towed?
A: I'm not. I'm posting the videos because I think they're entertaining and educational.
Q: How come you never post videos of cars that belong there?
A: Because that wouldn't be entertaining at all. It would be completely boring.
Q: Why don't you stop people from parking?
A: Sometimes we do! It all depends on if we are able to catch what's happening live, but the company's techs have their jobs to do and are not always available to have their eyes glued to the parking lot cameras and be able to run outside.

I love it when they come back and stand where their vehicle used to be, trying to figure out what happened. Always reminds me of the episode of "All In The Family" when Michael broke Archie's chair and took it to get repaired. If they want to get rid of people parking illegally i would suggest an electronic sign that said "Cars towed in the last 24 hours" and give the tow truck drivers a remote and ask them to push a button every time they tow a car. The counter would increment one, and after 24 hours it would decrement that one. Maybe a bright red sign, that says how many cars HAVE been towed, instead of a dark "You risk getting towed here" sign, would probably do the trick.

Been towed from 2 apts this year. First one was one of my friends telling me I was good if I parked in a future resident spot. It's actually not safe. The other time, I was also told it was a good spot as long as it didn't have an awning. That wasn't safe either. Lesson: Don't park at apt complexes unless you live there.

I mean my apartment complex has a limited number of designated spaces for guest parking, those ones don't have car ports. They just don't want you to stay there for more than 24 hours, but if you have to for whatever reason you can ask the manager to see if it's OK given the circumstances. Asking the manager is probably your safest bet if you're visiting someone.

@@Lady-V Apartments suck to live in anyway. The rent is as much as a mortgage today and the neighbors can be sketchy as all get out. Parking lot nazism isn't cool at all no matter who you are. I've only parked at one apt complex that I'm absolutely comfortable with. Hate the city anyway and would rather live in a rent house that's in the country[as long as city dwellers don't bring their drugs and violent crime(s) with them when they move to the country.]

It's also pretty important since I need to have access to public transit to get around (I don't want a car because of the upfront cost and upkeep,, but my friends who visit do have cars) and the suburbs where the houses are have no public transit anyway.

Could never understand where that came from as shooting into water is not that easy due to the refraction and if the water fails to stop the bullet it will just punch a hole in the side of the barrel. Randy the saying is old enough that it would still be wood barrels not steel or plastic. As for where the barrels come from they only get imported if they come in full as it costs to much to ship them empty. Fluids it is cheaper to ship them in a large tank as you avoid voids barrels form and that works with things as thick as grease all the way down to light oils.
