Essentially two competing religions... One based on God with meaning and one based on the futility of existence for those who hold to it.

I make that point often too. The Evolutionist says he will go back to dust and that's it. Whether his view is true, or false, that's all he's going to have, whereas the believer and follow of Jesus as the Son of God will have eternal life in glory if he is right.

@@roydodds3693 In order for there to be an honest discussion of evolution, we must assume there was a time when absolutely nothing existed. If we start by assuming that, in the beginning, something existed, then we need to explain how that something came to be. Otherwise, we have not explained anything. Who, or what, created that something? That assumes a creator who created some-thing. And whoever or whatever created that something must be, at least, some kind of god. And that god, whatever he may be, must be eternal, or else, we are still faced with the question of where did he come from? Who or what created him? So the fantasy of evolution falls apart before we can ever state the premise. What was it that evolved to form that first particle of something that is the origin of everything that exists-and how did that original something come to be? The humble, Bible-believing child of God believes in an almighty, eternal God who created all things by the Word of his power. I am not sure that anybody who believes in the creative power of nothing is the sharpest knife in the box - regardless of how many initials he has after his name.

This book by Darwin is not about the origin of man, but provides the first plausible ideas about the higher development of living beings (and thus ultimately also for that of man). His ideas were still incomplete and partly erroneous, which is due to the lack of scientific knowledge about 160 years ago. Nevertheless, Darwin's approach is fundamentally correct. And we know far more today than Darwin could ever have dreamed of. This is why it has been called the theory of evolution since decades and not just a hypothesis or even an idea. The "Historical Genesis View" or paradigm is more logical or rational to me. Dr. Nelson presents a good convincing or persuasive presentation that to me is really a case for (what I believe and endorse) as "Intelligent Design" and its Originator The Transcendent/Immanent Creator (or GOD). Consciousness, Intent, Purpose, Thinking, Design and Will, all imply and strongly suggest INTELLIGENCE; whereas the "Conventional Paradigm" used by many scientists to govern laws in physics, chemistry, and biology are random or chance forces (erroneously argued to support Darwin's evolution and hence deny the existence of an Intelligent Designer or GOD); as this is a "blind, undirected process, without either plan or purpose." and which is NOT supported by the laws of mathematical probability; that atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and evolutionists advertenly or inadvertently use, that is, random forces and/or chance to support their unlikely views on the origins of life and the universe.

@Chazd19497 ай бұрын
BINGO !!! You beat me to it. It seems that many people who align with the YEC view are not really seeking good answers to how Christianity and science can both be true. Cherry-picking, confirmation bias, and other logical fallacies can be found throughout their writings and lectures. This doesn't mean they are not good Christians, nor does it question their sincerity, but when they become so dogmatic as to denounce other Christians calling them "compromisers," "heretics," and "false prophets," for believing that science clearly shows the universe to be billions of years old, as Ken Ham and some of his associates have done, then I believe the YEC advocates are not helping the church or the cause of Christ. The age of the universe should not define us or divide us as followers of Christ. In this age of atheistic hedonism, we need to embrace one another, recognizing that we hold various interpretations of Scripture while trying to be a light in a dark world. I hope some YEC brother who is on the fence will consider the position of another apologetics organization called Reasons to Believe, founded by astrophysicist, Hugh Ross and now led by biochemist Fazalla Rana.
