At the start I couldn't see your vision, i just thought that adventuring and city building just didn't work together. You proved me wrong sir.

So I've been silently watching you since your very first videos and I gotta say: Your progress is really impressive. Willard always looked like one of these aimless dream game projects which will never get finished. Now I can finally see/imagine what type of game you are trying to make - now I'm actually a bit excited for a demo! Willard's story still remains a mystery to me but I hope your demo will change that! Anyways just wanted to leave some motivational stuff here so ... feel motivated! You are on the right track :)

Thanks for sharing this! It’s super motivating to read. There’s definitely more on Willard’s story coming in the not-to-distant future.

Really enjoyed this one. You have come a long way since you started, and your game (especially your carecter animations) really looks good! I have been working on my own game for about 1.5 years now and your content has really helped me along the way. Look forward to some day bye and play Willard on PC/console. Keep up the good work!

Ei pretty cool video i joined your discord can i make a question as a new selflearn game dev should i speak my native language im my videos "Portuguese Portugal" or English
@NightRunStudio
@NightRunStudio 5 ай бұрын
Glad to have you join! It’s hard to say about language… I’m not sure how large the Portuguese community is… that said, if you’re most comfortable with it, then your videos will probably be best in it. Hard to say.

Just a thought-maybe you could make the invasions something you trigger but that you need to beat some amount to progress in some fashion? maybe they drop a resource needed to level up the town, or perhaps your townfolk get complacent when not under attack and dont want to build new things when what you have works just fine.
@NightRunStudio
@NightRunStudio 5 ай бұрын
Ooooh... I think there might be something there! It will definitely be important to make the attacks something you anticipate rather than an annoying interruption. Thanks for the ideas!

Hello Matt, I'm happy to know you through the lectures, knowledge and experiences you share through the videos you post. And I also have a dream, which is to create a world for myself. .Where I can unleash my creativity and develop my imagination. I really like playing games, it gives me many experiences not only in terms of gameplay but also in terms of plot. Indeed, that is my wish. but that's not simple to do. Currently I'm a student. I don't know anything about Coder or IT. I don't know anything about C#. In return, I can draw what I want to build in my head .This is not too difficult to design but still needs to be refined to be more perfect. I also started my game making journey 1 month ago. It was really confusing and lost, many times throughout the process.Writing Code also makes my mind tired. But I still have to continue. And I know you, you are like the person who shows me the way. The videos are very useful, it helps me shorten my goals. to aim for a faster route by focusing on big and focused goals. Such as the inventory system, Ai mindset, chest drop rate, etc. Anyway, I want to thank Matt for giving me the motivation very big on this “Adventure” trip. Thank you again and good luck completing your expedition. Cheers (English is written down when translating, sorry I'm not very good at English haha XD)

@NightRunStudio Well said. It's about the journey. The video told a great story. It was relatable to me as a fellow idiot on a journey fueled by curiosity and unfettered acces to KZbin and the internet. It's only a waste of time if you don't learn anything. You don't learn anything if you don't try, and you don't learn anything by giving up in the face of challenges. You, sir, are trying, learning, overcoming, and persevering. You're putting in the work to build on a solid foundation. I applaud your work thus far, and look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds. Cheers!
