Two years off benzos and antidepressants | Akathisia | The rough but worth it journey of healing

I am two years off benzos and antidepressants today! My journey has been so difficult but so worth it. I hope i can offer some comfort to others going through the same thing. Here is what I am left with after 24 months.

Hi Melissa , I have Akasthisia from an ssri . I live in Canada and can’t get anyone to diagnose me. They have given me a benzo and lyrica to cover it up ! Trying to taper and it’s hell ! My family believes that it is it anxiety . I cannot hang on any longer . Thank you for your story I’m so glad you have recovered . 🙏🏻❤️

I'm two years off benzos as well after cold turkey in rehab. I still have akathisia and soreness in my legs. I don't think I will ever heal.

I'm soooo happy to hear you're doing better. Your story has really touched my heart. I'm 4 months off for the second time. I too had a very bad adverse reaction with all the symptoms you had. I did not have the violent muscle spasms (thank God). I was on celexa and xanax almost 20 years. I'm doing OK. Not good but ok. You give me hope.

I’m currently on 25mg reinstatement. I want off so bad but I’ve been through three acute withdrawals!! Only just learned now what was happening. I will slow taper again and never reinstate. I need a healing group or buddy

Sun is a huge trigger. These drugs get stored in the bones and break down in sunlight. Also fasting triggered a total acute state of withdrawal

I am your story. Just watched you on Angie’s channel. I’m on 25mg sertraline reinstatement regretting it now but I didn’t know I was in withdrawal. I had been off sertraline 8 months before protracted withdrawal. Five doctors missed it totally. I figured it out.

please i need your help, i don't know how to speak english well. The doctors first gave me 5 mg olanzapine and this caused me akathisia for 6 months, the doctors here do not know about this syndrome. Then they gave me abilify 20 mg, but I'm afraid and I take 5 mg, I'm afraid that the akathisia may return. I know that akathisia is reversible, that's why I'm afraid that it will come back, because even in the hospital the doctor told me that it can come back

I took antibiotics while on Xanax (25 years) and while tapering. Absolutely no side effects.

Are you fully healed & able to take antibiotics & vitamins now ? Or do these supplements still reactivate your akathisia?? Ive been going through it for 21 months now from an adverse reaction

I had that. It's fkn evil. The pacing was worse after I ate anything. Pacing "to nowhere." Endless pacing in a 1br apartment. It took time but it definitely got better, but man...totally exhausted but couldn't lay down or sit.

Why would you have a severe reaction to antibiotics because of cutting benzos or antidepressants?
