So right off the bat I love that the gear comes out when you flip the switch instead of an hour later. I wish MRC would stop doing that. Rolls like a freaking drill bit...awesome! Very interesting jet...cool in some different ways.

The instant gear drop is great; but there is something graceful about gear that takes a few moments to drop. Where it gets real bothersome is when the gear won't drop until a door has to cycle for 20+ seconds lol

I have one of these as well. Hardest plane to fly and I also can’t get the gyro to work correct. I have mine setup to only come on when the gear is down. With that said it’s still a lot of fun. Had a Elevon servo fail and had to bring it back using thrust roll and rudder. Purposely landed in a bush to minimize repairs.
@TwoBrosRC4 ай бұрын
It took a bit of work to get the gyro to stabilize it right - throttle-based gains are an absolute MUST with this jet if you want to have gyro gains that are useful at various speeds.

Hey John!, I seen how you drilled it into the dirt. Have you ever thought about having a VR cam on it. So you can fly beyond The limits of your own eyes. That's a game changer and with the twr of that mirage 2K you can really go for a ride and all of your RC models. My favorites are the seaplanes. Really love them. Love the last one I just wish it would have landed in the water even if it was a touch-in go. I can see the mirage the centerpoint seems to be skewed towards the rear. I understand it has a large engine in the rear but with the large Delta wing on the real mirage 2K would be a little more forward. Maybe if you put a VR cam in the front to give the aircrafts Vue or a pilot type of view of the AOA. But the twr is outrageously awesome! 👊😎 Ps, ps with the new CNC machines that people have at home with metals and plastics. You could make a empty box with fins on it for your battery. Like an outboard engine air cooled engine. Set it on the battery with air running across it. The metal will absorb the heat and extract it while the air cools it. Don't know if you have room inside the aircraft to do that so it'll stay cool in flight or when you take it out and swap it out it can be cooling down and charging at the same time. Done that tried that and it works really well.

Great video and review! Is this the same airframe as the 70mm version? I had a friend give me one (the 70mm) that I managed to break while doing a taxi test that turned into an impromptu 1ft high flight test. I can attest to how quickly the thing reacts to control inputs. Broke the landing gear and the wood "plate" in the fuselage that mounts it when I quickly reacted to put her back down. I recreated that plate and had it cut out of carbon fiber and it fits perfectly. Still need to finish the rest of the repairs but I'm excited to actually get it in the air. Also, I'd get away from the AS3X stuff, it's just too limited in what it does. I bet that thing would fly better with any iNav flight controller right out of the box, no tuning at all (Just set some rates).
@TwoBrosRC4 ай бұрын
No idea if it was originally a 70mm or not. It certainly looks and feels like a 70, and is scaled like a 70. AS3X works great for model aircraft - having a flight controller is neat but it's added weight and complexity.
@dooddrones65214 ай бұрын
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah it looks like they took the same airframe and just swapped it over to an 80mm. I don't see the 70mm or any mention of it on their website anymore but it looks all the same. As for the flight controller. I have flight controller+ receivers that when wired together still weigh less than something like a AR630. Sure there's more complexity but it's worth it. Especially for a nice flying plane. (And I'd argue required if you want to do any FPV)

You can't really compare a delta wing to a sport jet like the Viper or a jet like the F-5. They're nothing alike. Any delta wing jet is easier to fly than an equivalent swept wing jet.

@TwoBrosRC4 ай бұрын
The problem with this idea is that you can't really compare delta jets to non-deltas. They always fly better because of the larger wing area and lower wing load. Hence why we'll be covering Gripen, Eurofighter, and the J-10 in a "death dorito showdown" coming soon!

@TwoBrosRC A lot, actually. Taiwan, Japan, Korea, USA, etc. And I greatly dislike coreless servos. I'd rather just have to replace the gear set rather than the whole servo. Now, granted, that's probably many triple digits of flights later to wear out the motor. But still, I'd rather the servo last longer than the plane. Also, I'd rather not have a failed coreless motor cause the death of my plane.
