Wow this is an inspiring build ! I’m doing something similar on my own my husband doesn’t know how to use any tools not even a drill so he can’t help me. Watching you I get the feel for the process so thanks !

Hi such a great video thanks! Was wondering where you secured the bottom part? Did you screw on the floors or walls on the bottom? Thanks!!! :)

Thanks! I screwed each section into a posterior wall stud.

Just built a very similar set. Just wondered how you secured the bookcases to the wall???
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
At the very top, I screwed them to studs. Hope that helps!

@@TwoDogGarageWoodworks Did you screw through the back panels? Where did you put the screws? I couldn't figure out how to screw through the side of the bookcases.
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
Ana Ho yes I screwed through the back panel at the top where there was a thicker bracing.

Upon attaching the shelves on top of the cabinets do you screw them into the back wall so they don’t move?
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks3 жыл бұрын
Yes each is screwed into a stud at the top.

@@TwoDogGarageWoodworks I figured. I was like it’s held in place by gravity! Haha

Looks great! Do you think the doubled-up 3/4 plywood for 40 in shelves would sag?
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
Mine are close to 36 inches, no sag. Should be good

What track saw Dido you use?
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
Luis R. Salazar Castillo technically not a track saw. Just straight edge I bought at Lowe’s. Still have to measure the side of the saw to the side of the blade to line it up right. Not a bad cheaper option

What was the depth of your bookshelf carcass 11.5"?
@TwoDogGarageWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
Ours are about 15 inches. It was solely based on our widest book. No wrong answer, whatever works for you!

So the shelves are doubled up 3/4 inch plywood and the sides are just single 3/4 inch? Once assembled the sides and shelves look the same width.
