Maybe it's better to screen the whole post so there is nothing that can be deleted (maybe that's already what you do but I just wanted to help) kisses

Hey I have some suggestions for the doc: 1. Would it be possible to enable comments so everyone can coordinate who has already gotten what for which teacher/ see if any are getting ignored? 2. You could turn their names or descriptions into headings so we can get to them more easily?

Yeah cause if it fell, id imagine that the dress wouldnt be the only thing theyd be panicking about cleaning. Like the venue carpet for example. Even walls would need cleaning if wine got on it and if she tripped id imagine the others would have said that as well

Honestly. If a little sloshed out, I could buy it being an accident. But an entire glass? And the fact that they were all drinking red wine around this dress in the first place, knowing how careful the OP was being to where she would only drink water and refused to step outside in that dress?

It feels very “what’s more important to you, the sentimental family heirloom, or me, the person who would intentionally sabotage an irreplaceable milestone in your life AND precious family heirloom at the same time.” I wonder if Anna got the other bridesmaids on her side by saying something stupid like “I bet if I accidentally spilled wine on this dress that she’s been making a big deal about, she would choose the dress over me/our friendship.” Like, I’m not usually into “assuming the worst about people,” but either Anna is manipulating the other girls, or they are all together so shallow and out of touch that they watched all of this unfold and then called the bride a bridezilla. Either way, girl, get new friends 😩

My husband is working in cyber security field too. And just before we got married he promoted and his new position require him to travel. He was in a business trip just before our wedding day and returned back a day before. It was frustrating. But we needed the money and also now 2 months later we upgraded our car, we are planing on going to his business trips together. He works remotly most of the time and his trips usually take few days at most. After his meetings we plan to say couple of days more and travel together. His plane tickets are covered by the company he works in and we are now able to cover my part easily. Also he gets a fund for eating etc. yeah i hated it first but sabotaging my future husband back then was out of the question. Like it meant sabotaging myself and my family’s finance a big time. And going around his back? That is a deal breaker for sure. It would be a deal breaker for me if it happened to me. Some people are just nuts. ALSO psa F U LILY!

Lol first girl learned her lesson- the "few loyal" ones that showed up for brunch and texted are ACTUALLY her close friends. having a FEW of those is the norm, Like 2-4. This girl has to be super young or naive to think 25 people care enough to celebrate everything "perfectly" and are totally loyal/caring for her. The silver lining is that she found out who her real friends really are, and she can start shaping her reality around that now (:

The saddest thing about the last story is that if the police had actually filed the missing person report, maybe they would have find his wife alive or at least sooner than they did. It makes me sad to think that her remains were waiting to be found all that time but nobody was looking for her.

Honestly, that story sounds fishy. I know it's not unheard of, but still wild that the police wouldn't file a missing person report and for him to just accept it and immediately believe she left. Also the lack of details regarding the murder and how they were able to identify her when they had been unable to for more than 20 years? It all sounds very weird.

Story 6 about the guy who made Christmas in July made me LIVID. This story was so triggering for me as I was my mother's main caretaker for her last Christmas. I set the entire house and all of the food up for her to her standards of perfection (very high). I was fully prepared to celebrate Christmas early because we were told that she would not live long enough to see Christmas and she absolutely LOVED the holiday. We were given more time with her because she fought the cancer so hard. This man was a damn hero and was simply doing something to bring someone he loved comfort. I am horrified that there are people out there (like his girlfriend) who cannot empathize or understand where he is coming from. This man deserved better than his girlfriend and I am so happy she is gone.

Vasectomies - a friend's husband had a vasectomy with his first wife. His new wife wanted kids. They did a vasectomy reversal but it failed, he ended up with a haematoma in his testicle & almost lost it. They then had to go through direct sperm aspiration which is very painful & expensive. Luckily he hadn't made antibodies to sperm which is another possible side effect, which will mean any sperm present will be destroyed by the immune system. Basically vasectomies are great but are not as easy to reverse as people think. (Ps I'm a Biomedical Scientist).

The story about the sister and the fiancee is so sad. I just wanted to add really quick, while sex work of different kinds can be empowering and enjoyable for some people, as Lauren was saying, for others it can be quite the opposite. It hurts my heart to think of a 19 year old girl being forced into a life of prostitution, not only because she had to give up so much of her own life and future to do so, but also because of the risks that someone in that position faces. It's highly likely that the sister (at 19!!!! just a baby when you think about it) experienced situations involving severe abuse, degradation, and trauma just so she could put food on the table for her younger siblings, who she probably never dreamed of needing to parent. To say something like the fiancee did, with no knowledge of the potentially deeply traumatizing and painful experiences that the sister likely had to face, is just absolutely disgusting. call off the wedding for sure in my opinion.

The one about the mom getting mad at the daughter for not taking care of the 6 year old sibling made me SO mad. You can tell the mom leaned on her daughter so much and had her raising her brothers and sisters and it shows in the siblings response when asked if she was wrong! She “needed a break” from her 6 year old but didn’t check in with her daughter who is dealing with a BABY to see how she’s doing and if SHE needs help/guidance/ support? Ugh, so entitled.

I haven’t seen another comment about that story but I also feel bad for the 6 year old imagine your mom leaving you with your sibling because she needs a health day which is valid (but if it has been 2 days every week I feel like that’s a little to much specially if you need to take care of a kid) but she can’t leave you with your dad for some reason maybe he works and then you get to your sisters house and she doesn’t want to take care of your either. I feel like that would suck for a 6 year old being like my mom doesn’t want me right now and neither those my sister (maybe I’m thinking to much into it)

relate to that ‘forced babysitting’ story SO much because my mother & stepfather used to have me rearrange my life in order to watch my little brother. My mom would tell my boss that I couldn’t come in for earlier shifts because I had to take my brother to school in the morning but it was fine for her to take the early shift in order to come home earlier. I finally took a stand and had to use my boss to force my parents into seeing how often/the effect it was having on not only myself and my life but my relationship with my little brother.

The guy with the job interview sounds nuts… but I also get it. Like imagine wanting an opportunity like this for your entire life and then the person you love the most rips it away. Not many people have that amount of restraint.

Story 6 just killed me!!! My nana had lung cancer that spread all throughout her body. We were told in the beginning this was curable that she had a chance…. then they found spots on her brain and they told her she’d be lucky to make it to December. I made sure she was a big part of my gender reveal. I made sure she had a picture of my ultrasound in a frame by her bed so she could see him everyday all day long. Whenever she wanted to touch my belly even when I was very sick I made sure she got to. I showed up to the hospital despite how bad Covid was and all the risks just so she could feel him kick. I made sure she got to know her great grandson even though she’d never get to meet him. They told her they can only potentially keep her alive till then but it was highly unlikely. They were only willing to try that hard because her great grandson (my first child) was due in December. Her memory started to slowly go away and she cried a lot because she was afraid she wouldn’t get to meet my son. She asked me if I thought she’d get to know him and I told her that she already did and that I will make sure he knows her too. We cried a lot. She passed away in august. A few weeks before she had grabbed my belly and called my baby tj which was her son (my uncle) who had passed away. It took everything in me not to cry because she genuinely thought my son was her baby boy. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that the baby wasn’t tj that it was Kade. That was the moment I knew there wasn’t much time left. I made sure she knew we loved her. My whole pregnancy has been very hard but I wouldn’t take any of it back because I know she passed knowing how loved she was. She got to know my son even if she never got to hold him like she had hoped to at least do just once. Christmas time is gonna be extra hard this year with a new born and with her not being here to enjoy Christmas and hold my baby. That story hit me really hard I hope that man knows how much his grandpa needed that and that he did an amazing thing celebrating a Christmas in July.

PSA: I would recommend only getting a vasectomy if you never want children. They are intended to be a PERMANENT solution like how getting your tubes tied are meant to be permanent. If you get a vasectomy there is not a guarantee that it can be reversed and rates of reversals drop every year after you get it done. Vasectomies are great for people who know they NEVER want kids but it isn’t wise to get one as a form of casual birth control especially if you want kids or may want kids in the future. The recent push for vasectomies has a lot of misinformation surrounding reversing them

I came to say this! The reason I would promote a vasectomy over a tubal ligation is because it is a far less invasive procedure for a man as opposed to the female equivalent. Generally, patients are sent home within 3 hours with mild discomfort and treated with ice and ibuprofen. For women, it is much more invasive with higher risk for infection and complications. BOTH, however, are intended to be permanent forms of birth control, are many times irreversible, and should not be sought out unless NEVER having children is 100% the goal. ❤

There were maybe 8 of us at each thing, either due to scheduling or personal preference, maybe four were in both. With 25 women she could’ve planned every minute of every day of what she wanted and let her friends come and go as they please. It’s impossible to keep a handful of people on such a rigid schedule let alone 25. Set up reservations for maybe 10 people and everyone else does whatever they want in the meantime.

If I knew there was a good chance he wouldn't make it to the next Christmas, and he started wistfully reminiscing about Christmas, I totally would have hosted a "Christmas in July", with a huge FU to anyone who tried to say anything bad about it. That GF was a complete c u next tuesday, and OP is so much better off without her. NTA, and the trash took itself out.

The story about the job is absurd, Im so glad my boyfriend and I support each other in our career ambitions. He’s building a business with a company selling life insurance and I started school for nursing school now that my boys are both in school full time. It will take time for travel and sacrifices from both of us, but we both want to make it work for each other.

Can’t agree more my husband and I are about to live apart for a year just so I can finish school. But he supports me so so much so I can get a higher paying job. I couldn’t imagine being with someone who wouldn’t support me. I do the same for him and will always support a sacrifice for a better life.

They were clearly on different pages and had irreconcilable differences. As horrible as the fiancé was (and it was all her fault), it might have been avoided if the guy hadn't been in denial. She was very honest about how she felt, and it was stupid of him to hope it would blow over. Of course, I'm not excusing her. She's the one who decided to be a horrific human being.

In Saskatchewan Canada the outside Christmas lights stay up forever. You put them up on the house once and that’s it lol.

first story so far-my grandma has told me every time she went on a cruise, it’s hard to travel with other people. family or friends, it’s hard to travel and be in close quarters with people. 25 people in one house sounds INSANE though… how many bedrooms were in that house damn 😭

Yes I agree. I only brought 3 people for my bachelorette party. Best decision ever! We were all on the same page. Also , I went to Vegas with 13 other people. Never again lol

Wow! I’m so glad I randomly found you guys a few months ago. This was a crazy episode but honestly that last story made it all worth it. It’s seriously the best palate cleanser in the world. I literally teared up.

for the first girl, i dont actually think she is the asshole. I believe she was just inexperienced in scheduling and planning. i think she had the right idea, but she probably shouldve put all the girls in a groupchat and had everyone vote for the top places they wanted to go/do that the bride had already picked. that way she has her friends opinions and has a limit on what they would do, so they arent completely overbooked.

Agree, I don't think she's the asshole too. I've said this in another comment but I'd say to OP: - Have separate small gatherings with different friend groups - Maybe a dream trip with the group that has the MoH (Maid Of Honour) in I think things would've been better that way, if only someone had some reality checks with her hahaha. She just wanted a dream bachelorette weekend, what a pity for her

I disagree, respectfully. She was a victim of her own inexperience and expectations, but it sounds like she was running that vacation like a boot camp 😂 waking people up, giving strict timelines, rushing everyone to and fro, and making 25 women carry tote bags with outfit changes across town and making them change in public areas. I’ve been on vacations where I only planned two activities and my feet hurt so much. I can’t imagine how sore these women were from hustling and carrying shit on top of whatever ~activities~ entail. And then she cried alone and was upset to emerge and find out the world doesn’t revolve around her, not even on her bachelorette vacay. I was on vacation once, granted not a bachelorette party, but to an anime convention. On Friday, in the evening, one friend suddenly stopped wanting to leave the hotel room. We tried to gently coax them out, over our many returns to the room, but eventually gave up (you’re an adult with agency, do what you want). On Saturday, around 6am her mother had driven 4 hours to pick her up and she was trying to sneak out with out us noticing. Wouldn’t say why she was leaving. Vacation resumes for us and we have a blast. Later on, we find out, she was mad people at the convention weren’t taking enough photos of her in her school girl cosplay. But she was even more mad when we didn’t stay in the hotel room with her (when she wasn’t telling us what was wrong and saying passive statements like “no, you go have fun, I’ll stay here”). So all of that to say, C O M M U N I C A T E. Both these people got double hurt when they placed unspoken expectations (that they thought was perfectly explained through their tantrum) and nobody stuck around to cater to them. I don’t keep friends like this around because I’m an adult and not a mindreader. Even if it’s uncomfortable, even if you have to cry in front of your friends, communicate. I don’t think that makes her an asshole, but the nature of the subreddit is just to ask “am I in the wrong/not in the wrong?” And she was in the wrong/therefore the asshole, with the best of intentions. Her inexperience and expectations turned her into a drill sergeant and she could probably give her friends an apology for overbooking them and running them around town like rats. Her friends could owe her an apology for ditching or upsetting her plans but everyone needs to clearly state what went wrong on both ends.

Nah. OP is the asshole 100%. Sure you have your hopes up and you made a plan, but if you see your guests and so-called close friends are exhausted and not having a good time, it’s her responsibility to be a good host and a good friend ffs and be mindful and care about their well-being.

@@hvnterly8388 yeah she definitely had unrealistic plans lololol, but damn your story though. Glad you guys still had fun but I’m not sure to be shocked or amused at the mom who drove 4 hours to get her 😅
