the organ donor story really hit home. i'm 18 now, but at 15 i had a friend die from a brain aneurysm. he was an organ donor, gave 7 organs, saved 5 lives and gave even more tissue to tons of other people. it's weirdly comforting to think that he could be watching over the people he saved.

Wow, your friend was/is a hero! I truly believe he's watching over you, his other friends, the people he saved and his family! He has a busy job, but I bet he really loves it! I'm so sorry for the loss. I'm saddened he was so young, but I'm happy he lives on as a hero in the spirit world! 🙏🏼❤️🍀

The amount of people who have thought they were haunted but turned out they were slowly being poisoned to death by carbon monoxide is actually astounding. Thanks to reddit when I hear haunted house stories now I think of carbon monoxide poisoning first. 😅

People always jump to that on Reddit haha! Good to check to make sure there’s no leak, but I doubt they’re all from that. I had haunting ghost experiences at a house I lived at for 4 years. The whole time I lived there, there were strange things happening. I would’ve died before we moved if it was carbon dioxide since I was also a child so easier to poison.

There actually was a killer who basically confessed to his crimes on reddit. The gist of the story was, this guy and his girlfriend briefly broke up. I think they were going to get back together or something and he was visiting her place while her roommate was out. They were in the kitchen and she ended up asking if he was with anyone else while they were separated and wanted him to leave after his answer. He kept trying to hug her and she grabbed a knife from the dish rack to try to get him away. Instead of leaving, he grabbed one too and ended up killing her? Then he went on the run and posted on reddit. I think people thought he was making stuff up until news came out about a woman found dead in her apartment.

About the Dyatlov Pass hikers: the missing eyes and tongue is actually one of the least creepy parts of the story. It can easily be explained by wild animals eating the bodies. Scavenger animals, like vultures, often start with the eyes and tongue (and anus) as they are soft tissues, and eating them first gets them out of the way, making the inside of the carcass more accessible. Fun animal fact!

My father is a diagnosed Sociopath and narcissist. The danger of these words being thrown around is near horrifying to me. As I fully believe, if my father were going to die, he would take me with him. He's killed little animals like birds and chickens (he actually told me this), and I think even kittens. But my points are the same. These stories actually bring me great Solis as I often feel horrible for keeping my guard up around my own Dad. (Might delete this later-i hope you can understand)

I relate so much to that second story. I remember waking up and seeing a man in a loin cloth with whip marks across his skin like he was just flogged with a nine tails. He just sat at the foot of my bed smiling. We just made eye contact and had a staring contest until my eyes couldn’t stay open anymore. I did sleep at some point. I was legitimately terrified. After this moment, I was plagued with seeing and hearing various spirits for a full decade. So glad that I finally got rid of them. I still live in fear, they’ll come back.

I would not encourage people to sage their own homes if they themselves are not Native American and practitioners of native rituals. Basically, if you don’t practice/participate in these rituals, it will do nothing but lead to the harmful, overharvesting of white sage. Instead, you can find a practitioner who can invite you into the ritual at your home and not spread cultural appropriation any further. Native American practitioners are more likely to better conserve the white sage population of the us than for profit vendors you find in new age retailers or Etsy sellers. Appreciate, don’t appropriate.

16:50 it is part of Feng shui, but I never let mirrors face my bed. Anytime I sleep with a mirror towards my bed directly, I have the worst nightmares. Typically, it's okay if they face like the edge of your bedding or feet, but not directly at you is the recommendation.

Morgan get those Ikea like wall curtains for the mirrors in front of your bed, haha. Also, when I sleep alone I feel like there are other people in the room occasionally, it doesn't feel negative. Did you lose a pet that you were really close with? If you are hearing something crawling on the ground it could be a pet coming back to look after you when you are alone. Especially if it doesn't feel like a negative presence.

It makes sense as a Pisces that you’re very spiritually curious and open, just wanted to tell you, you don’t have to say “I don’t claim this energy”. You just BELIEVE that you’re protected and that you’re stronger than anything trying to threaten you. The story about the heart transplant somehow reminds me of the movie "What lies beneath" with Michelle Pfeiffer. Concerning the "Dyatlov Pereval"... I was born in Russia and that incident still lets many people believe that there was something ELSE at work and the government tried to cover it. Almost 10 years ago I downloaded the investigation documents + autopsy documents to look at the case further BUT I cannot bring myself to do that....

OH YEAH BABY MY TIME TO SHINE. Hi! I have DID and this is exactly how it feels. The best cinematic portrayal ive seen thats similar to my experience is Venom, the way venom speaks to eddie and is a booming presence is how one of my alters feel. They all /feel/ different, some are very demure and whispers, others are chaotic and loud. When one of my alters takes over the drivers seat it feels like being launched out of a slingshot and being attached to a bungee cord that yanks me back into my body. Its a fucking wild existence 😅😂🙌 also in regards to dreams, every night i go to my headspace and my alters all have their own lives, we kinda enjoy being asleep more than awake tbh because we get our own bodies and lives. Ive wabted to do a sleep study for years but dont know how to get that ball rolling but anyways Thanks for coming to my ted talk 😂

As someone professionally diagnosed with the umbrella term parasomnia, specifically for sleep paralysis and night terrors, you don't completely get used to it. I have found ways to make it easier on myself, but it's still scary every time it occurs because you know it's not real, but you have to convince your body that it isn't. Edit for context: I got tested when I was 14 because it was so bad that I was convinced one time that there was a man in the house. I am unfortunately one of the ones who experience visual hallucinations alongside the auditory ones. They've gotten less frequent since I moved houses, and I'm now a college student. My advice for those who suffer it as well is to wiggle your fingers and toes as much as you can. My best guess is that it triggers the body to recognize that you're awake. It works. Mostly.

Sleep paralysis does actually have an explanation. The body is supposed to be paralysed once you get to a certain level of sleep (which is why most of us don’t sleep walk or hit/kick our partners/pets in our sleep). Then once we start to wake up, then the paralysis subsides. However, sometimes, this process doesn’t occur properly in some people so the person will wake up but the body hasn’t gotten the message yet. Another example of this not working properly is when people sleep walk, or do other stuff while completely asleep.

The transplant story gave me goosebumps. One of my nans hospice nurse told me about one of her transplant patients when she worked icu. The patient's surgery went well and for some reason the family and this patient met. They kept in contact and this patient swore they had to have these people in their life. This patient later told her that this family had invited them to holidays and even got them out of a bad relationship. At the point of me hearing it this patient referred to them as "my family". It was like this organ retained the love for these people and it passed onto this patient.

Love your podcast! Listening to you talk about the mirror in your room made me remember when I use to live at home I had a mirror on the wall in front of my bed. I was always scared to be in there with the lights off because I felt like someone was watching me from my closet. A few times while laying in bed at night I felt something pull my hair and poke me on the forehead. This went on for about a year or 2 until I read about mirrors being potential portals and decided to turn the mirror around facing the wall for the night. When I woke up I threw the mirror away and after that it all stopped. I fully believe something came out of that mirror and was in my room at night.

What freaks me out about sleep paralysis is how people claim to see the same things. The hat man was talked about way before Tiktok made him popular with the Benadryl trend. I remember first hearing about him on a ghost documentary in like 2010. People have claimed to see him way before then too. I feel like they can explain the chemicals in the brain and because they can they just leave it at a dead stop for further explanation, but things are so uncanny i wish professionals would take it more seriously

Y'all, sleep paralysis has absolutely been explained. When we sleep, there is a paralyzing mechanism in our brain that is meant to prevent us from moving around and acting out the things we dream. Another form of this mechanism not working correctly is sleepwalking. But in sleep paralysis, the mechanism remains engaged, even though the brainwave rate has come back up past REM sleep, all the way to wakefulness. We don't necessarily know how to prevent it, but it's essentially a well explained/documented sleep disorder.

So the sage you use to burn is actually a California native plant, so if you use it a lot it's very recommended from an eco perspective to grow your own sage. You'd be supplying your own sage and growing flowers for local pollinators😊 its also super drought tolerant and because it's native to California, it will survive the high temp, dry weather. Scientific name is salvia apiana, if you want to ask a local nursery if they have them!

I am really upset how you said "explains SOME of the injuries" the hikers experienced regarding the Dyatlov Pass incident. The blunt force injuries were caused by the avalanche, the soft tissue that was missing was scavengers, and other injuries were attributed to the manner in which the hikers left their tent in a hurry. Misrepresenting well documented 'mysteries' hurts your credibility. I recommend watching Ask a Morticians video on this.

The Dyatlov pass incident was highly likely to be an avalanche. There's a lot of fable associated with the incident, but avalanche is still the most likely. Leaving their tents at a moments notice would account for why they were not properly equipped to be outside, even though they were outdoor survival experts. Snow is VERY heavy. Surprisingly so. This would account for the physical trauma seen on some of the victims, even if they got away from the initial site. Scavenger birds, like vultures, will eat any exposed soft tissue. This explains the loss of eyes on some of the victims, who presumably were the last to pass from exposure.
