Thank you for this walk through. Helped me to successfully download and run Forscan. I'll be using this to fix my rapid flash turn indicators, turn off my daytime running lights, and enable "Bambi" mode where switching to high beams leaves the low beams and fogs illuminated also.

Just called the dealer as I just added a brake to my 18 f150 they wanted $280 (2hrs labor) to flash. Looks like I’m buying a $19 cord and learning something new lol.

Thanks! I have the ELM plug-in device with the special switch, but had forgotten how to get into the software. I use an Apple device, which automatically stores user names and passwords, if you let it, and it was easy to find that info again after watching your video. I had forgotten about the trial license and longer term license aspects of the program, and appreciate your pointing out those details.

I recently purchased a 2011 Mercury Mariner, but it only came with 1 key and it was set to MYKEY with all the restrictions. I am going to clear the Mykey restrictions hopefully.

This doesn't work four years later. When registering it asks you for an 'Invitation Code' in 2024 and after following all of the above steps I never receive an invitation code so I can't get any further in the process from the 1:07 point of this video. Trying to join FORScan is more difficult than trying to break into Fort Knox.

Hello, I need to set a 2nd key to my 2012 f-150. O2 sensor, i just want it to stop triggering the engine light, with out changing o2 sensors. I maybe turn it off or, the O2 sensor tune it a bit. I seen vid.'s of removing all key than setting new ones, but i really only want to add a key.

Will this OBD2 Adapter work with a '15 Escape? I saw a review the other day of the 10 best adapters, showing the "OHP" version of the ELM 327 as being NOT compatible with the Escape. Btw, I had a LOT of trouble TRYING to load the "key" for the 2 month "free trial extended license", just gave in and paid the $10 for the one year access. Once I got the "activation" code, it was all "automatic", BEST $10 I ever spent!!

I connected this to my Ford Ranger 2018, and it came up in ForScan something along the line of this unit is not suited for your vehicle, it was missing a lot of features when it loaded up. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

It sounds like you either have the wrong type of dongle, or it didn't get switched correctly.

Good choice not buying the Bluetooth version. I have been at mine for a day and a half and still can't get it to connect. It connects to the Torque app but then disconnects after a few seconds and then reconnects and so on. The ForScan app doesn't see my OBD-II device at all. About to return and get the USB version.

It might. It depends on why your PATS system isn't working. You will need two transponder keys that are cut for your car. If the car is already immobilized, I would give it a try.

Ford didn't make it, its not their fault you can't mod the settings without a $9000 autel tool and software. This is a work around for home mechanics who want to change a few settings and gain basic obd2 control.

It did and others found it helpful. If this tutorial is over your head then you probably shouldn't be using FORScan, just get a plug in diagnostic tool.
