There are many OBD2 scanners, but does the FORScan somehow differ? Yes, because it is designed especially for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. So supports specific features of the manufacturer protocols, making the FORScan more powerful in work with these models than any regular OBD2 scanner.
For example, FORScan can detect modules which are not visible for regular OBD2 scanners, can show you trouble codes which are never displayed by OBD2 scanners, can show you PIDs which are not supported by any OBD2 scanner, run specific tests and service procedures. In other words, FORScan can do things that regular OBD2 scanners can not do.

@@SYDiagnostics Probably it will be worth mentioning not all years have the same modules and same capabilities. I couldn't find a way how to enable the cruise control on my 07 Ford Explorer there is very limited capability to change anything unless is in the "As Built" form but there is no spreadsheet for my vehicle. Any pointers?

Hi Steve, you can see on the bottom left of the screen when the scan is complete, it’s turns from ‘reading vehicle info’ to ‘ready’ Been using this software for years and never realised it had any bidirectional controls until I watched one of your videos, keep up the good work, thanks

Great video. My 2013 Ford Fusion has the abs light on, traction control, and brake light on. They popped up when the wiring harness for the engine coolant sensor broke and was fixed. I did a full brake job, checked that the wheel sensors all read the same with Forscan. Have zero dtcs on Forscan and cannot figure this problem out. If I engage the electronic parking brake the lights turn off tell the epb is disengaged. Would reseting the ABS module in Forscan be worth a try and would the module need to be recalibrated if reset with Forscan. Thanks for your time.

There are some sections of the Forscan software that require you to register like installing a new stereo that requires coding to the vehicle. It is totally worth it, just wish there was something that can tell me what all the modules do that come up. :)

Do you have to do the wire or pin swap on both sides, driver side, and passenger side? Also getting an error. I’ve tried to since I have a 4key fob, do I need to use the FC code, try without didn’t work then I did it with FC didn’t work. Too much on the driver side and I’m getting a short ground error on the DTC on the driver module clip the wire a 3m connector. No errors on the passenger side module just on the DDM. What do you suggest?

Great video, thanks for taking the time to record and upload it. Personally, I have had so much trouble with my Forscan diagnostic tool. And now when it finally was able to connect to the car, it takes several minutes before it happens. It writes "No connection" several times before it then finally connects after a long time. In addition there are many modules in my menu where it says something like "not available" or not able to read - and there are red exclamation marks. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my Forscan "unit" has a switch on the OBD-plug and that this is in the wrong position - I have to check that

they can be downloaded from the Ford motorcraft site as far as im aware, but Forscan is unable to perform the software updates

Not something ive heard of. Usually just replace the bulb and delete any codes (bcm) . Unless you have further issues with the vehicle
