China has the world's number one industrial manufactured products, and the food industry is just one of them. Basically, you can find snack products of any country and any brand in the world in China. Many food manufacturers will also come to China to invest and build factories and introduce the snack products of their own countries. Of course, except for some relatively extreme flavors (such as canned herring that even the locals may not be able to accept. In China, usually only some foreign trade stores will import and sell it). When these products are produced in China, they will try their best to suit the taste of the locals. For example, the Chinese actually don't like extremely sweet snacks, and these food manufacturers will produce some snacks with local characteristic flavors (such as the spicy flavored Lay's potato chips you see). You haven't even seen these products in the place of origin. Chengdu is one of the most inclusive cities in China, and you will feel this in the subsequent journey. As a native of Chengdu, I am very glad to see more and more foreign friends coming to travel in Chengdu. I hope you have a pleasant journey!

@@zefengc In the traditional Chinese dietary culture, dairy products do not occupy an important position as in some Western countries. On the one hand, from the perspective of history and geography, the development of animal husbandry in most areas of ancient China was relatively limited, and the scale of cattle and sheep breeding was not as extensive as that of some nomadic peoples on the grasslands, which to a certain extent affected the supply and popularity of dairy products. On the other hand, China has a rich variety of other ingredients and dietary choices, such as grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, etc., which play an important role in people's daily diet and to a certain extent also reduce the dependence on dairy products. For example, soy milk is a common drink in China, which to some extent replaces the position of milk in some people. In addition, various soy products, rice paste, etc. also provide people with rich sources of nutrition.

The main difference between American Coke and Chinese Coke is the sweetener used. American Coke is typically sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, while Chinese Coke is sweetened with cane sugar. Additionally, Chinese Coke has less carbonation than American Coke. American Coke was pulled from the Chinese market in 2008 due to dwindling sales, as Chinese consumers preferred the taste of the cane sugar-sweetened Coke. Definitely try get out of your comfort zone and try out different looking drinks in China, you can't get the same level of variety of drinks and teas from other countries, not even in Japan!

Hi. For you question about the condiments actually for normal restaurants serving fried dishes they don’t usually put the condiments on the table because I guess each dish has its own seasoning and most of people won’t try to modify it. But you can always ask for any condiments and they will give you from the kitchen.on the other hand, if you go to a noodle restaurant, there will be always two or three condiments on the table like soy sauce, vinegar and many kinds of chili depends on your city. The chili could be powder, could be chili oil.

finally caught this one/ Asian Rice, China, is usually done to stick together so chopsticks usually work fine, but there is a custom to lift the bowl up to the mouth at times too/ but no wrong way to eat, go with your own comfort and chop stick level versus spoon. The region is famous for spicy food, key word in Mandarin is La or Hen La (4th tone I think on the la) for spicy or very spice. Have fun!

The green veggie looked like 「蒜芯」(garlic shoots). Chinese people also use chopsticks to eat rice in bowls. If rice is put on a plate, then it's easier to use spoon. However, we would also use chopsticks and spoons together in eating rice and noodles, as well as anything (e.g. noodles, rice, dumplings, meats, veggies) in soup.

Some of the restaurants here would be open till 2 am in the morning, there are even 24-hour restaurants for people who work very late like taxi drivers. And some restaurants begin their day at 7 or 8 in the evening and they serve some of the most unique food.
