Thanks so much guy's. It's incredible to see people wanting to help out their competition and put together such a great production. Your honesty and sincerity project right through the camera. If I was ever in your neck of the woods I would love to sit down in bar, have a beer and talk! Thank you

Thank you so much for all the tips! I was wondering how you go about showing the variety of items you have to offer? Like with the dog catch all trays, do you list all the designs you can carve or do you just list them as people ask for a new design? I have a group of images I would like to carve into coasters, but don't really know how to show my variety without carving each one. I am open to that, but would love some advice as to if that is worth it? Thank you!!!
@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 3 жыл бұрын
For the most part we list them as they sell. We'll post what we think will perform best and add from there. Most of them are per request then just take photos and list it when the item is finished. If the designs are similar you could list them under one listing.

Concerning free shipping. How do you guys compensate for that? Is it just included in the price?
@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 3 жыл бұрын
yes its included in the price. We find an average on the packages we've shipped in the past and set a flat rate that's baked into the price. if the package doesn't go very far we'll come out ahead. if the package goes completly across the united states we may lose a little. we typically come out ahead on the "free" shipping. Its just finding that average price slightly in your favor.
@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 3 жыл бұрын
If the customer returns an item we do not cover shipping it is their responsibility which is stated in our shop policies

Thank you for the advice - good insights from your experience. Any insights about setting the right price? I have heard that some people list their products at a loss to gain sales and this drives the overall price of the products down to the point it is hard to make a profit for smaller shops. Does this sound real? What other advice might you provide

@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 3 жыл бұрын
@@robsandstrom9854 I definitely don't agree with selling items at a loss. definitely start out at market price. You should at least be priced even with everyone else. We typically sell over market value which i highly recommended going after the the higher budget customers if you have a solid product. If anything you could offer a cheaper product that easy to make to gain a few sales and reviews but never take a loss on an item in attempts to gain sales or reviews. Worst case scenario you take a loss and get a bad review.... We sold cheap mail boxes right away that sold pretty well. We didn't make very much on them at all but we definitely didn't lose money

Ive tried etsy and didn't get 1 sale from cutting boards and spoon rest wish i could send you some pictures for your opinions on them
@TwoMooseDesign
@TwoMooseDesign 2 жыл бұрын
You need to offer things others don’t. A cookie cutter cutting board that everyone else sells probably won’t sell because reputable shops already offer them. You need to figure out a way to stand out from the pack. It’s a flooded market throwing one or two listings on Etsy isn’t going to cut it. If you can send local orders though Etsy to get a few sales and reviews that helps a ton
