One interpretation: In a different timeline Eddy didn't continue his violin studies and Brett isolated himself to fully study violin. Eddy is missing something from his 9-to-5 lifestyle and Brett pushed himself on violin so hard to land him in the hospital. The mirror shows each of them what their lives would've been like if Eddy pursued violin and Brett removed himself from self-imposed violin isolation. Brett guides Eddy back to violin and Eddy guides Brett out of isolation. They find themselves a perfect musical complement to each other when they play violin together on stage. Brett dies on the hospital bed and he disappears. Eddy quits his 9-to-5 life to pursue violin and he disappears. Both meet in the current timeline where they work together to share their passion for music to the world.

My interpretation: In the beginning you can see Eddy in a field that is in the middle of somewhere with a portal like thing, and on the other side of that portal is Brett. He wonders, why is Eddy not playing the violin anymore? Then the scene cuts to Eddy, who quit his dreams of becoming a professional violinist and is now working a normal 9-5 job. He goes home, and as he sits down, the screen flashes with: “If I had followed my heart back then, would things be different?”. I believe this refers to when Brett passed away or when he got sick, and then Eddy quit the violin since Brett isn’t there to play it with him anymore. Lightning strikes Eddy’s violin, bringing his attention back to it. He brings the case to his table, and as he opens, the scene cuts to this fancy place. Brett leads Eddy through the memories, the music books, the many famous composers, and in the end they reach Chloe, with a violin in front of her. Eddy then picks it up, and the scene cuts again. Now we are in the hospital with Brett as he lays unconscious on the hospital bed. You can see on the wall, the clock is 20 hours, not 12 hours, meaning the clock actually has 40 total hours, like the 40 hours of practice. This could also mean how much time Brett had left, because when the clock strikes 20, Brett’s heart monitor flatlines. And, Eddy with his violin, relives a concert with him and Brett one last time and remembers how happy it made him. During this concert, Brett’s heart monitor flat-lines when the clock hits 20, but with 5 lines, like the lines in music scores. Then, we are shown Eddy, alone on stage without Brett, and the hospital bed being empty, like Brett has passed away. Eddy wakes up into reality again, and he turns around. He sees a bubble tea on the table, signifying that Brett may be gone, but his spirit remains. Eddy then opens his violin case, as the scene cuts to a world where Brett and Eddy reconnect through music, or something else. Extra: I think this video was made to say IF things had gone wrong back then. If you are unaware of this, back in October 2020, Brett and Eddy took a break for Brett’s health issues. They did get it treated, but I think this video is saying what would’ve or could’ve happened if they DIDN’T figure out what the issue was and didn’t get it treated properly. (Sorry for the bad grammar and stuff)

I know you guys often comment about "failing" to become violin soloists. But considering you play for a worldwide audience and have succeeded in inspiring musicians, expanding the awareness and knowledge of classical music fans, introduced a younger generation to classical music AND provided a platform for said soloist to expand their art on your channel and now this...I would say you have succeeded way BEYOND being violin soloists.

Someone said to post this so here is my interpretation: Eddie gave up his dream of being a professional musician when Brett became sick. He works an office job, and in this short film we see the violin connect him to the memories he sealed away, his love of the violin is tied to his love of his friend, and bound in that grief represented by the violin case. They journey through a world of wonder, grow, and bloom together, culminating in a grand duet which soars high above any place they could reach alone. And then it hits, Eddie is alone on that stage, the possibility of his friend living, of one more bubble tea, it's gone. And what is left? I think in the end, Eddie realizes the answer to that question when he opens the case. Ah, yes. What's left is and has always been the music. He finds his friend there, where he always was. Welcome home. Your fantasia was just a guiding star, set shining from above by your friend who is no longer, yet lives and breathes forever in the color and the expression of your playing. It's time to practice. :) This short film also reminds me a little of Your Lie in April hehehe Bonus: The clock having 20 hours, and the arms hitting the 20 as if "Your 40 hours are up" when Brett is no longer there got me in the feels.

I've been a silent viewer for a long time, and this comment is long overdue, but I feel like it needs to be said. It is not an exaggeration to say that this short film caused me to reconsider my life - I took a long hard look at my corporate job and ongoing law degree and asked myself why they didn't make me happy. In the one month or so since this vid's release, I've applied for, gotten accepted, and have now started classes in a well-known creative writing degree - something I've always wanted to do but never had the courage for. For someone who struggles with life-changing decision, that all this happened within a MONTH is mind-blowing. I have no idea where this will take me, but I've realised that I don't want to have regrets. I just hope that you guys know that your creations can truly inspire people, in ways you couldn't possibly imagine. Thank you!

I started watching you guys when I first decided to pickup a cheap violin on Amazon and try to start learning, knowing if I didn't just go for it and start - I never would. I didn't want to be that character that looked back having never done it. 5 years later, I've gotten to play in orchestras, perform music I couldn't imagine ever getting to play, and even gotten to see my own mother late in life pick up cello and learn an instrument along side me. And all along you two have been making videos that remind me that it's totally normal to struggle with technique and to doubt your own ability, but at the end of the day you kept reminding me why I started in the first place. For reminding us musicians of why we all started, and for inspiring us to start in the first place - thank you Brett and Eddy. I'm looking forward to the next 5 years.

Oh wow! 5 years got you to play in orchestras? How much do you practice everyday? You must be talented, persistent and hardworking! Your story is very inspiring! Non-musical related, but I recently picked up skating at age 42. It's something I have always wanted to learn. I'm not athletic, but I try my best and I am enjoying it. Recently I consider picking up piano again after I stopped playing for 30 years. Have been tempted to try violin because violin concertos and sonatas have always been my favorite since I was a child. Though one thing at a time, because it is tough to balance life, kids, and work. Your story is very inspiring!

@@CL-jf8qs There are lots of orchestras that aren't necessarily the high-end proffesional ones, but you perform in the same or similar venues ands its a very similar feeling. I played in orchestras from 11-17 yrs old. We'd always perform in one of the biggest halls in north america before the semi-proffesionals and then the proffesionals. It was a really great experience.

@@CL-jf8qs Just like you said, It's hard getting consistent practice in as an adult learner, but I never really forced myself to practice or stick to X hours every day. I always have at least one piece on my stand that really excites me to think about playing or a specific new technique I really want to learn, so I am just always itching for the next time I get to practice it. I also have always done my best to keep regular lessons going, even if I didn't have as much time to practice as I wanted to for the lessons. And at the end of the day I love playing on my own, but getting out and playing with other musicians is other-worldly. Even when I wasn't really ready to play in an orchestra I found myself a big community orchestra with no auditions. There are great groups across the country that don't care if you even play 1 bar the whole night, as long as you do your best. If you want motivation to pick up an instrument or practice more, just sit in the middle of the violin section of a full orchestra and feel what's it like to be surrounded by that sound. After you feel that I don't know how you could ever stop until you're good enough to play with those guys. All that said, you're just as much of an inspiration to me for picking up skating! And piano too! It's never a wrong time to pick up something new out of love for it.

I like how Eddy's side of the story is presented more literally than Brett's, it goes well with their pesonalities as Eddy is usually more expressive to me than Brett. I think these are them after going different paths in adulthood, in this universe they did meet when they were kids, but they took different paths in life. While Eddy took some distance from the music, Brett went for it until burn out. It's only in that fantasy world (the stage where they play together) where they finally reunite and realize that they're two halves of the same coin. Eddy got there by following the idealized Brett in his mind /who takes him to LingLing/, while Brett who's in the hospital actually starts showing vital signs after he reunites with Eddy on stage, meaning that he finally finds joy in music again? maybe. Then Brett is gone from the stage because he wakes up in the real world and Eddy also goes back to reality. In the end, Eddy finally decides to embrace his dream -of becoming an anime character- of pursuing music because he has a clear purpose now, which is shared with Brett. He opens the gate to the Fantasia world where we can see them together again, finally following/fulfilling their dream. My personal highlights: * Goddess LingLing Chloe Chua * The guys in front of the twoset logo * In the beggining, we see Eddy wandering some unknown place, as if he's lost with no purpose in life. While Brett is literally isolated, in darkness, playing/practicing all alone. This part breaks my heart. * The whole sequence of Eddy entering the building and discovering the path of music * the staff in the monitor 😭

My interpretation: Eddy has abandoned his dream of pursuing violin in the process of adulting. Brett does not exist. He is a “friend” who only exists in Eddy’s mind and he represents Eddy’s repressed/unfulfilled desire to play the violin. Because Eddy has given up on violin for so long, Brett is simply playing the violin by himself in the background (i.e. Eddy’s subconscious state) and is metaphorically in a coma in real life. That is why Eddy and Brett are on two sides of the same mirror. Things changed when Eddy decided to open the violin case. The Brett in him is awaken and he led Eddy back into the world of classical music, a world that Eddy has not stepped into for a long time. Eddy experienced the euphoria of playing violin with Brett again, but his joy did not last because Brett has disappeared from the stage halfway. Eddy’s decision to open the violin case has awaken and released the “Brett” in him (ie. the desire and joy of pursuing music again), but all these are just Eddy’s imagination if he doesn’t act on it in real life. At this point, Brett has already woken up from his coma and left the hospital. The inner voice in Eddy (i.e. Brett) has already broken out from the prison of reality that he has been trapped in for the longest time. Brett is waiting for Eddy to take that leap of faith to join him. Finally, Eddy took that leap of faith and decided to pursue his passion for music in real life (signified by him opening up the violin case again at the end). He was reunited with Brett and they soared to the sky with their violins. Eddy is finally following his heart, and this time, the joy is real and lasting. In this journey, Eddy and Brett have lost each other, waited for each other, found each other and finally, saved each other. Some of us might have dreams that we have long buried or gave up on as we grew up because of circumstances, self-doubt or various struggles in life. Our dreams are never truly lost - they are quietly waiting for us to return.

This video hits me so hard... I used to be a cellist, I was in school all day (from 8am to 8pm) and I had a friend who I was always with; we used to compete for everything, not only in mathematics or geography, but specifically for the first cello chair in the orchestra. We were together for five years, until he decided to go on an exchange to Taiwan; I liked the idea of being apart for a while, so everyone could improve their skills and play new music together; no longer as competition like when we were younger, but fellow travelers in the world of music. I practiced as hard as I could, I took all the extra classes I could find (besides the mandatory ones from my conservatory), even when that meant revealing myself to my whole family and being almost abandoned (because they expected a promising lawyer, not a cellist). I was preparing for a level change exam and imagining a future where maybe... I could live doing this... and when I was in the best shape of my entire career... when I was starting to be happy with my sound , with my music, with what I transmitted... I found out my friend died. We were at the height of the pandemic, so there was no funeral, no farewell, I didn't know what he died of either; I only received a short text message, breaking the news to me and forbidding me to tell anyone about my friend's death (her mom didn't want anyone to know, just close friends). So from one moment to the next, I was alone, crying in my room, unable to tell anyone. My friend never heard me play the way I had worked so hard to prepare... I never got to be honest with him...and I never got to hear him play what he really wanted to show me. I finished that year of study, but I didn't take the final exam. Somehow, from that moment, I felt that the cello was a weight for me, and that all my soul had gone... I didn't play cello again, and now I'm studying a career that I don't hate, it doesn't bother me, it's even interesting, but I can't help but feel empty every day, while doing a job that I'm not passionate about either and somehow, I survive. I feel like I'm just surviving day after day, but I haven't been happy for a long time. I would like another reality in which I could see my friend again and tell him everything I wanted him to know, but above all, I would like us to be able to play together once again... it would have been enough for me and maybe, a farewell hug.

Woah.... I hope you are feeling better now. You should find some time to pick up cello again, maybe just as a hobby, not really pressured to do it as an occupation, you might feel less empty, it is at least was something you were passionate about. You really should revisit it, and relive the experience again.

I understand the pain of grieving alone. I've lived it myself. The love of my life died of cancer while I was away. He never told me he was sick. I learned about his death when one day he just didn't pick up my calls. I called his best friend... that's how I found out. It was Feb. 2020. I had an upcoming surgery. I couldn't travel. Then we had 6 months of lock down while I was in another country. I asked his friend what happened. He said he'd become withdrawn. He didn't want anyone to know. He made excuses not to see him. Until his friend showed up unannounced, to speak with him, bc he thought he was mad at him over something. Then he saw how thin and weak he was. His friend asked him: "why don't you tell Lina?" He responded: "I cannot say goodbye to her." I also understand the need to step away from activities, or people we love for a while. Silver lining: you've studied something entirely different, this makes you a richer, more interesting person. I hope you return to your cello. There's clearly a lot of love there. You can turn the music you make into a hug to your friend and hopefully, for a fleeting moment, you'll feel him hugging you. In the meantime, please receive a heartfelt hug from someone you've never met, currently in Philadelphia, who understands ❤

One small detail I noticed is that in the "alternate timeline" where Brett and Eddy weren't doing twoset, Eddy doesn't wear his glasses. He usually jokes that he got them because of all the sightreading he had to do. Because he didn't follow his desired path, he never needed to sight read as much and therefore never needed his glasses. This is just my take on it. Great work Brett and Eddy, and the whole team! 👏👏

My heart aches a little when I see Eddy left alone on that stage, and Brett in a hospital bed. He was genuinely lost and scared in that scene. God, how hard it must have been for him when Brett was bedridden sick for a month. There are so many interpretations to this masterpiece, but the one I'd like to take is that "having each other, they soar".

This made me realize how much more real it was back in that one October. How Hard it would’ve been for both of the boys. It also made me cry, thinking “what would’ve happened if Brett couldn’t get it treated?”. I can’t even start to imagine how hard it would have been for Eddy to imagine Brett... gone. If it’s hard for me, and hit my emotional chords, Eddy wouldn’t been so so scared.

Brett was bedridden for weeks in late 2020. He was very sick. This video is about how much their friendship means to each other. What would Eddy have done if Brett had died? Would he have stopped playing violin? No, he wouldn't. The memory of his best friend would guide him back to playing the violin, and in that, they'd always be together. 😭 They are soulbros forever. Soulmates, but bros.

Your comment made me realize how much more real it was back in that one October.

My interpretation of "Fantasia": I feel like this film (to me) is about if they never or weren't able to follow their passions in the beginning, and they either never met each other or they parted ways when they were much younger. Eddy: Being pressured to do something he doesn't want to do by either friends and/or family, and all that is left are his memories in his adolescents of his love for music. Brett: Did continue to play the violin, but similarly to when he fell ill a while ago, he falls ill in this film. Eddy and Brett meet each other through their dreams for their passion for the violin. Brett dies, but he shows the painful yet wonderful world of being a musician, and in the end, leaves his dream in Eddy for him to follow. Now, Eddy carries both his and Brett's dream of becoming a musician.

To anyone wondering what happened to the channel: it’s a internal error at KZbin. I’m pretty sure that the label that they were working with for fantasia tried to open a KZbin account for their music, and the regular videos got mixed up in there. On pc you can see on the “Twoset Violin” channel has a music note right next to it while the main “TwoSetViolin” channel has the checkmark. edit: on twosets latest video, they addressed the issue and i cant believe i got it right lmao

From filming and editing videos yourselves as university students to having a whole team helping you with this channel, and now to making your own fugueing film? And yet, even though a lot has changed throughout the years, at your core, you're still those two cute, hilarious boys with a strong passion for playing the violin and classical music, making funny videos, with the clear mission of spreading classical music around the world. And you've achieved that mission; you've also brought joy into countless people's lives to boot. You are my and many others' light admidst the darkness. This is my thought: in the world of this short films, they didn’t meet each other. So without Brett Eddy didn’t choose to become a musician, and without Eddy Brett didn’t survive the disease… 🥲 But in the end they reunited and played the violin together. I was so moved… As mentioned in some interviews, Brett is the one who is more determined to their dream and encouraged Eddy a lot. Also we all know when Brett was sick, Eddy took good care of Brett. I’m so glad we’re in a world with TSV. 🥰

I will probably be wrong, but here is my take on the story: Eddy and Brett wanted to be violinists together, but something happened and Eddy gave up on that dream. We don’t know why. In the opening scene, Eddy is looking into the mirror that had the concert hall in it (what could’ve been), but when it cuts to Brett, it shows him looking at a reflection of himself. Why can’t he see what Eddy sees? Perhaps…they’re in a different world? We later see Eddy working a 9 to 5 and thinking if he should’ve continued on his violinist dream. The scene later cuts to a “palace” with Brett leading Eddy the way, though both of them never communicated. This could show how Brett plays an important part in Eddy’s dream. Eddy then picks up the violin in front of Chloe (presumably Ling Ling), as if taking on the second chance to become a violinist. The scene cuts to Brett in a hospital bed, and all is clear. Brett is in a coma. It then cuts to the concert scene, where both Brett and Eddy are playing, together, living their dreams. However, Brett later flatlined and disappeared from the concert hall, probably the reason why Eddy gave up on his dreams: he didn’t want to do it without Brett. Eddy snaps back into reality. He cannot decide if he should open the violin case. He looked at something on his table (bubble tea? Which probably reminded him of Brett) and decided to open it, which brought it into an animated scene of him and Brett living their dreams together. That is Eddy’s “Fantasia”. This is just my take on this. This is of course up to interpretation and you can always have your own :)

My perspective on classical music was practically the same as yours in “classical music is boring” when I started watching twoset. I had always been playing the violin since I was 8 and I, like Eddy in the film burned myself out from it at one point and that’s when I started watching twoset I had not practiced at point for 7 months and I was about to quit after already had played for 2-3 years but then twoset was the thing that motivated me and kept me going now, I have been playing for 5 years (going on 6) and I (thanks to Ling Ling and practicing 40 hours a day lol) am now in the El Paso Youth Philharmonic I would have never gotten where I am without two sets’ motivation and my perspective on my violin and classical music changed drastically and I hope it does the same for anyone who loves music just as much as I do but that’s awesome I love twoset for doing what they do

There’s just something so beautiful and touching about how all of this short film seems to come together from a bundle of experiences we as your audience have heard about or seen that you two have been through in your years as musicians. Like Brett was actually in the hospital once because of him pushing himself too hard I guess, and Eddy’s parents wanted him to not pursue music a lot because they wanted him to have a wealthy and successful career. In this those different experiences have given us a heart wrenching glimpse of what TwoSet’s lives might have been like if there was no TwoSet. There was just something so broken about seeing the two of them apart and in worlds that could have been quite possible: with no Brett and Eddy togetherness. Thank goodness we have TwoSet to inspire us as musicians and thank goodness that they have each other to support and guide each other! Uh, sorry about the length of this comment. I was emotional watching this, I just turned 24, and recently decided to pick up my great-grandpa's violin that was just lying around at home. I don't know where it will take me, maybe I'll just learn enough to play a satisfying melody, maybe I'll end up in a small local orchestra. But since I decided to learn violin by myself, I wanted to not pressure myself too much, and I remembered I had seen two guys on youtube making funny videos about violin. And a few weeks later I finally got the courage to watch this short film which I knew would be a lot to handle emotionally. It was very romantic, like one other comment said, to me this is a love story, love for music and life and of course each other. Well, I don't have anyone that's a constant in my life like these two, and I don't have enough skill in anything to truly rely on it, but I hope I can reach some of that love for life in my own way someday. (Also, even though I watched this not breathing with my hand over my mouth, I did not cry but smiled fondly at that animated bit in the end that reminded me of Your Name, and at seeing the bubble tea, and Chloe Chua!)

So its like that eddie was in a dream at the start, and he wakes up and he is working in a office and is miserable af. He comes home and finds his violin case which ties to his love for music then to brett. So he picks it up and memorys of the past comes in. Brett introduced him to violin and ling ling gifted eddie a violin which was used when eddie and brett did a performance. Turns out brett has a short time to live and died.(the 20hr clock represents that bretts 40hrs is up, and the 5 bars represent bretts life and since there is no music notes it means he is dead) and eddie in the stage alone really makes him depressed. Back to the reality eddie wakes up and anime comes in showing what would really happen when brett was alive i thinkd thats it

Without knowing the context of this story, I can’t emphasise enough how much this relates to Twoset themselves as it reflects on the countless times they mention or make jokes about how things could’ve gone for their career in violin if they did certain things differently such as daily routines. To make this into a short film truly implies the struggles and dreams they’ve gone through and I really do believe that at least one of them had this kind of dream where their paths could’ve been very different. Elegantly shot and carefully orchestrated to present this hypothetical scenario of a new side of Twoset we’ve never seen before. Chloe being there caught me by surprise but also says a lot of respect the audience have for the reputation Twoset has gained since the launch of this channel. This is a huge step towards many more great collaborations, live performances or whatever it may be that will show how impactful these two have been for the violin/classical community. THANK YOU FOR THIS BRETT AND EDDY…

Dare I say it, but I think this is a ‘better’ work than the b2tsm. I mean b2tsm was fun and clever, but this is more moving and intriguing. And Jordon He’s music is really really good. And the professional film work too.

Whoever told you that is a bad friend who doesn't understand the purpose of art. I believe art is at its best when the artist works for their own gratification, not for the approval of others, so as long as it brings you joy then you should pursue it with all your heart. And never forget that all the greatest artists throughout history, all of your favourite musicians and painters and sculptors and circuit designers and so on, all of them started off with exactly the same level of talent as someone picking up a paintbrush or a violin or a lump of clay for the first time - all of them had to practice relentlessly to master their craft. So don't be discouraged if you're not at the level you want to be just yet, you CAN get there through practice.

Things I love: - The present rooms where you two are brooding has BBC Sherlock vibe, the part that John sat silently and then open his drawer with his handgun. Nice cinematography 👍🏻. - Violin melody (and maybe other instruments too?) is the only communication sound. GENIUS! - Feature fellow violists and fellow passionate artists and fellow passionate staff because this is TwosetViolin, of course you are all passionate for your violin. Bravo! - The transition scene of Eddy drooping your head is laser synchronized from dreamland to reality. Man, what a fine actor you are. - The way Brett laying there supposedly to look coma-sad but just adorable with your glasses still on for who know how long you have laid there 😂👍🏻. - The violin sound makes Brett’s heart monitor beep again. OH My GHost! And 4 lines to represent the strings!!!! I am like Oh shooting stars? and 0.3 seconds later oh of course it’s the strings~~~~. - There are 2 subtitle lines in this short movie and they shot straight to the heart. Man, what a touching concept. What would happen if I didn’t give up back then and the world that I supposedly to fit in. It’s… ethereal. - You two play your beloved violins side by side is the sight to behold. - Animation fusion!? GET OuT oF HeRE!!! THAT’s AWESOME!!! MY anime heart!!!!!!! I need a full 2 hours movie of this from you two. Don’t care if it contains violin melody only and without dialogue. Who need to talk?! Gosh, so magnificent, this level of art that everyone can watch and understand and relate, not just violinists, but they are the main focus, but anyone can feel the pull of what ifs and I’m glad I made a commitment to the things that bring joy and contentment to my soul. Beautiful collaboration, bravos Eddy and Brett and every single one of the staff behinds this. 👏 🎻💝 With love, from someone who play no instruments, you two make me appreciate violin like no one can. With the exception of Sherlock Holmes, of course 😉. Update: June 9, 2022; Just downloaded Fantasia from iTune and put on loops. 🎵💝

Oh goodness, this hit home in so many ways! I'm a med student now, and I love and have always have loved medicine, but when I left violin it was because of relentless mockery from my parent at my playing boring music and essentially refusing to let me practice whenever they were around (I.e. most of the time since I went to classes after school). I'm so glad I found this channel, I finally found the courage to pick the instrument up again having moved out, and I will go back to my teacher next month. I don't care that I don't have a chance of ever playing professionally, I love what I do now, but this is something I love just as much. I want to channel my musical background into medical research, and am currently working on writing a paper on preserving fine motor functions in musicians undergoing brain surgery (nothing too fancy, just a case report). So you can channel unrealized dreams in other ways. Even Sibelius dreamed of becoming a soloist, but even though he never played professionally, he did compose some of the most wonderful pieces ever written. To every music lover who stopped for one reason or another: Music isn't like surgery or astrophysics, you don't need a degree or an operating room or a lab or 10 years of training to do it. Pick up an instrument, start singing if you're a singer, and go on KZbin if you're stuck.

I quit piano for law school and play every once in a while when I have a little bit of time, but I find it discouraging as I’ve lost a bit of mobility in my hands and can’t play as I used to so I get frustrated and stop playing for longer periods of time. Twoset has inspired me to play even when I can’t do it as I used to and I couldn’t reach the level that I could’ve anymore, and I’m starting lessons again this summer. I think what you said about not needing a degree to play is very important. You need a bit of courage and humility to recognize what you’re able to do in your circumstances, but it’s important to realize that you are doing it out of passion and not to be judged by anyone else.❤️

After watching this and reading some of the comments, it struck me that the beautiful thing about this film is that it spoke to so many people on different levels; from inspiring some to explore an old or abandoned artistic passion to helping others connect to their memories of people who have passed. I'm glad to see these two embracing their full creative artistic potential. This was how the film hit me. Too often (myself included) we judge ourselves solely based off of how we play on stage and how many concerts we have booked in a year. We feel confined by the box we have made as to what a concert musician "should be". I think it is important to remember that this concept is only fairly recent in it's creation. After all: Bach was a church musician, Liszt followed a passion for literature, Schumann was a family man and Chopin blossomed in the cross disciplinary artistic environment of the salons in Paris. There is no magic formula for being a concert musician. Even when someone chooses a professional life in the arts - it is good to remember that the boxes which limit our creativity are often of our own making.

This is beautiful! After watching this, I found myself wondering what the hidden meaning behind the narrative was; and after some time to think, I came back and watched this again. (Although, I will easily find myself watching this over and over and over again.) My interpretation: We start with a narrative of two realities. The "main reality" from where the story is told is one where Eddy became a office worker - having assumedly obeyed his parents'/mother's will. He still has his violin, which upon seeing, he begins to fantasize about a reality where he had instead followed his heart and continued music. We are sent through the mirror - the "alternate reality" - where we see Eddy with Brett. However, while Eddy seems growing in awe and excitement about this reality, Brett looks... lifeless. He wonders something like, "Was this reality what I was meant to see?" Back to the "main" reality, Brett is resting on a hospital bed. Brett fantasizes about pursuing violin with a burning passion, but he passes away without having achieved it, leaving Eddy along on stage. After all, if this was a representation of when Brett got really ill that one time, and that in the "main reality" Eddy was no longer close friends with Brett (having to be an office worker), assumedly no one would have been able to catch whatever deteriorated Brett's health in time for him to survive. If Eddy had not continued music, had not created TwoSet with Brett, had not been there to notice Brett's failing health, had not been there to care for him, and had not been there when they needed each other the most, would our reality have been one of Eddy spending his days as an office worker and Brett having passed away too soon? I believe this is the message they have weaved into this film, which I find very beautiful. They portrayed our reality as the alternate reality, and the "office worker" reality as the true reality. Makes you wonder if they perhaps did this as if to say, "I can't believe where we are right now. It feels like a fantasy". P.S. Thanks for reading, if you did 😂 If you find this comment amongst the sea waves, do leave your own interpretation! I'd love to hear it :3

As someone who grew up playing the cello, played for 14 years, and then fell out of it for the real "corporate" world instead of following my passion, this hit me in the feels more than you can possibly imagine.

I’m a person who doesn’t cry often but this made me bawl. The part when Brett is laying in the hospital bed hits too close to home. The feeling of laying in a hospital is so surreal. I was diagnosed with type one diabetes around the age of 11-12. The idea of just laying in a hospital bed just brings me to tears and I honestly don’t know why and it’s not like I had a horrible experience. I think the worst part is that I do not want to think about having to see my own parents one day in a hospital bed I don’t think I could handle it. I also don’t want to end up on the hospital bed again due to complications I feel like I couldn’t bare that to be the end is in the hospital. Now just to think of it it’s almost like a life cycle most of us born at the hospital, majority of us die in the hospital. If anyone actually sees this (probably won’t) thank you for tuning in and may you be blessed in health ❤

I am so grateful for your work and content, whatever little I know about classical music now is thanks to you both. If you ever come to India, I'd be happy to buy tickets to your show and also offer to show you around Mumbai! ❤️

I wonder how others would interprete the film. For me it was like that: It starts with the cliffhanger after the virtual tour. Brett couldn't come back from the past and landed in hospital, his mind still trapped in the mirror, where is an in-between-the-times world. Eventually he dies. Eddy couldn't come over the loss of his best friend and quitted twoset and the violin. He found a regular job, sitting in the office all day. Only in his dreams the past is coming back, letting him wonder how it would be if they were still side-by-side, performing. He sees his old violin in the corner of his room and dreaming about what could have been makes him decide to touch his violin and somehow he feels reconnected to his best friend (of which the bubble tea reminds him as well) and found the love to music again.

I watched this for the first time yesterday, and I think it has changed something in me. For years I've been thinking that I'd never be able to make a career out of music: it'd be too stressful, it'd kill my love for it, I don't have the grit or determination. But I'm looking out on a potential future where I don't pursue that and I don't think I'd ever be happy. Something would be missing forever. I already feel like I could have been so much more than I am. I started piano fairly young, at 11, and I loved it, still do. At 12 I fell into depression and it proceeded to steal the next 7 years of my passion and potential. I still played but I never had enough energy to get very far. The following 5 years I barely played at all, burnt out from just surviving, forcing myself to accept a simple life, a future where I do things I mildly tolerate in order to live. Yet now, knowing I could've been so much more, I look upon that future and realize that thought would never leave me. So something must change. I don't yet know what my path forward will be, what could be left for me. I was on the right track but was too stifled to ever make use of it, but now there is hope. And I want, so fervently need, to see how far it can take me. I want a future where I can look back on 'FANTASIA' and say it changed my life.

I will rewatch this until the day I leave this planet because you two have seriously helped me to not end. I used to hate piano classes and I knew nothing about classical music, I hated everything that had to do with my music life and that made me miserable, I never knew why. But after discovering you two, discovering an online classical music community and binging all your videos, i fell in love with my instrument. I fell in love with music all over again, I remembered why I wanted to learn piano again, I wanted to create music. Not only did twoset introduce me to classical music, but they also helped me improve my piano skills through reawakening my love for piano, words cannot express how much I love twoset and how proud I am of them for making it so far. I really really do wish to meet them one day so I could thank them in person

@@Idkwhattoputlmaoejjdjsdn it's not only just you, i think there could've been more context or story at the beginning after eddy wakes up from his some sort of dream, since the way it started after that dream is like a summary of events rather than more longer scenes that could've given more context as to what happened at the past but overall, for a first short film and probably on a budget constraint (correct me if I'm wrong), it's very good.
