Authentic Bastard I think that the whole idea of mainstream music is that it is simple enough for everyone to enjoy and while people don’t always like it and it can be repetitive, it is accessible to everyone no matter what your music background is. You cannot deny there is a trend among “cool” people to say that pop music sucks and they don’t know any of it because it makes them sound edgy and original, but in the case of classical musicians, they are learning music in its most complicated form and therefore it would seem boring to listen to simple stuff when it doesn’t seem challenging or complex to their ears.

Vagabond Wastrel Now that’s quite an elitist take right there. Get off your high horse. Despite agreeing with you on how terrible I also think most pop music is, there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying pop music. It’s designed to he enjoyed. Not analyzed.

@@jyotissem9785 To be proud that you don't consume garbage isn't egotistical. Allow me to explain why. The Ego is concerning what you believe you are, not everything that you aren't. Because what is left outside of what you believe you are, but everything else?
@TheMaverickSoldier4 жыл бұрын
@@jyotissem9785 Please, feel free to feel however you like: however, I didn't say one should feel shame for knowing any pop songs and neither did he. He said he doesn't feel shame and I simply said one can be proud that they don't partake in the consumption of garbage. If you spent any time at all researching what the music industry has done with music, you'd agree with me. This quote isn't verbatim, To measure the intelligence of any period of time simply listen to their music. I don't remember who said it but I agree entirely. Btw, it's not just classical.. older music is better and the further we come to present time the worse it gets. Jazz, blues and other genres include more intricate chords and progressions for example. You find most songs today will follow the most vanilla chords such as G,D,C throughout the entire song. Whereas in the past, these chords had variations often included such as G7,Dm7 and Cmaj7. (reported in Consequence of Sound), the average reading level of big #1 pop song in 2005 was between grade three and four. An analysis of songs from 2014 now place the reading level at around grade two. Even the large effort to change the tunning of all instruments A over middle C from the natural 432 Hz to 440 Hz around the mid 20's drastically changed the impact music had on our feelings, our minds and body. Music isn't made up, it comes from nature, it was rediscovered. The universe is mathematical and so is music. Is it so weird that the father of Math and Music is one in the same? The first concrete argument for a fundamental link between mathematics and music was perhaps made by the early philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, often referred to as the “father of numbers.” He can also be considered the “father of harmony,” given that his discovery of the overtone series and analyses of the acoustics and ratios involved in music have served as the foundation of harmony in western-hemisphere music composition ever since. The Pythagorean, Quadrivium and Platonic classifications of mathematics were based on hierarchical dimensions, starting with arithmetic, then geometry, astronomy and finally music. The music or harmony of the spheres.Pythagoras, having ascertained that the pitch of notes depends on the rapidity of vibrations, and also that the planets move at different rates of motion, concluded that the sounds made by their motion must vary according to their different rates of motion. Music isn't what we've been told but then again, nothing is.
