I don’t blame the kid in the first fake buskers. His mom was most definitely the one who planned the performance, she’s the one holding a sign too. She probably was just trying to profit from this kids violin lessons, like: "I payed for the violin lessons, so I need to make profit!" She probably bribed him to do it, sayings things like: "But we are going to make money, I’ll buy you something with it!" And if she didn’t have to bribe him to do it, you know who he was raised by. And if you say that they need money, she can afford giving her son violin lessons, and speakers. Not to mention their clothes, makeup, and so much more. Side note: They probably used that audio, since there was a beat. So there would be an excuse to have a speaker there. The kid should be defended, but people are defending him for the wrong reasons. The mom is completely at fault here though.

The people defending that violin kid scamming scares me, especially as a (visual) artist, art is stolen so much daily and there's never been a solution to it. And if the internet is teaching younger generations that stealing someone's work is ok, I can't even imagine the amount of art theft there'll be in the future
@xtwinni3 жыл бұрын
I mean, I'm gonna defend the kid. He's a child, a minor. There's clearly an adult with him, that person is the one where all the anger should be directed at. And I'm sorry, but the copyright music is the least of the problems here. The main question people should be wondering is why the hell is this adult using a child to busk on the streets. It's like exploitation basically, and is similar to the kind of human trafficking that often happens in first world countries. This isn't about stealing work, this is about why the fuck is an adult doing that with a kid, why can't that adult provide for the kid on their own, etc etc. These are the concerns that run through my mind when I see that vid, the music is like last priority.
@starrynights58553 жыл бұрын
@@xtwinni true that is a good point, I'm not saying it's the kid's fault, because they most likely don't know better, and it's true that the adult is at fault, because they clearly seem like a guardian / or have some kind of authoritative power and influence which should not have been used to gain attention or for their own profit. And yea you're right, manipulation and exploitation are bigger problems than art theft, however, I'm saying from my point of view as being a visual artist for years and have been on the internet, that I've seen art theft daily so it comes to my mind more often than probably some one who is like an engineer or something. Again I'm not saying it's the kid's fault, but the adult who is teaching these ideals and the people in the tik tok comments saying that it's ok, cause not only does this encourge art theft but the whole manipulation and exploition issues as people will most likely see it as a way to get some money without consequence or cost, and everyone knows that a lot people will practically do anything for money.
@hrennvpalto3 жыл бұрын
Well, maybe that kid himself agreed to such things, you can't know for sure. Anyway he is in that same age when you actually start to use your own brains. @grahamd.87133 жыл бұрын
You're working yourself up over nothing, mate. All this undue recognition these fake musicians are receiving really isn't worth that much. In some cases these aren't even their tiktok vids to monetize. And those that do monetize them, well... you can pretty easily google how much that amount of likes/subscribers is worth, and it's not exactly a windfall. And as buskers, I doubt if they're pulling in more than a 50$ a day with their routines. And it's not sustainable. You can't keep up that same act in the same spot all day every day and make a fortune. They'll eventually get chased out of that parking lot by a security guard and have to hump their way to some other location, set up, and do it all again. Outside in the heat, with bugs, and annoying people and cars. Are you really jealous of all that? If so, you can always fire up TikTok yourself... real musicians are also permitted to use it. Get yourself out there and rake up those sweet sweet likes if it's so easy. As a real musician you can rest easy that you'll not be stealing anything or scamming anyone. But ain't nobody getting rich here with any of this stuff. They're scrapping by with their little show, and some people throw them some likes/looks and forget about them. After one or two videos they never click on them again. It's just fodder. It's not even the same audience who would ever watch real musicians video (because it's obviously fake), so it's not as though they're really poaching the looks from real musicians. They're scrapping up likes/coins from a totally different group of people... people who want a story and performance. It's not sustainable, lucrative or scalable, because as soon as anyone started making more than a few dollars doing it, and tried to take their act off the curb, they would get sued/fired/etc. What are they gunna do, sell out Carnegie Hall? Give a TED talk? Get invited to meet the president? No. This is just scavenging, and can never evolve to more than that. Don't let it bother you. As a real musician this presents no threat to you. The time you spend being concerned or bothered about it is the probably the only way in which it actually impacts your life/career.

Parents teaching their children to act immorally is not uncommon, at least not uncommon in the places I've lived here in the US. Granted, it's probably not uncommon worldwide, but to comment on what I've seen, I used to work a number of security jobs for different businesses and department stores. I've seen parents stuff merchandise in their kid's clothing. I've seen parents outright instructing their kids how to look for, and avoid, security cameras. And maybe in the grand scheme of things, a few people lose a little money from being swindled, or a rich business loses a couple hundreds dollars in merchandise, but the real horror is that kids are being raised to act in ways that will at some point land them in jail, or at least before a judge. It's just really sad to see that adults are actively raising thieves and liars of their children. I was shocked the first time I saw it. Tbh, I'm still a bit shocked every time I see something like it. It's a really terrible state of affairs.

I play viola and flute over here, and even without much piano or guitar knowledge it’s so easy to see the fake ones. like mentioned in the Harry Potter one, they literally had 4 different notes on one key. and I think mostly with guitars, you’re supposed to strum multiple strings instead of just plucking. one thing I can confirm about the guitar is that they had different notes on one string similarly to the piano. really hope that people can acknowledge these are fake, but the fake violins imo are hilarious, especially when their bow hold is wrong, something is off timing, and even worse when the hair isn’t even touching the string, just the wood.

I saw a new electric violinist playing in my city the other day, replacing a regular busker at the same location who I know plays real (the old busker sounds the same with electric and acoustic violin). It was tricky because this new busker clearly knows how to play. Her left hand and bowing matches most of the notes and has legit vibrato. I thought it was real in the at first look and gave her money for the beautiful music. However, after staying for a little longer, I started to notice small mismatches between her playing and the music. I felt being lied to, but was hastened to confront her because her case is different than the obvious fakers showed by 2set. She was actually playing the notes (or most of it). If you tell her to turn of the audio and play unaccompanied, she can probably do an excerpt with no problem. She just masked her likely flawed playing with perfect recordings. So it is more like lip-sync and auto-tone during live singing concerts? Wonder what others think about this.

i think that ruins the idea of busking. busking is all about getting immediate feedback for your work-whether it's good or bad. if all she wanted was to showcase her work, she should just record it and put it on youtube. when a person busks, there is an unspoken agreement between the musician and the audience: i put my heart out on the line for you, and if i'm good, you'll let me know. to me, it's more like watching a stage play vs watching a tv show. if i wanted to see a perfect performance, i'd watch something that was filmed and edited. audiences go to see a stage play because they want to see how the performer acts live, and the performer gets the gratification of a live reaction.

The problem with this is that they give fake "musicians" the clout, while real musicians who have actually studied and are excellent in their respective instruments (nikocado avocado with the violin for example), have to find other ways to get that exposure, payment and praise. I believe he spiraled down to what he is today because he didn't get enough attention for being good at what he likes, and now he has to act like how he acts right now because it is the drama and slowly killing himself with the amount of food he's eating, that gave him exposure. Edit: this is just my opinion, sorry if you dont agree. I dont support nikocado but you have to admit it's kinda sad.

When I parked the car I saw an electric violinist playing pop songs that sounded like a MIDI file/karaoke track. I saw a sign that said my father is poor and we need money something like that. I never seen a man wearing JORDANS and playing an ELECTRIC violin for a bargain. When he played Just Give Me a Reason from P!NK, I saw his bow sliding to the fingerboard, his vibrato was off, he needs to fix his bow hold, his money is in a cup on the violin. Not to mention, he even played on a rest on that song. It’s just so embarrassing and SACRILEGIOUS that a young thug is fake playing IN FRONT OF A GROCERY STORE.
