Actually Albert Einstein did a thought experiment with a similar concept to this; basically, in this ought experiment, he though, "if I were to get in a car that's facing a clock and then back up at the speed of light, then I could only see the time displayed on the clock at the moment I started backing up". If you follow his train of thought, then theoretically, there could be no end to the amounts of practice you could do.

Flute: A few of The hardest repertoire I have seen goes to Saint-Saëns La volière, Borne’s Carmen Fantasy, Chant de Linos by Jolivet and Schubert’s Variations. There is not really THE paganini for flute, more like insanely difficult repertoire made by various composers. Sure there is arrangement from other instruments but that doesn’t count

I just wanted to say something on the off chance people read this lmao. I'm lucky to have grown up in a musical household - both sisters play instruments (Viola and Cello respectively) and I grew up playing the piano and later the guitar and viola (cue viola jokes). Eventually life got in the way (uni/school work mainly ) so I ended up stopping pretty much all instruments (except the guitar because I was using that for my GCSE music exams). I also have bilateral hearing loss since I was 2 or 3 but it's been deteriorating rapidly, give or take every 6 months, since I was 16 (I'm currently 23). My hearing loss affects hearing high and low frequencies in particular and has got to the point where I can't enjoy music as much anymore (e.g I can't hear anything on the E string at all except if it's ridiculously loud) but I watch TwoSet videos a lot. They give me memories of performing at school, make me remember the high and lows of playing an instrument and also the inside jokes. Thank you TwoSet! Edit: Thank you for all the likes and comments! I hope that you have a good day and good things come to you :)

I may not totally understand your condition, but I am going through something similar. I play piano, still learning. But I kinda have to tone it down because of tinnitus and hyperacusis. Have to use earplug on my left ear (right ear is alright, but sometimes affected when the left ear starts ringing) on daily basis and playing piano because the ringing can get extremely unbearable when I reach the righmost side of the keys, from around D6 to D8. Now, I still struggle to play but with the ear plug, it become decently bearable. I hope you will continue to enjoy music despite your condition but please please please take care of yourself first. (And that violin part, yes, that hurts so much. I watch Twoset videos or any video with only one side of earphone on my right ear.)

He had a ‘sod it’ moment and gave me my present (very) early to cheer us both up. I am now a proud exponent of the fact that: GENIUSES ARE BORN NOT CREATED (Just kidding. Go practice) I cried. What a nice thing to do :) It was nice to shed a happy tear today over something simple like a t-shirt. Earlier today I had used Eddy’s video on vibrato to try to finally get just the tiniest whisper of vibrato (sad attempt to feel any sense of achievement lol), and just for a moment, I did. Many composers wrote symphonic pieces where the double bass parts are impossible to play, but that is mostly because they didn't understand the instrument. Bottesini might be called the Paganini of the double bass. He wrote his own pieces to perform as a touring virtuoso, and they are still up there in terms of difficulty.

@@chopun3862 There's a technique called "slap tongue" which produces a similar percussive effect with substantially less tone than normal playing. A Norwegian saxophonist named Raaf Hekkema transcribed it in Eb minor; his version also has you hum while playing during certain sections to achieve the double-stop effect. I've decided for my own purposes to do neither of these things, because 1) I don't think they sound good and 2) slap tongue destroys reeds very quickly.

3:54 That was Vinheteiro. The Ling Ling of Pianos. He stares into your soul to know if you're practicing. Just as Brett looks through his glasses.

3:03 Paganini for tuba is Jorge Salgueiro! His concerto spans around 5 octaves, has 16th note octave jumps at like 100 bpm, and a slow movement that is consistently within the treble staff. INSANE GOD LEVEL music. Listen to Sérgio Carolino play it!
