Welcome to Part 1 of a three-part video review of the operations of Go-Ahead London General. Filmed between April and August 2022, the video studies the company’s daytime routes operating out of its south London garages. The routes featured are: 11, 14, 22, 39, 44, 57, 74, 77, 80, 87, 88 and 93. Please note that services based at Northumberland Park are NOT included, as these have been exhaustively covered in some of my other videos. This also applies to service 153 although it is now based at Waterloo.
2022 is a good year to film London General, as the DOE and SOE vehicle classes are still largely intact, although a large order placed recently for new electric vehicles signifies the demise of these buses in 2023.
In case you were wondering (as I was) what the difference is between E and EN, SE and SEN and WVL and WVN, the “N” indicates that a bus was acquired second-hand. As nearly all second-hand buses came from First Group -the “N” could reasonably stand for Northumberland Park.
I hope you enjoy the video, and please remember to look out for parts 2 and 3. Also in the pipeline is a video review of Go-Ahead London Central.
