What an amazing song, this truly is a musical masterpiece of the highest order. Definitely one of Thomas Bergersen's best songs ever. I love the beginning and how it transitions to Celtic at 1:51. Then the pirate stuff at 2:38 is cool as well as the quieter part at 3:26. The guitar at 4:01 and the funkiness at 5:30 are also pretty cool. I absolutely LOVE the part at 6:34 but I didn't like the rock starting at 7:42 as much. Nevertheless, this was amazing, you truly managed to mix every style here into one and I remember being astounded at this when I first heart it 5 years ago!

Now listen close, now listen well I have a tale to tell It starts not here, in mortal life but starts two steps from hell Two steps you say, Two steps indeed! Tho' Demons sought the fray. We fixed our spears and set our shields. For none shall bar our way! Two steps from hell, Two steps from pain And two from straits of blood We knew that should we there be slain we'd walk where Gods have trod. We saw the blood, we saw the fear and still we battled on. our foe had asked, "why stay ye here? when half your men are gone." I heard the cry, I heard the shout We answered in reply We took his taunt and hurled it back "We've come to win or die!" I see that day, I see that night that night where demons screamed Where shadows danced and comrades died all hope was lost, it seemed. We faced the lord, we faced that foe the last, the lord of sin. My friend and I, the last to stand His horde had slain my kin. That night I cried, That night I prayed for strength to carry on For might to fight and will to stand for hope when hope was gone. I stood with hope, I stood with strength I stood and swung my sword. for the souls of my brethren I struck and then I roared We'll not give up, we'll not give in We'll always fight this tide. I swung my sword and with a groan That prince of Darkness died I sat in blood, I sat in gore and i knew that we'd won We'd slain the beast and lived to tell the tale of Veldann's fall.

Mood changes to a story: 0:00 The three iron-clad warriors wearing helmets of war set foot upon their ship of battle, for they were to set sail upon their voyage of discovery, for there pride had been fractured in the battle of their village, which had ended in the burning of them homeland. They set sail at dusk, the morning light enveloping them upon their ship, their village a remnant of the past which had only sorrow and death left upon it, for they were leaving and starting anew. 1:50 The day greeted torrential waves crashing against the might bulk of the skillfully crafted ship, the water struck the boat with the Strength of a Thousand Men (another great song), the three brave vikings steered and eventually cleared the demoness waves. 3:54 It began to rain, yet they proudly sailed on. wave after wave they continued to cross the ocean landscape, from time to time bright light cascaded across the raining ocean. Soon they found themselves among a group of large dark rocks, each of the rocks portraying a solemn deathly mood, then disaster struck. Bolts of burning electricity shot from the sky, bright light flew from the bolts, sending burning hot death across their boat. 4:02 The warriors with their armor glistening in the fire looked at each other and nodded,5:09 silently agreeing upon a sworn oath. They fought the fire, using the wrath of the waves, as the boat was tossed and turned, the flame had eventually fed enough and diminished to a pitiful spark. The storm still raged violently across the ocean, although in the distance the vikings could see salvation, 6:34 a bright haven at the end of the sky and a hope of continuation as the sea it seemed, was a never ending abyss of dread. They set sail for the point and position towards it, they continued through the rain and thunder through the lightning, and through destruction. 7:41 For they remembered their families that once thrived on the land and fed on hope and love, for they were innocent souls which once were alive, but now it was them, and only them. They were the ones which were to carry on the memories of their loved ones, and to hold them deep in their hearts for they still existed, and because of this their hope lived on. - End Oh... That took a while to write, isn't the best, isn't the worst. To lazy to edit :p. Oh well, what I listen to when I animate! THANK YOU TSFH!

fernando pinto gil Well, I agree with you that many Two Steps from Hell songs are better than Despacito. However, I accept the fact that Despacito is more commercially successful. Because music is now very accessible, it's very competitive. So Pop music now has to be easily digested and stick in your head. When we listen to Two Steps from Hell, we listen to every notes and melodies. Not everyone can appreciate and enjoy Two Steps from Hell songs. At least, I can relate that to myself 5 years ago.
