This is Thomas Bergersen, true to himself. He can make any kind of music without being bound by a genre, a set of instruments or a time period. He's always experimenting, trying new ways to reach out to us through his music. He IS music. You may like this kind of style or not, but this experimentation is one of the the reasons he is certainly one of the best, if not the best composer that ever lived. I love this track.

About the time I've heard this track, I started to be sure Thomas is for now the best composer in the history of humanity. "He dislikes the concept of music genres, which he thinks limit music to certain structures for the purpose of classification" - exactly this is why others are less impressive than Thomas. Especially when you put together rock and noble power of an orchestra, it feels like an army marching into the center of emotions

Thomas J Bergersen has the knowledge of the old masters, but the skill to push a period through and use modern instrumentation with the old rules and principles. To naysayers, it isn't the instruments that make music great, it's how you utilize them in your piece. An electric guitar is just as beautiful as a violin if played correctly, and if used in the composition properly. Infact, it would be a crime not to diversify instrumentation, or you would simply be ignoring innovation. The baroque, classical, and romantic periods are long since gone, I'm afraid.

agree totally, what Thomas and TSFH( and Nick!) do to music can only be done if you understand the complexities of harmonies, key changes, modulation, phrasing etc,the reason this music 'speaks' to me is because they know how to work with the different frequencies of sound for the most awesome resonating result-addicted to all genres of TSFH,Thomas and Nick's work

Reminds me of a tale from music history. Bach thought the piano was an unsophisticated instrument and refused to write for it. It was too modern, basically the electric guitar of that time. It really took until the Romantic period and composers like Beethoven to prove the piano was beautiful and worthy of traditionally classical music.

Thomas Bergersen makes literally the best orchestral music I've ever heard. And he combines orchestral and vocals better than any other artist I know. And just to top it off he makes a better beat drop than most electronic artists out there, and transitions amazingly well from a full orchestra to an amazing drop. Damn, Thomas Bergersen is one amazing guy.

This is a track that people have to hear with headphones such as Sennheiser HD 800's to appreciate the true depth of the sound. Once you have a great pair of over-ear headphones (no, not ear buds!) you will begin to actually feel the music as opposed to simply listening to it. Although counterintuitive, playing around with the "surround" settings as opposed to simply stereo really allows the layers to come to life.

How can anyone keep making the most amazing pieces of music one after the other. Thomas is brilliant. I listen to him while I am painting my art.

I've listened to this for more than 10 hours overall and never noticed the subtle tick sound on the left side from around 7:30 to 7:45 until recently. I'm suprised you can even hear it on KZbin

At 3:14 when the vocals come in, it sounds kind of like 30 Seconds to Mars, especially when the dubstep beat kicks in. I like it, really shows a side of Thomas I've never seen before.

And so... In defense of all we love, in defense of our families, our freedoms, our gods, we travel into the deep, we seek the unknown to pacify and conquer it, to make it new, and to make it ours. We travel past new horizons, and though we may not do everything we wish, we will make sure that our trip Into Darkness, is not in vain.

She is not really the best in the world or anything, but she is really nice to listen to. Over-rated is a term rampantly used to berate things that do not suite the person's taste. She is enjoyable. That is why she is fairly well known. For a lot of people, her level of fame seems about right.
