This is Thomas Bergersen, true to himself. He can make any kind of music without being bound by a genre, a set of instruments or a time period. He's always experimenting, trying new ways to reach out to us through his music. He IS music. You may like this kind of style or not, but this experimentation is one of the the reasons he is certainly one of the best, if not the best composer that ever lived. I love this track.

About the time I've heard this track, I started to be sure Thomas is for now the best composer in the history of humanity. "He dislikes the concept of music genres, which he thinks limit music to certain structures for the purpose of classification" - exactly this is why others are less impressive than Thomas. Especially when you put together rock and noble power of an orchestra, it feels like an army marching into the center of emotions
@SherlockHolmes00010 жыл бұрын
Thomas J Bergersen has the knowledge of the old masters, but the skill to push a period through and use modern instrumentation with the old rules and principles. To naysayers, it isn't the instruments that make music great, it's how you utilize them in your piece. An electric guitar is just as beautiful as a violin if played correctly, and if used in the composition properly. Infact, it would be a crime not to diversify instrumentation, or you would simply be ignoring innovation. The baroque, classical, and romantic periods are long since gone, I'm afraid.
@naomirosenberg17667 жыл бұрын
agree totally,what Thomas and TSFH( and Nick!) do to music can only be done if you understand the complexities of harmonies,key changes,modulation,phrasing etc,the reason this music 'speaks' to me is because they know how to work with the different frequencies of sound for the most awesome resonating result-addicted to all genres of TSFH,Thomas and Nick's work

@Sherlock Holmes That's what I don't like about Thomas' new album "American Dream" : It's way too classical for my taste!
@robynmck6 жыл бұрын
Reminds me of a tale from music history. Bach thought the piano was an unsophisticated instrument and refused to write for it. It was too modern, basically the electric guitar of that time. It really took until the Romantic period and composers like Beethoven to prove the piano was beautiful and worthy of traditionally classical music.

Thomas Bergersen makes literally the best orchestral music I've ever heard. And he combines orchestral and vocals better than any other artist I know. And just to top it off he makes a better beat drop than most electronic artists out there, and transitions amazingly well from a full orchestra to an amazing drop. Damn, Thomas Bergersen is one amazing guy.

This is a track that people have to hear with headphones such as Sennheiser HD 800's to appreciate the true depth of the sound. Once you have a great pair of over-ear headphones (no, not ear buds!) you will begin to actually feel the music as opposed to simply listening to it. Although counterintuitive, playing around with the "surround" settings as opposed to simply stereo really allows the layers to come to life.

Wow! I mean Wow!!! Lots of emotions in this song. Calm, then powerful, then unexpectedly mind blowing.

I could've done with a bunch of violins or instruments like that, instead of th voices, but it's still a very beautiful and driving piece, in my opinion. Great work, Bergersen. Still my favourite composer of all time!
