Good job, Gary! GPAA has been making a bundle of money on those clean up sluices for years. Heres a little tip, when you see the mobile gutter installers in your neighborhood, they will usually give you a piece of gutter for nothing. I have used these with the two bucket 12 V bilge pump recirculating method. They work great once you figure out the proper rate of fall. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos. You my friend are a wealth of information for both the beginner prospector and us old timers!

Thanks to you Gary, we built our own adjustable cleanup sluice so we could adjust the rate of fall, but I welded rifflers to catch the extra smalls that might have got lost. Finally like you, we added the roll and extended our sluice to suit our prospecting. You painstakingly built a beaut there. You have a wonderful simple method, and above all are patient. You're a great teacher, too. So many thanks to you, though I should have thanked you sooner. All the very best!

Great video thanks for showing how to make this... I live in Wisconsin so we have no real need here for a gold pan. But I do have some old bags of safety that split open. So I want to see if there's any gold in it like I've seen others find... So I'll make a screem to sceen it down and make me one of those being I already got everything but the mat, and I'm sure Manards will have that... Thanks again... BUT I would really like to see how you run it... Be blessed...

Two years later and people like me are still finding and watching this for the first time! Definitely going to be making one of these as soon as I can get the materials together. A couple questions: the first is what kind of solvent did you use for cleaning off the xtra glue? The second is can you get away with using gutter that isn’t grooved on the top? If at least one side was grooved would it be pretty straight forward to glue down the other side? Ok, 3 questions.
@TwoToes3 жыл бұрын
I put a little Acetone on a rag and wipe it off. With the environmentally friendly glues they have now, myself I would like the insurance of it being held in by the groove.

It come on a 3 foot wide roll. The ribs run across the roll so you can just get the amount you need. I think its made to be hall runner.

Couple of questions: It looks in your end shot of the glue-in vs. the slide-in version that the FLAT side is UP. is that just a trick of the light-and-camera? Also - what is the length of those little jewels? And why did you decide on THAT length? And again - most gutter systems have premade end caps. Why not use those instead of the cut-and-bend version? Great sluices! Some of us are a little slow, though, and need more info. (Me, for example.)
@TwoToes6 жыл бұрын
They are a little over 3 feet. The mat comes 3 foot wide, that is the longest you can go. I'm cheep, why buy a end cap when you can make one in 5 minuets. Thanks - Gary
