I got this printer on sale for 329$ on Black Friday. It was the easiest build/1st print I have done in my life. Are there some issues, yes. Are there as many issues as I have had with any other printer, not even close. Issues Took a while to get the bed stable by adjusting the eccentric nuts but keeping the eccentric nuts towards the outside of the build plate helped a lot. Great planning Two Trees. After 3 prints the grub screw came loose inside the extruder. When I fixed it I used loctite thread locker, I doubt that issue will come up again. l will say those 1st 3 prints kicked butt. I just finished fixing it so I cant be sure but I am guessing my prints will be even better now. I think the combination of the 0.9 degree stepper motors for all functions, the 2209 drivers for all motors, the better lead screws, and the auto adjusting Z gantry wheel assembly made for some very impressive prints from a very stable, well designed, precise printer. Is it slow yes do you need a lot of retraction yes do the prints come out amazing yes Is it the easiest printer I have ever used, without a doubt. The latest version of Cura had a profile for this printer and the settings were dead on. No tweaking or messing with settings. I remember the times when it seemed to take days to finally get the bed level enough to form a good print. Then the good print stuck to the bed and needed to be pried off. After that I couldn't figure out why my level was shot. That was actually again a year ago. FYI I recently tried the anycubic Vyper and that was a complete disaster. I will be returning it. Bang for the buck this printer( the Bluer Plus/5) is my choice especially for newbies. I would reccomend it without hessitation even at the $400 Price.

I wrote this whole comment before I heard you talk about retractions at 13:09 in the video. You went about this in the wrong way imo, you should’ve properly calibrated the extruder via usb. But I realize you probably didn’t do that because most people would never do something like that, they’d just up retractions I would theoretically buy one of these and throw a 0.8mm nozzle on it to increase the speed. That filament path (with the weird gap between extruder and runout sensor) is something creality made popular despite its awful design. Wifi on printers is cool but it’s something I know I’d never use. I think you can turn off that BLtouch style leveling in your gcode. Is this firmware open source? Super dope review as ways. Would love to see you upgrade it in future videos because it seems to have potential with that build size and ABL

You might be able to turn the bltouch off, but the you wouldn't have a z axis limit switch any more, as it just uses the bltouch for that. As for the extruder calibration, you're only gonna get so far. With a bowden setup and a volcano style hotend, you'll always need long retractions, even perfectly tuned, just due to the flex and amount of molten material in the system.
