Bought my 2018 Polished Bronze Scout 60. Rode it 90 miles home. Felt fine after riding it that far. Love the bike.

I have a 2016 Scout Sixty and a 2011 Suzuki GSX Fa. My Scout has the exhaust upgrade. The Engine in the Scout is great. The author of this vlog is correct when he says the engine can be reved up. At 80mph (4250 rpm) the vibration isn't bad. I commuted 112 miles over motorway and Country lanes. The suspension is the only thing that lets it down. You will have to change the shocks. The rest of the vlog is highly accurate. Great Video.

Another great video Brian. Your vids are so much more informative than most of the other vids out there. Just wanted to say thanks for all the time and effort on your part to bring great reviews of motorcycles and cigars. I was waiting for a little hint on the big reveal but no such luck. I did see the last post on instagram but that guy might just be blowing smoke. Thanks again for the great reviews and keep them coming. Do you have any plans for a comparison vid for the Verys 650 and 1000?

stage 1 is not just basically a different exhaust, its also a different air intake that is less restrictive. stage 1 is more air in and and exhaust that moves more air out = more power.

Hello, I'm planning to get this bike, do you consider a good option for beginners? Best regards
@sportrocgirl55
@sportrocgirl55 7 жыл бұрын
Benjamín Alvarez it was a fantastic option for me. It's not top heavy, easy to maneuver, controls are easy to use, neutral is easy to find, has great power, balance, not too heavy. I demo'd a couple of Harley's and Honda Shadow then the 60, it was a perfect fit for me. You go and demo different bikes. Get the one that feels like you belong on it. I felt like I had been riding this Scout and Scout 60 for years. I would definitely recommend this bike as a beginners bike. My hardest decision was what color to get.

If they gave only wet weight, manufacturers would keep shrinking the size of their gas tanks in search of having the lightest bike. Having both keeps them honest.

Do you need ask, its obvious. It's the only way to compare bike weights on a level playing field. The fact that the reviewer doesn't even know why tells me hes not a biker but reading from a spec sheet.

TwoWheelObsession I love your videos and I always look forward to watching new content you put out. I have a question about a good beginner bike for us larger folks. ( I’m 6’4, 240) The three bikes I am looking into are all you have tested , the Indian Scout Sixty, Kawasaki Vulcan S, and the Suzuki SV650, all with the ABS included. I’ve watched all 3 videos and it seemed you really liked the Suzuki. I appreciate any comments or things you liked the best out of the 3 if compared to each other .

Well, Polaris had a great display and demo rides of pretty much all their products at the 2017 MotoGP at COTA, including Victory bikes (display), slingshots and Indian bikes. Going away soon? Not so sure about that. In fact, hate to see motorcycle manufacturers go out of biz, less choices or us riders.

I’m 6’2, 240. Been riding my dads Guzzi V7 and I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on my own bike. I’m between the Vulcan 900 custom and Scout/scout 60. Which ever falls in my budget on the used market. Idk if you’ve ridden the Vulcan? What do you think would be better for someone similar height as you? Thanks.

The influence of the Victory styling is noticeable. I would like to see them do something a little different in addition to their current offerings. Based on the fact that I rarely see one on the road, I am not sure if they will survive with the "nostalgia" theme. I like them, but not enough to buy one (now). I woiuld love to see them really compete with H-D. It will be difficult to change the hardcore H-D rider mindset.

SS Lew in Birmingham AL. The Indian dealership there has a lot of used HD bikes because some of the HAD riders are trading there bikes for Indian. Indian brand will be around for a long time to compete with HD.
@kendil22
@kendil22 6 жыл бұрын
They don't have to change their minds, HD riders are aging out of riding anyway. They need to grab younger people and stay relevant, something HD isn't managing. The scout has a good chance with that, has a nostalgic look but drives like a modern bike. If they can pull that off with chiefs or new bikes they'll do well. Harley is stuck in the past, and the new riders aren't like us old timers who've been hearing "If it's not a HD!" blah blah blah.

I'm 6'1, around 320, overall big dude from Brooklyn. Crusiers seems to be the ride for me. As a first timer, you think this bike would be good for me. I've been looking at the Indian's, they have a very nice lineup. I was thinking of either getting this or the Indian Scout Bobber. Anyone have any thoughts on which Indian I should look at? Any advice will help. Please and thank you.

I recommend taking the msf course through harley to get your license before settling on a bike. From there you will know how comfortable you are on a motorcycle. If yu are still a bit afraid then pick up something used, maybe a V Star 650 that can serve as a beginner bike with enough space for your build that won't depreciate much if you drop it. After you get used to riding, test ride bikes to see if you feel comfortable on them. There would be no problem starting on a scout sixty, but you would be risking dropping a brand new bike which is not uncommon for new riders.

For the price, the Scout and Scout 60 just can't tear me away from sport bikes. I wouldn't mind the idea of a second bike, and that bike being a cruiser. But not for such a price. I'd be more inclined to buy a ten year old Japanese cruiser for a couple grand. Cruisers just seem to be a lot of smoke and mirrors and not a lot of character, performance, or anything really for the price of them. If they were half the price, and became an economical way to get into motorcycles, I think they'd have much broader appeal.
@christianconservative6370
@christianconservative6370 7 жыл бұрын
+TheRavinoth For me, it is the opposite. I'm a cruiser guy. I don't think that sportbikes have a lot of character or appeal, and they look like a fast piece of plastic. That's just from my viewpoint. I understand why some people like them, and they are welcome to them. For me, Cruisers are my thing. They are what have all the character, room for individual customization, and they ride how I feel a motorcycle should ride. Because my viewpoint is that I am paying for metal instead of plastic, and domestic instead of foreign production, I'm ok with $10,000 bike. If cost is an issue, then yes, find something used if it is something you like to ride. Bottom line, Ride what you love, and ride safe. Everyone is different.

So many sport bikes are around the same price, maybe a little less. Yes performance is better, but unless you are on a race track, hauling ass above the speed limit will get you a ticket, if you're lucky and don't crash. Then again, I like cruisers, scramblers, and standards so I am biased. Plus most people I've known that have gotten in trouble on a bike are on sport bikes
@sharksandwich101
@sharksandwich101 7 жыл бұрын
And Japanese cruisers don't hold their value as well. Personally if I were to go Japanese (which I'm not against, they make some badass machines), I'd probably play with a standard over a cruiser. But that's just me

im a new rider, and would you recommend the scout 60 to a somewhat new rider? and can someone explain the concepts of countersteering, and is it used ONLY at high speeds, and is it used at all turns? and do you push in the opposite direction for the entire turn, or just in the begining of the turn, then push in the normal direction after countersteering?

I like them but just cannot get out of my head as this is just a brand badge change from a Victory. Victory sales were not great and Polaris had to do something so slapping a badge with heritage was their go to move and I am not sure if it is working. Do not see many on the road. Now that my little rant is over, Great video and great review. You answer all the questions one may have on this bike, at least you did for me. Thanks man, Take Care.

All new engine/chassis pretty much everything from the ground up? Doesn't sound like a victory to me. They outsold Victory 5 to 1 as well, hence Victory shutting down. They kept all Victory employees and moved them to Indian.
@jde9095
@jde9095 7 жыл бұрын
With both Victory and Indian being made by Polaris and with the Victory brand not really ever doing that great sometimes all one needs is a name with heritage to improve sales. Of course they did not just swap badges but they are both made, designed and engineered by the same Company. I do like the new Indian much better than any Victory I have seen

Same suspension? Then I'm out. TheScout is way too soft in the front, makes riding it a nervous experience, and still the same crappy indicators and mirrors? Why skimp on that when the engine and frame are so beautiful? It's not like it's customisable easily. And trying to get power out of it at low revs is a pain in the ass. Pity, otherwise might make a decent city bike.
