One of the things I appreciate about both of you is that you take it as it comes.. When things are less than perfect, you don't complain and quit, but you take it as part of the adventure, and maintain a positive attitude (as much as possible). IF everything went well and according to plan, then it's not much of an adventure.

If yall spray your clothes with permethrin SFR (Repels ticks & chiggers)a few times a year bugs won't bother you....I even use vicksvaporub behind my ears when skeeters get thick.

I really enjoy your blogs. You talk through and explain what your seeing and tell some history about the places. You even talk while riding and explain what your seeing as you go along. I like that you wing it with where you are going as that is the way my wife and i did when we were traveling long distance. We don't do much traveling by motorcycle these days and just do a day ride here and there. We never did the camping seen and usually stayed in the mom and pop motels. I thank you for doing what your doing and the blogs. You two are living my dream that i can't do because of physical things so again thanks for the videos.

Frank here. Smoke does the job. Some years ago I was taught about tamping back those m'skeeters by making a smudge pot. You start a fire with sticks, leaves, pine needles, pine cones. You add larger pieces of wood of course and then WET materials as above plus wet green grass, moss, sticks, leaves. These wet materials cause tremendous billowing smoke permeating the entire camping area that tends to hover. Sure you choke a bit. Your clothes smell & stink of the smudge pot fire, but wala!!! Your bugs fly away to a region far from you. Try it you'll like it. WELL, maybe you won't like it, but neither will those pesky critters and those bumps on your head will be a thing of the past. .

I visited a friends ranch. They have two pet goats. I came outside and each goat had a front turn signal in their mouths. They had this look like "I'm not doing what you think". I was at the beginning of a 3500 mile trip. I used Gorilla tape to reattach my turn signals and it kept them on 6 months until I was able to obtain new signals. I carry a roll of it with me all the time now, along with one of folding tool implements (not swiss).

Highway 20 is one of my husband's and mine favorite rides. We try to get there at least once during the year (before they close it for the season). It's beautiful in the spring, summer and fall. Wasn't Mt. Washington overlook just the best! and Lake Diablo! WOW!!! SOOO BEAUTIFUL! I love my state! It's packed on the weekends because the road is open from May to October so we got to get in our rides. And you almost got Tulalip right. It's OK! Everyone has a hard time with some of our unique towns. Just enjoy the beauty that is Washington. That road is a blast! If you do that road again, stop in Winthrop and Twisp. Cute little towns.

On November 8, 2022 the Washington State DOT closed the North Cascade Highway for the winter. It is closed in winter due to avalanche risk. During the spring clearing the WSDOT may find snow depths of up to 80 feet where the road crosses some of the avalanche chutes. It usually takes about six weeks in the spring and heavy equipment to clear and repair the road. I was a little surprised that you didn't spend some time videoing in Winthrop WA.
