that's amazing! Lucero is an inspiration! and I'm saying that as a 40 year old who was at the skatepark riding bowls yesterday, and was the only dude smiling and whooping. skateboarding is supposed to be fun kids! if you're taking it seriously you're not skateboarding!

I baught his deck when i was younger (the model with the big cross and the elephant with a flawor on the grip side).. I progressed a lot with this board (my first nose-pick stale fish out, first board-slides on handrails, wall rides, etc...).. Great "souvenirs" and thank you John !! ;o))

Learned to skate vert at Whittier. Tighten your trucks and follow me was my lesson. When my wheels hit the tiles it was the best day of my life. Had a grosso toy block deck. Red stain. Loved that board. Rode it everywhere. I still have a sticker grosso signed for me. Till this day I still have my skate city ID.

Instantly, when I got into skateboarding for some or another unexplainable reason, being a kid of 13y in northern Germany, back in those overgloryfied nineteeneightysomethings, walking into the first serious skate shop I got to know, located right next to an almost abandoned city high rise road in good old Beck's town, Bremen, I knew these here were to be my kinda individuals, for all time! I went in, saw that new pink Grosso Toy Box Mini, bought it, ripped it to death, meaning: til' the tail was gone, til' ollieing was impossible! Then Natas Kitten, Vision's Jinx Mini, all these crazy stupid Blockhead, BBC, and Schmitt Stix planks came along. But these two kids stayed with me forever, in my heart, and mind, meaning Grosso and Lucero. I love you guys.

Whenever i think of Lucero i think of Parking Blocks/Curbs! I always wanted a Black Label Mike. V deck but never got one. A very big big thank you goes out to my old local shop in Hamilton Ontario Canada called D.M.B.C Skate n Snow!!! Because they gave me a free Black Label Vhs back in the day!!!

1987- XMas- I received my first skate video- Schmitt Stixx: Lets Go Skate... It featured the core4 of the SS team- Joe Lopes, Paul Schmitt, Monty Nolder( sick as fuk by the way!!!) John Lucero!! 30 mins of late 80s cheese dick but I must have watched that video over 100 times. Lucero could skate anything : pool, street half- pipe, curves, it didn't matter!!! He is also responsible for some of the best graffix for other skaters on different labels and then of course his on boards. Lucero is not talked about enough!!! Dude!!! Look who got their starts skating for Black Label!

One of the Godfathers of Skateboarding the creator of Black Label is like " .. and after 25 years I don't know if it was worth it.." That probably because of all the understanding and care the world has for Skateboarding - 0.001 % - Thanks so much!
