HELP I DIDNT REALIZE THAT THE TWEELS HAD CRIME-BASED NICKNAMES 😭😭

rook thinking up nicknames for the tweels like "ah yes. you would commit a crime of passion, blinded by the emotions you feel in the moment. and you would spend anywhere from 3 months to 5 years slowly building up towards the crime in order to watch your victim crumble beneath you" and did not blink

Little addendum about Epel's nickname: -ette as a suffix is used in French to put an accent on how small (and sometimes, cute) something is. For example, a "clochette" is a small "cloche" (both would be translated by "bell", but "clochette" would refer to the small bell on a cat's collar whereas "cloche" would be used for the more traditional handbell or even bigger bells) So, under this logic, "pommette" could be read as pomme + ette, which could be read as "small apple", even eventually as "small and cute apple". So basically, in the ENG server, Rook gets away with calling Epel small and cute to his face, right under his nose.

@@sorcerersapprenticeIt does, but there's a bit of a cheeky pun (pun intended)

@@sorcerersapprentice Not exactly. "Crabapple" here is written with the kanjis of "princess" and "apple", and that bit (which seems important, as, well, it's Epel. He's cute (don't say it to his face) and has been mistaken for a princess during an event) would be lost in translation... Like, no offense but "crabapple" does not look like a cute word in the slightest

@@sorcerersapprentice I'm a native French speaker, for context. Anyway, much like we could divide himeringo (crabapple) into hime (princess) + ringo (apple), what is stopping us from potentially reading pommette (which the most common definition is cheekbone) using its etymology, as in pomme (apple) + -ette (small)? (I'm not making that up, btw. I've seen it on multiple sources, including the CNRTL. Yes I actually just searched it)

Idia's is easily the funniest to me, I remember when I saw Roi de sa chambre for the first time and I just burst out laughing, like bro literally nicknamed him after the fact that he does not leave his room lmao

I love seeing comparisons between the JP and EN versions. I know EN gets flack for stuff they put in, but I still love it (sees you made the same video for Floyd's nicknams) I shall go and watch them too! Heck, I'll go and watch all your videos next because I am intrigued

I've forgotten I was who brought up the cheek thing with Epel's nickname and something didn't sit right with me, so I looked at my old tweet and in my horror saw I didn't include that It's in *English* where the front roundest part of the cheek is the apple, not the French word itself meaning that, but might've been part of why they went with "pommette". I'm so very sorry I messed up!!

So if Rook Calls MC The trickster, does that mean it's a possibility that Joker from Persona 5 Is the Perfect?! I can go on with these similarities!

I think it would be because we don't have a defined character personally in the game because they leave it up to us to decide

I don't know why Rook calls MC, Trickster either, when clearly they never done anything to earn them that nickname. Usually Rook gives those nicknames to people based on what he sees in their status and actions, so I don't know what did he see onto MC for him to gave them that nickname.
