Off topic but i just had a very...distressing premonition of a potential future event. Ruggie centered. Where he has to return to his neighborhood because his grandmother passes away. I see him late for class at the start of the event. He looks as though he is trying to process the news just before being scolded by the professor. That is until he explains that his grandmother passed away. The professor retracts their scolding and gives their condolences before asking if he would like them to request permission from the HeadMage to attend the services. Ruggie needs time to process but consents to the professor informing the Headmage of the situation. The Professor instructs everyone else to study in silence until he returns. I don't know whoelse would be part of the event but i see the end of the event being a shoutout to spirit Mufasa with his grandmother who has joined the stars looking down at Ruggie as he looks up at the stars crying with the members of the event just silently being there for support. If i had to pick anyone who might join in the event i see Floyd or Jade as despite their chatoic natures they probably know better than to be disrespectful at a funeral...

I agree both with the theory that theres different teams on the en localization that sometimes get their wires mixed up *and* that theyre only translating what they have without any knowledge of whats happening in the future. I honestly will defend the the "Idy/Idia" choice as far as book 6 goes and it makes sense they did it as opposed to having Ortho call him "big bro/older brother" as calling your siblings "brother/sister" (or any variation) all the time is pretty uncommon in American households and nicknames are more commonplace (the English localization likes to give characters nicknames in place of cute honorifics in general to get the point across - Cay-kun gets turned into Cay Cay for example, so this further tracks). So when you see someone calling someone "big brother" all the time its a pretty clear indicator the dialogue was originally in Japanese because of how common it is there, and I think this localization really wants to come off like it was always written in English - which is fairly contentious. Anyways, now when book 7 comes it sucks that some of the meaning was lost because of this change because they didnt realize what would happen. I agree that them all calling him different variations on "brother" is a lot more impactful than them all calling his name. But also, I don't think there is a way to achieve this original meaning and have it come off completely natural to the average American. Which is what happens when you try to localize something like it was always written by English speakers in America, you end up sacrificing accuracy, not just because the languages are different but also because different cultures have different perceptions of some things.

One thing I really wonder is: How do people go to Sage's Island as tourist? By car? By broom? If anyone have a clue I'll take it!

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to explain the differences between the Jp server and En server, as well as giving such a considerate theory as to how these changes may have occurred. That being said, even if we assume that the team finalised the translations a year in advance, there is still no excuse for the selfish changes that are made. Of course there are select occasions where the dialogue will not have an easy translation, like Epel’s dialect, certain linguistic puns or honourifics. With the level of detail crammed into every word, it’s not surprising they would have to make a few adjustments, some more contentious than others. But the game was out for almost 2 years before the English version was released, visuals and context for most of the content was free to play. The movies the games were based on are available on Disney+, their 7 main movies all together clocking in at a little over 10 hrs. *not suggesting they marathon it 😅 That is to say, (1) they didn’t need to make unnecessary changes to things like foods, most loan words, character titles and personal experiences and (2) the basic information they would need to consider was not unattainable, namely colours, certain plot points and references (not all of course; a discussion between server teams would have been nice). Again, with a game like this, I understand that a 1 to 1 translation would not be possible, and I don’t expect only fans of the game to be hired, but some pause in the decision making would be appreciated

They could have fixed this using "big bro" for human Ortho and "older brother" for robot ortho and many other line similar to this since some japanese stuff don't have direct English translation it would be easier to use similar English words with different weights to replace these problem instead

This Is Just A Theory. Perhaps, at one point, the crocodiles served the lions in Sunset Savanna or may have debated/fought against them in peace treaties on predatorial food sources and political matters. This led to the crocodiles to immigrate and leave the dry lands of Sunset Savanna, travelling across maps, which is why Baul's family lineage is in Briar Valley serving their military for defense. Briar Valley is known for dark forests to camouflage Faeries from their Human enemies and perfect source of destination for crocodiles to seek refuge for food and protection at night in swamps and its wetlands, yet they are able to adapt in eating human food over time.

The English voice saying the French nicknames bad has me going topsy turvy Rollo isn't there, but I find funny that Rook calls him "Rois de mouchoir" (King of Handkerchief), it's elegant and hilarious at the same time. I wish Rook met also the new characters like Fellow, Gidel, Skully so see how he would have called them.

I was recently going through the Heartslabyul (game & manga) arc, & wondering why Ace threw the punch, when the manga seemed to focus on Deuce. I had completely forgotten that Ace's dad wasn't a mage. It's really interesting to see the final battle with the new information that's canonically revealed after the Overblot.

I like the way stage magic, parlor tricks and sleight of hand are handled in Twisted Wonderland. Initially, it sounds weird that ‘fake’ magic would be regarded with any kind of intrigue when the same can be done with *actual* magic, but with the way it’s presented, it feels obvious that such a level of skill and dexterity would still illicit shock and awe-especially to fae who are more adept at sensing the use of magic.

There was another one part in Book 7, where Ace mentioned that his brother working as an amusement park staff member after graduating from NRC and is currently living with their parents. Reasons mainly because to save money and commute to the workplace, or he just wants to be able to see Ace over holidays at NRC. Their parents probably need to work harder than standard mages in Twisted Wonderland and cannot look after Ace or his brother growing up, which could be why his brother substituted as a role model to become a trickster.

From what I can glean from looking at the sprites a little bit too much, they're reusing the same body parts between different characters especially those who share similar body shape/size (including the NPCs) so it's gonna be SO much work if they make everyone have their own unique body parts, not to mention all the different costumes out there! 😭 Personally I see the sprites as "general representation" of the character while the detailed stuff comes from the respective card art! I do think Azul genuinely wants friends as well. Besides his overblot monologue and that one voiceline about wanting to be friends with a variety of people (which can be tricky to figure out if it's true or not), he's surprisingly in between the characters that seem to have a very clear, reasonable, and amicable idea of "friend" as we see when he shares it with Riddle, which makes me think he's actually thought about it carefully, or else he'd be like most of NRC and have a vague idea of it; why thoroughly ponder about what friendship means to you and view it on a positive light when you don't want it or aren't interested on it?
