TX Low Power & Battery Power Supply Options of RC6GS V3/RC6GS V2/RC6GS/RC4GS V3/RC4GS V2/RC4GS

This video applies to RC6GS V3/RC4GS V3/RC6GS V2/RC4GS V2/RC6GS/RC4GS.
Power on the transmitter. There is a warning of TX Lower Power and the transmitter keeps beeping. It is caused by transmitter low voltage alarm.
Please set the appropriate low voltage alarm in the transmitter. The appropriate low voltage alarm depends on what battery you use. What batteries can be used to power RC6GS V3?
The working voltage of RC6GS V3 is 4.8-16.8V. RC6GS V3 is standard packed with a battery holder, which can hold 6 AA battery. The voltage of a fully charged AA battery is 1.5V. The total voltage of 6 pieces fully-charged AA battery is 9V.
Except AA battery, you can also use 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo battery to power the transmitter. Remove the AA batteries, Pull the battery holder out. Two pins are inside it. There are positive and negative signs next to the pins. Use the lipo battery with JST connector to power RC6GS V3. Make sure the connection is not reversed. Red cable is positive, and black cable is negative. If the connection is reversed, the transmitter cannot be powered on.
How to set the transmitter low voltage alarm?
Power on it. Long press ~ to Enter the basic menu--ALARM. The transmitter low voltage alarm, TX defaults to 7.4V. When you use 6 AA batteries to power the transmitter, It is recommended to set 1.2/1.25V alarm for each battery. So you can set the alarm to 7.2V.
If you use lipo battery, It is recommended to set 3.7V alarm for each cell. So you can set alarm to 7.4V for 2S, 11.1V for 3S, and 14.8V for 4S battery. I use 2S lipo battery, so I keep the alarm 7.4V.
When the voltage of the battery is lower than the alarm value, the warning of TX Lower Power will pop out, and the transmitter will beep.
Please Note:
1.All the battery can be used to power the transmitter, such as chargeable battery, battery pack, nickel metal hydride battery and so on. But please make sure the voltage is within the working range of RC6GS V3, and the connector of the battery is JST.
2.The USB port of RC6GS V3 is not used to power the transmitter or battery. It’s only for firmware update. If you want to charge the lipo battery, use professional lipo battery charger, such as RadioLink CB86-PLUS charger.

Hello Radiolink. What supply voltage do you recommend for this transmitter? Some forums say that using 4S or 3S LiPo batteries will over stress an internal voltage regulator inside the transmitter. Thank you.

Hello, sir. The working voltage of RC6GS V3/RC4GS V3 is from 4.8 to16.8V, so you can use 6pcs of AA batteries or 2S-4S LiPo battery. That is to say, 3S or 4S(fully voltage is 16.8V) lipo battery also compatible.

@@ahoyskid I plan to use a 3S LiPo. I would prefer to use a 3S LiFe pack but can't find one that fits the battery compartment. It's nominal voltage is closer to 6 AA batteries. I was really asking if there is an internal voltage regulator like what some people have said in forums.

Hello, sir. For RC6GS V3, you can assign a on-off switch to mix the the receiver channel 3.4 with the throttle and steering channel. And please note, there are total 2 mixes in the transmitter. You can check if the mixes are enough.

Therotically, you can mix 3 to channel 1, and mix 4 to channel 4 to get the function of channel 1 and channel 2, but you have already used 2 mixes of channel 1 and channel 2, so there is no more mix to mix channel 3, 4 to channel 1, 2. So You can not get the function on RC6GS V3 if you have already used 2 mixes.

For example, if the full voltage of your 4S lipo battery is 16.8V(4.2*4), you can set 14.8V(3.7V*4) But actually, you can set alarm voltage as you like. @@FORD150-5.4 If you set 15.2V, the alarm will go off when the battery voltage reaches 15.2V. If you set 14.8V, the alarm will go off when the battery voltage reaches 14.8V. Both is okay. Higher voltage can avoid 0ver-discharge of the battery.
