Was waiting for this one. I have the Mavrik TD and love it. Also very interesting about the 8 and 8. Mine did come with the 14 and 2 weight configuration. I’ve heard some folks state that but most I’ve talked to have the 14 and 2. Also mine came in at 200grams head weight.

I have the Mavrik Triple D. Mine came with 2 g and 14g weights. With the 14g in the back, it plays a lot like my G410+. I have a similar swing to Ian but 10 mph slower so a little more spin and moi is good for me. Visually, the triple d looks way less upright than the standard Mav.

Another great one guys. I snagged the Epic Flash Triple Diamond after your video about that one last year. I agree that I really like having the perimeter weight movement on that one, but I hadn't even thought of changing the weights! Adding loft always closes the face at address. The more the loft the more closed. Typically .6 degrees closed for every degree of loft added. Exact opposite for lowering loft. Not sure on lie angle for callaway

Great video. Found one used at golf galaxy for $300. One thing I was wondering on shafts. It seems when I’m feeling fresh the best shaft for me is something in the 70x range but when I’m sore or not feeling the best it’s more like 60x . Any thoughts on this and which one might be better fit?

I personally cannot hit a modern Callaway driver unless it's in the Upright lie setting. They are just so flat that optically I can't get comfortable and I end up pushing all shots. Upright, they fly much straighter for me. I don't know how Ian can setup to that in standard setting. Matt I could see flatter working because of his height.

I don't think it's a surprise that it's 1) 450 vs 460 cc - at huge swing speeds there will be an aero advantage, 2) the 8wt/8wt targets 2300-2400 spin range versus 2100. I think when you are playing for a living, given the rough they see, 1 more fairway every 1-2 rounds, with the ball not running into the Left Rough - that Ian's 1st 14/2 weight ball did, but you are giving up 2 yards instead, is absolutely worth the trade-off. It's one of the reasons when I tested the TS3, with weight in toe and set to flat, that the 2200-2300rpm range that Titleist targeted is better

Kind of shocking from the manufacturers to be honest. Both shaft and club makers market products as if they’re tour level but they’re clearly not.
@canyonaro4 жыл бұрын
Sure they are but they come up with a few variants to address market segments. If they mass produced all 12 versions for retail they'd be stuck with tons of unsold inventory & consumers wouldn't buy. The paradox of choice. Three choices, of which the middle option fits the most people, is proven to be the way to sell the most. The triple diamond is basically the deeper face of the regular SZ with the cyclone shape/flat crown of Mav Std. Not quite as low spin as the SZ so less susceptible to the snap hook. It's a tweener, not some magic tech Callaway held back from the common man.
@MikesaBhoy4 жыл бұрын
