This is hauntingly beautifull dance track from 1992, get's even better at the end!

Such a crisp, clean sounding electro-pop track, pristine production values and beautifully arranged. I especially love the portion of the arrangement leading into the final minute to minute and a half when the strings come sweeping in and the song seems to soar and flow like the wind and the visuals in the video mirror that so well. I really hope you will explore the debut Electronic album which is a freaking masterpiece and IMO is flawless from beginning to end. It’s my all time favorite album. I was fortunate to be at the Depeche Mode concert at Dodger Stadium back in 1990 when they (Electronic) made their first ever live performance and played most of the tracks from their yet unreleased debut album. Little did I know at the time just how much that album would eventually make such an impact on me and become my all time favorite album.

Wow you have seen some epic shows Jerry! Talk about being at the right place at the right time 😎😎 Electronic were epic, "Tighten Up" my personal Fav from their awesome first album.

@@reactionextraction You’re right, I have actually seen some amazing shows. I love “Tighten Up” as well, great choice, but, to be fair, the whole album is a masterpiece (with maybe the exception being “Soviet”, yawn). I personally go nuts for “Some Distant Memory” which has probably every element of a pop song which I love, particularly the insanely gorgeous outro with the stunning string arrangement. Love “Reality” and “Gangster” as well. That track is synth paradise. Real quick, if you ever cover an Inspiral Carpets song (Dragging Me Down, hint, hint 😊) I’ll have to share an amazing story from from seeing them live at the Palace in Hollywood which oddly involves members of Depeche Mode. Oh, and just a couple of other amazing shows I’ve been so lucky to experience, Live Aid in Philly and I actually got to see ABBA in concert in Boston on October 3, 1979. I have a hard time getting people to believe me when I share that, but, then I show them the old school actual physical pics I took that night as a teen who loved Frida, it’s fun to see the reaction. If you ever want to see the pix from the ABBA show let me know. The quality isn’t the greatest because the electronic copies are scans of the photos, but, they’re still clearly those Swedish pop masters.

One of my favourite bands and an amazing supergroup

Loved this so much, it sounds like a PSB track but with little flourishes of Marr and Barney. The Killers love that Manchester era that spawned the Smiths & New Order so having Johnny Marr support makes sense. "Getting Away With It" is more unique sounding with the mix of Barney vocals with Neil backing and Johhny adding more aggressive guitar work.

I think Ty is getting the PSB vibe so far. He likes Neil Tennant's voice a lot. Electronic were so great. Talk about a supergroup !!

Love this one, it’s like a hidden PSB tune with Neil’s vocals on it. The Roland JD-800 is all over this track, and even has a cameo at the start of the video. If that one was anything like mine half the keys would have stopped working the second they finished recording.

A stunningly beautiful tune, with Marr's hallmark jangly guitar chords, layered over with Sumner's floating synthesiser notes. Yes, it does sound a bit more like a Pet Shop Boys song largely because Neil Tennant is soloing on the vocals, unlike Electronic's first single "Getting Away With It" where Neil is on backing vocals. But this single marked the last time that Tennant would appear with Electronic. This was the very first single I bought on compact disc, and it sounds as fresh and vibrant today as it did back in 1992. A timeless pop classic.

Electronic was Bernard Sumner - Vocals, guitar, keyboards and Johnny Marr - guitars, bass, vocals, keyboards. The first album also has Neil Tennant - vocals, keyboards, guitar and Chris Lowe - keyboards and Anne Dudley Orchestrations and conducting. That was for Electronic's first album. The second album Raise the Pressure Electronic had ex Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos - keyboards on six tracks on the album. Disappointed is one of the songs featured in the Cool World movie and soundtrack. Disappointed also was not on The first release of Electronic's first album. Disappointed was a stand alone single. Rereleases of the first first Electronic album has Disappointed added

Let's face the truth : This is a Pet Shop Boys song with guests on it ! er... ok they were the guests actually....
@claricefernandes86232 жыл бұрын
I believe that Pet Shop Boys have such a particular signature in their work that even participating or being part of a parallel work with other artists, the work ends up having their print, even without wanting to. Not complaining as I love everything coming from them, just coming with the facts. You should react to the work they did with David Bowie, Hallo Spaceboy.
