Winter, as a campaign player and occasional coop enjoyer (generally PVE player)... your sassy commentary made SCII a constant in my life, a "just one more story before going to sleep" kind of thing for the last 3 years. In few of the vids you threw a dagger on those that only watch but do not play and I took that personally... soo, after a decade of not playing competitive pvp games (last time was Dota2 in 2014... I feel old)... I went through your low apm series as a Protoss and followed your steps. It has been a roller coaster, but today, I finally punched through the silver into Gold. Oh, I am dying to all sort of cheese but damn the good macro I learned from your series is winning the games left and right. On to the GOLD! With a personal coach in the form of your announcer pack, what can go wrong? :D Wishing you good luck and fulfilment, your random dude fan!

Winter got me to switch to SC2 from following AoE2! Super fun and entertaining and how he makes basically in-jokes accessible after seeing a few vids to just about anybody is like magic to me. You're very very likely aware of Harstem, too, who also does fun game-show content with other SC2 content makers and had Winter over for some classics. I keep his HarstemCasts on now to fall asleep or for attention anchoring - as an occassional premiere tournament competitor, his knowledge in commentary and analysis is unmatched in the english language caster space, and he's got a dry humour approach to casting and teaching that I appreciate as much as Winter's work. Just in the improbable case you haven't, I recommend you check both his channels out, but in particular I'd like to point you to one specific video he made on how to warmup and practice macro skills becaue it's an incredible resource. The routines are kinda tedious but don't take that long and give insane value-for-time at drilling yourself to have a rock-solid baseline for macro playing. An example is to play vs idle AI to hit full supply with workers only in under X minutes, at 200% game speed, learn do that then do it once or twice before your ladder matches and watch number go up. Good luck, have fun! :3

Mindless gossip. Terran has only thors as late game mech option while Zerg has not any unit except workers that is still strong in the late game plus Zerg has the greatest variety of units that's why Terran needs ghosts to have a chance at all.

Whoa, TWO Factory before any Starport? If you've been following SC2 since 2010, this is SO rare and pretty much never done, aside from the occasional hidden 2 fact BFH build or more recently 2 fact Cyclone shenanigans. It's almost always better to open with 111. This is so cool as a mech player! I would love to see if he's able to bless us with some TvP mech too before he retires. I wonder if he's able to figure something out with the new Cyclones.

I wonder if theres potential in a video in the theme of the "Good Idea... Bad Idea...." Animaniacs skit where you could show a string of super short games where a build either bops someone or flops horribly. Wait, that's it! Could call its "Bops and Flops" You can have that one for free Winter lol

TY has been doing really well in BroodWar, saw some of his matches and he's competing toe to toe with some fo the best in the ASL. Pretty impressive, I dont think even Flash or Jaedong amange to translate skills so well from one game to the other.
@anotherplatypus8 ай бұрын
That was a fun welterweight game. = ) I liked how the video was devoid of heavy criticism... Sometimes SC2 KZbin casters will feel frustrated when they're rooting for an underdog that makes a blunder or imperfect production/upgrade decisions... and they pass that frustration onto the audience. I thought the matches were all enjoyable beginning to end.

I think interesting games that are maybe less popular to watch for a whole series (mirrors, cheeses with interesting micro that end fast, etc) would be good fits for the anti-spoiler slot. Only one, so less likely for people to click away, gives some variety in what can be talked about during the cast, and scratches that mirror itch without having to subject Winter to a full mirror cast XD

I generally put a winter cast on as I’m going to bed and the reminder to like the video at the beginning of the video is always appreciated. I end up hitting that like button after it every night there’s a new video. I never used to, not because I didn’t like I just never thought about it. So despite being probably my most consistently watched KZbinr (5-6 nights a week) I wasn’t liking for that I’m sorry. Keep reminding me winter it’s part of my ritual now
